4/14/12 | 4 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr Thompson has an excellent bedside manner, and is very knowledgeable! Yes the residents see you first and ask you questions, but this does not mean he isn't checking their info. They are learning, and he caught things they missed in a matter of seconds. I dont mind that, means more great doctors for our kids! He goes out of his way to explain things so that the everyday person can understand it. He ensures you have all the information you need and that you are well informed. Yes, I did investigate and have questions for him, but he answered most of them before I even asked! He helps to find a medication that is right for you vs just dishing it out and not caring. His secretary Amy has been kind as well. If people think he is rude and uncaring, well... I just dont believe it! | Respond |

5/4/11 | 4 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Contrary to other posters who said that if you do not obviously have arthritis he will not help. He found none with me or fibromyalsia. He also answered all questions and was very polite. He did not have a full reason for my pain and did follow up blood work. I would recommend. | Respond |

3/3/11 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr Thompson was very friendly and diagnosed my Fibromyalgia , he suggested a change of medication for my GP. Also he entered me in the Fibro Clinic at ST-Joseph. I was very impressed with his knowledge. He did think and suspect that I might have an underlying condition of Psoriatic arthritis but it could not be confirmed until I get another flare. He recommended I go for blood work when this happens. I enjoyed his interaction and he did answer all my concerns. He was very compassionate to my pain!!!!1 | Respond |

6/21/10 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Very wonderful to me on every appointment. I have been going to him for almost 4 years. So glad he is there. Amy is great also. | Respond |

5/29/10 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | I probably wouldn't go to him, not because of his clinical acumen, but because he is not the most pleasant person to be around. There are two sides to him - he is sugary-sweet when he wants to make a good impression, but he can be EXTREMELY rude when he doesn't care to. | Respond |
|
3/15/10 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 5 | I find Dr. Thompson to be very thorough and thoughtful of the situation. He listens to my concerns, and is willing to go to lengths to answer questions and get me on proper treatment. His receptionist Amy has always been very helpful and pleasant. | Respond |

9/17/09 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 5 | I've beeb seeing Dr Thompson for a couple of years now. When I first saw him I could barely walk, get dressed, open a bottle of water etc. Within 3 or 4 months of his triple therapy I was on the road to recovery. I'm now 99% back to what I was before I had RA - and playing guitar again! The guy is fanatstic. | Respond |

7/11/09 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | Wonderful Doctor, as well as one of the most pleasant human beings I've ever met. Since I starting seeing him I am almost pain free and much more mobile. I was only kept waiting once and briefly when a student saw me first. It's always been a pleasant experience and I have had dramatic improvement from my very first visit. I don't understand how any rational person could have a any problem with Dr. Thompson, perhaps none do. | Respond |

12/16/07 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 2 | Very uncaring and embarassed me in front of his resident. He was thorough but as stated in another posting, if you are not grossly arthritic he dismisses you. Waited 11 months to see him only to be dismissed. what a waste of talent. Hope he treats other women better. | Respond |
|
12/16/07 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 1 | if you are disable or have depression he will not treat you with dinity and your pain will not be treated and he will make your hospital records state that you are not to be treated if you end up in hospital or emergency no matter what he jeopardizes people's health and welfare | Respond |

12/3/07 | 5 | 3 | 5 | 5 | I agree with the poster who said you must be proactive with your healthcare. I'm American and I'm used to the system in the States. I married a Canadian and moved to Ontario so I'm stuck with OHIP. You need to go into an appt with specific goals and questions to ask your dr. Be informed so you can get the most out of your appt. I really like Dr. Thompson. I find him very knowledgable and helpful and caring. Not thrilled about wait times, but thats to be expected at the hospital clinic. | Respond |

6/9/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I find it hard to believe that some people found Dr. Thompson uncaring. Although he is an extremely busy doctor he always gives undivided attention. He is VERY thorough, extremely knowledgeable and quite personable. He has helped me immensly. | Respond

5/29/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | For those who had a negative experience with Dr. Thompson - I'm sorry. My advice would be to try to involve him in your care - really engage him with questions about your situation. I found him very helpful and concerned - but I went in very informed and had specific questions for him. Our health is OUR priority. These doctors work for us to help us manage it. Please be as proactive as you can be in informing yourself of what your options are - he'll help you. He helped me tremendously and I feel lucky to have a young specialist to see me through the course of this vicious disease. Good luck to all! | Respond

4/12/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr.Thompson is very considerate of your well being and never rushed. A excellent doctor | Respond
|
4/3/07 | 3 | 1 | 1 | Doesn't seem to listen to his patient, has students do the work while he just walks in looks at ya, and then sends you home feeling worse then when you arrives. I was in pain for three weeks after my visit to him, and that had never happened before or since. He should start doing some work himself. | Respond
|
4/1/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | A very caring doctor,He has been a great help with my arthritis,always answers any questions I have.Takes time to explain everything and never rushes thru my appointments. | Respond
|
3/27/07 | 3 | 1 | 1 | Uncaring, narrow in focus, if your joints are not grossly swollen and you are not in a wheelchair he does not want to see you, very unwilling to give any help at all- a total waste of time. His bedside manner is agressive and mean- very rude. | Respond |
