Dr. Morgenstern had little interest in listening to my concerns or even my symptoms. He spoke on the phone with my primary care doctor for a total of four minutes, at least three and a half of which were about another patient. He did a cursory neurological exam (under four minutes) and decided that I was careless and had too many things on my mind. My condition (whatever it is) is very specific, very unusual for me, and definitely not casual or the result of carelessness. The symptoms are frightening, and I would have appreciated my doctor listening to me and actually THINKING instead of simply shrugging my condition off as just inattention. .

Dr. Morgenstern spent a lot of time with me and I was his last appointment of the day. He really spent the time to look through my MRI and explain it to me. He did not rush into a diagnosis or to put me on drugs until he looks into it further.

I went in as referral from the emergency room after I had been suffering horrible dizzy spells without obvious cause. He spoke with me for 5 minutes (literally) did a cursory neuro exam (5 minutes) and promptly diagnosed me with panic disorder (!!) When i explained I had no other symptoms accompanying the dizzyness and that I did not agree with his assessment he prescribed me an anti depressant and a powerful tranquilizer and sent me on my way! He didn't explain about side affects or long-term consequenses on taking these drugs. I do not have panic disorder and am glad I was smart enough to seek other medical advice instead of taking these medications I clearly did not need -some of which have horrible side affects.
Although Dr. Morgenstern was knowledgeable, he was not very good at explaining why he prescribed numerous medicines for me and details about my diagnosis. In my experience, he was reluctant to answer questions that I brought to my appointment with me, and was aggravated that I would not just take my prescriptions and go home. Now I need to see another Neurologist, (more $$$) because my questions are important, and I need to have them answered. I waited 15 minutes past my appointment time. Not the worst wait, but not the best. I left my appointment thinking that maybe my condition (complex migraine) is not a priority for him, compared to his other patients. However, it is important to me, and that is why I spent money and time to see him. It was a very disappointing experience.
