Dr Sacks is willing to treat many patients that other REs won't accept (including me who was kicked to the curb by my last clinic for my high FSH). I didn't get pregnant, but am grateful he gave me a chance.

Wonderful doctor and person! very patient, professional and thorough in his work. I particularly liked his calm attitude during our stressful IVF treatment. Always smiling and positive. He responds to emails fast and answered all our questions. I felt in very good hands the whole time. The IVF nurses/staff at CFA are a whole different story unfortunately...very impersonal, almost rude, and expect you to follow on the details of your treatement yourself...they actually made many mistakes and I had to closely follow-up on every single detail of my treatment.

Dr. Sacks provides personally and clinically tailored care. He takes medically challenging cases and cares deeply about outcomes. His explanations are detailed and sensitive. I wish that they could be filmed. The office operations need improvement. If I had not gone through cycles at another center that was like a factory operating with military precision I might have been confused at some points but staff was very accessible. Would refer my best friend.

Dr. Sacks is very personable, extremely knowledgeable, reassuring, & very kind. He personally did my monitoring appointments, called when he said he would/returned calls, & answered my many questions. However, he only told me 2 days before my retrieval he was not going to do my transfer - & told me during an ultrasound! On the downside, the clinic staff and processes at Columbia are not good, & you really have to manage the process e.g. mistake was made in instructions for our protocol setting us back a month, there is NO email communication, nurse refused to provide typed list of meds, protocol was hand written photo copy calendar, I had to ask for primary nurse to be assigned as VMs were not passed on,etc. Our insurance did not cover IVF, & the finance people were terrible. The practice needs to work on the WHOLE process and integrated experience. IVF was unsuccessful & I was subsequently accepted onto shared risk at another practice who have the whole process perfected.
My fondness for Dr. Sacks is admittedly biased because he gave me the miracle baby I had struggled for after 7 previous failed IVF cycles at other centers. Despite my advanced age, DOR, and previous failures, he didn't turn me away. He is friendly and knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. He also uses more progressive protocols that other area REs have not yet adopted. Unlike other centers, I received a lot of personal attention and was monitored/treated by Dr. Sacks at each visit. I even had the luxury of communicating questions to Dr. Sacks via email...quite unheard of in any field of medicine! I highly recommend him.
