:) Click to report rating    11/18/09 5 5 5 I LOVE MY DERMATOLOGIST! Dr. Tabas treated me with Sculptra about 6 months ago. I didn't want to look unnatural or "worked on". She is a true artist. She was able to increase the plumpness of my cheeks which reduced my lower eyelid crinkles AND she built up my chin and jaw line which eliminated my chin waddle. Best of all the results have improved over time and should last 2 years!!

:) Click to report rating    11/11/09 5 4 4 I disagree with some previous reviews and find it difficult to believe really. I have been seeing Dr. Tabas for over six years and NEVER experienced any of the problems expressed. She is an unbelievable skilled doctor. The office staff does seem better than about five months ago. I think there were some changes there. Keep up the good work.

:( Click to report rating    8/26/09 5 1 1 I have worked for this Dr. a few times, dont get me wrong she is a great dermatologist. But she treats employees as "salvagable" people, claims sabotoge, and treats patients as income. She fires employees for no reason, and if given a reason, the reason is all lies. She has fired numerous people for no reason, and made up lies so they couldn't get unemployment. For anyone thinking of coming to this practice, there is another Dr. there...Her name is Dr. Francille MacFarland. She is the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure to work for. And I Highly recommend her. I wish I could say the same for Dr. T.

:) Click to report rating    6/15/09 4 5 4 I've been a skin cancer patient of Dr. Tabas for over 10 years. She has done an excellent job finding all 3 types of skin cancer on me including 3 melanoma in situs, in the early stages before they became untreatable. She has performed MOHS surgery and did an excellent job. Dr. Tabas runs a professional, organized office and a tight ship which is important when you are dealing with the correct, early diagnosis of melanoma and when performing surgery. The atmosphere is business like, not social, but I would rather have a physician with excellent diagnostic and surgical skills than one who runs a more social office.

:( Click to report rating    5/5/09 1 2 2 Terrible Attitude at office. Because I did not have a current "diagnosis" they demanded $200 for a skin cancer check. Then, after a cursory exam, she wanted to biopsy something that didn't need to be treated. I went to my Derm in Massachusetts (on staff at Tufts) and she couldn't see what the Doctor was talking about. Nasty Office manager and I wouldn't send anyone to her.

:( Click to report rating    4/1/09 4 3 1 I did not have a good experience with this doctor. My issues still persist, have worsened, and there is no treatment plan or follow-up. I expect that if a particular prescription does not work, something else is tried, prescribed, some type of brainstorming on how to help the patient. Guess I'm wrong. Patients should be respected, not for having the most medical knowledge, but for being the ones that know their bodies the best.

:( Click to report rating    7/9/08 1 3 1 I hadn't been seen in a while - called to get a skin check done and the receptionist answered my request with "Did I know that would be $200?" (I'm using insurance, why should that matter?!? Did I sound indigent on the phone?!?!) I was asked if I have had skin cancer, no, but I'm being smart and getting checked or so I thought! Then I was told I could have a smaller scale visit and have up to four moles checked. (Does that mean if she happens to spot mole #5 looking suspicious and it wasn't one of the ones I requested to have looked at, she passes on treating it?!?!?) I asked her how am I supposed to choose the moles? (I'm not the DOCTOR!!!) I also needed two skin tags removed, to which I was told, "Oh, you have to make two separate appointments." Well, that's awfully nice of you to waste my time and my gas for two appointments - why can't you put me in your books for two back to back? I could tell this wasn't going anywhere, so I'm going somewhere else.

:( Click to report rating    8/3/07 1 1 1 I didn't know Maxine Tabas really existed! After several appointments for a burn where I could only see (don't remember which it was)eithe the NP or the PA, I requested an appointment for an all over skin cancer check but was informed that I could only request that the doctor look at a few "specific" spots, that she does not do the all over unless you've had a history of past skin cancer! (huh?) Don't waste your time, get a doctor who really wants to see her/his patients.

:( Click to report rating    2/27/07 2 2 I have a long scar on my face as a result of mohs surgery done by Dr. Tabas. She didn't even take the time to see me on my follow up visit. I wish I could turn back the clock- I would have chosen a different Dr.

:) Click to report rating    7/20/06 5 5 Dr. Tabas is a very knowledge doctor who shares concern with her patients. She takes the time to really explain the procedure you are going to have. She is very particular in her follow-up and successful care of her patients

:)      7/1/05 1 2 If you don't mind waiting on avg. over an hour, only to be told you will have to come back to have something removed, then she is your Dr. Her sun screening is more like a strip search. You will stand up naked in front of her and spread your cheeks while she transcribes! I have NEVER been more humiliated! While having cancer cut from my face she asked if I wanted to see it. Curious I said ok. I was horrified to see a quarter sized hole in my face. What is she thinking? I just changed drs. after crying everytime I leave her office. When requesting my files sent to me, I received ANOTHER patients confidential file. While she has been rated one of the best Dr.s in Florida, avoid Dr. Tabas at all costs! There are plenty of physicians who give a damn.
