Presented to Weitzel with suspected UTI loss of kidney function shortness of breath. He said shortness of breath was covid. No uti. 48 hours later I'm hospitalized with clots and impaired kidney function. Idk what happened to weitzel other than he doesn't have time for patients and his reputation at bedside is awful he seems devoted to insulting patients, Dr. Weitzel has helped me previously however the risk to my health is too great to continue. Disappointing waste of time Requested kidney labs, denied. The practice is too big, Dr too busy to listen to an existing established patient, He rubber stamped me on UTI and that's why I'll be presenting his practice with thousands in diagnostics to him. Nursing staff overworked. Proceed with extreme caution

I met Dr. Weitzel through the Fawcett memorial Hospital's ER. I went to the ER with blood in my urine, and Dr. Weitzel was the on-call Urologist. His manner was gruff and condescending. I was released from the hospital with a diagnosis on a Urinary Tract Infection. Dr. Weitzel's office scheduled a procedure (cystoscopy) a week and a half after my release, and refused to see me any earlier. My diagnosed condition called for treatment with antibiotics. Dr. Weitzel refuse to prescribe them. He claimed that, since he did not see me in his office, but instead in the hospital, he could not prescribe medication. Dr. Weitzel was willing to let my infection go untreated for a week and a half. I was stunned. After several phone calls to Fawcett Memorial, I found someone who faxed a prescription for the appropriate antibiotics to my pharmacy. The day before the aforementioned, scheduled procedure, someone from Weitzel's office called me and threatened to cancel the procedure unless paperwork approving payment was received from the VA. It had been approved a week earlier. From day one Dr. Weitzel's behavior and attitude, as well as that of his staff, had been nightmarish to say the least. I write this review in the hope that it might spare some unsuspecting patient the nightmare I went through as a victim of Dr. Weitzel.

In February I had surgery to remove a large kidney stone. After a week of getting better, the pain got worse. Was told this pain was normal but it continued to get worse. I kept my apt and tried to explain the pain, but was told, “I did my job. If you continue to be in pain you need to see another doctor. You are no longer my problem.” I left crying and went straight to the ER and was diagnosed with mild right hydronephrosis and hydroureter. Don’t go see this dr, he only cares about quick money.

Dr. Witzel has a horrible administrative staff. Sometimes they’d charge and sometimes they wouldn’t. Sometimes they’d have my appointment logged sometimes they wouldn’t. Once they even called to tell me how to prep for surgery the next day when in fact I had a consult the following day, never needed or had surgery! Had a question for the office nurse and she refused after 5 follow-up calls to return my call. The Dr. himself seemed to be OK, but clearly was in denial about the professionalism of his staff. I even told my referring family physician about it and she conceded that she'd heard the same thing from others. I left his care.

He is very personable with a great bedside manner. We would highly recommend him to anyone. He performed surgery (prostate) and followed up on a timely and courteous manner.
