21/04/14 4 4 1 1 When I first went to Dr. Baird, I thought she was very meticulous and thorough - it turns out she is NOT. Since Dr. Baird moved, I went to a different doctor and was just diagnosed with diabetes. I requested past blood tests and it turns out my blood glucose was already quite high 3 years ago. Not only Dr. Baird didn't tell me but she didn't do anything about it. Further tests should have been done. So for the past 3 years my diabetes was left untreated!!! I don't call that thorough - or is it lack of time (or knowledge)???  See Responses

31/01/14 5 5 5 5 Dr. Baird came recommended and I am glad to have her as my gp. I find her to be knowledgeable of lower back pain and treatment options, i was given a thorough general physical after first visit and found the nurse practitioner also very knowledgable with great bedside manner. Felt as though Dr. Baird cared when answering my questions and gave me some good feedback on my general health concerns, would recommend to anyone.

31/07/13 1 1 1 1 I became a new patient of Doctor Baird in 2011/12. I visited her office only a few times and found her to be very unfriendly to the point of being rude. In one case she snapped at me for speaking while she was listening to my heart. I apologized. She basically sat behind her computer for much of the visit with her back to me typing at a painfully slow rate. Their front desk staff is not very organized and there is much work needed in terms of professionalism. They do not follow-up with you for regular check-ups and when I asked about it, I was told that it is generally up to the patient do this - another walk-in clinic I attended prior use to contact me for follow-up visits. Overall, each time I went to their office, I left feeling less than satisfied. I am now seeking another Doctor and sorry I wasted my time here. I would NOT recommend their services...keep looking.  Respond

01/05/13 5 5 2 5 I went to see Dr. Baird one month ago. We had a discussion about how I want to come off the benzos that I've been taking for 16 years. I was immediately taken off the clonazepam that I was taking since 2005 at 3x per day and prescribed diazepam at 2x per day. The next two weeks I suffered severe hormonal symptoms and it increased my anxiety, irritability, sensitivities, etc that I was taking more of the diazepam than usual. I haven't always been compliant with medication but I do my very best. I went to a Naturopath to get more assistance and she really wants to help me with all the issues and understands the emotional dependence with the benzos. I went back to Dr. Baird and told her what happened. She told me that she wasn't going to give me another prescription. She told me to take a smartie pill if I get anxiety. She told me that pain or anxiety isn't going to kill me. I walked out of there feeling like a drug junkie. when i was leaving she said "I never get vacation."  Respond

09/02/13 2 1 1 1 saw her 3 times which was 2 too many. Needed hospitalization for depression re ongoing pain in the extreme(frozen shoulder, fibromyalgia, cirrhosis of liver, diabetic neuropathy. My outcare worker contacted her receptionist twice on friday to get list of meds so i could be admitted. Dr didnt bother to talk to him until Monday leaving me in great pain and suicidal over the weekend. When I was discharged and went to see her to ask for increase in pain meds she told me not to increase without permission or i would be in big trouble. She then halfed the dosage i was already on and told me "Pain isnt lethal". Whe I asked her to elaborate, she simply said "Pain wont kill you.", and dismissed me. Had I been a little more depressed at that point it certainly could have as her cold remark could have easily pushed me over the edge. I find her to be a heartless, sadistic witch who shouldnt be allowed to treat an animal let alone a human.  Respond

09/01/13 5 5 5 5 I am confused by some of the negative comments for Dr. Baird as they do not reflect my experiences with her or her office. She has been my family doc for maybe four years now. I am in “advanced middle age” and have few medical issues, however, I do find Dr. Baird to be attentive and she listens to my complaints and concerns. She is punctual and I have never waited in her office for more than 20 minutes, tops. I’ve never had any difficulty dealing with her MOA and making appointments. Dr. Baird has always referred me for tests when necessary and has referred me to specialists. I am happy with this physician.  Respond

25/11/12 5 5 5 5 After reading these reviews I wanted to add my own to aid someone who might be seeking a good doctor. My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Baird for over a year and our experience with her and her staff have been terrific. We are both in our mid-50’s and physically active with the customary problems that accompany middle age. Dr. Baird has methodically approached every diagnosis and treatment with the appropriate testing and evaluation before recommending a remedy. She is a very gentle and soft-spoken person with a subtle sense of humour that makes speaking with her a pleasure. It has never been difficult to get convenient appointment times and she is very punctual. When you read reviews here I suggest that you read between the lines and determine if the writers view life as a glass that is half empty of half full; my wife and I are in the half-full group and feel that Dr. Baird is great. Her new office is terrific, has plenty of free parking, and a friendly staff.  Respond

14/11/12 1 1 1 1 Stay away from this "doctor". Dr. Baird is incompetent, rude, cold, and lazy. I am VERY unimpressed with Dr. Baird and her staff. I am a young woman who suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm. I made an appointment with her after being discharged from the hospital. I saw her complaining of pain in my nose and eye, and burning in my bladder. She INSISTED these were just complications from the aneurysm. After receiving my own copy of my hospital records I saw they said I had a bladder infection and a sinus infection when I was discharged and these records were sent to Dr. Baird for further care. I received 100x better care at a walk in clinic. She also NEVER gave me referrals to any specialist. When she swabbed my throat for tonsillitis, she never even sent it to the lab. I called her two weeks later and apparently the results were "negative" when another Dr got positive results. She is a nightmare, only interested in seeing patients to get more money. I have GLADLY switched GP's.  Respond

25/04/12 2 1 1 2 I have recently left Dr Baird for another GP. For me getting information out of Dr Baird was like pulling teeth and she does not have much of a bedside manner. She did not investigate what was wrong with me (30 year old with HBP and just prescribed meds, no investigation)and she does not follow up with you (I went to the hospital over 1 month agao and she was supposed to call to follow up and I have still have not heard from her or her staff).I would recommend you find another GP.  Respond

03/02/12 5 5 5 5 I recently became a patient of Dr. Baird at her new Burnaby location. After three visits to the clinic, I am very pleased with Dr. Baird and her staff! Both Dr. Baird and her Nurse Practitioner Bonnie are very professional, knowledgeable, kind and helpful!  Respond

20/01/12 5 5 5 5 I visited her new Practice in Burnaby today. She was thorough and attentive. I attended as a walk in patient. She was cautious about treating me without any knowledge of my history, I believe this is sound advice. Dr. Baird employs a Nurse Practitioner at this office..and I would revisit this office again.  Respond

17/10/11 1 1 1 1 Dr Baird has been my family dr for about 3 years now and i have to say I HATE HER AND HER STAFF with a passion. She is a horrible DR who never thinks your sick refuses to send you for any blood work, x ray or even do just a simple exam on you. she looks so lost and confused at all times. She's cold, rude, and I can't wait to find a new Dr and stop seeing her.  Respond

21/08/11 3 2 1 1 Stay away! She is very sarcastic and rude, making you feel as if you are wasting her time and that you are not sick. Told me straight that she didn't know what was wrong and that it can't be anything serious. Every symptom that I mentioned, she had a snide remark back. Shouldn't be in this profession as her attitude towards patients is terrible.  Respond

01/04/11 3 1 1 1 In Prince George I left and old family doc to go to a female doctor--silly me. Besides the pathetic waits- she is incompetent as a GP. My water broke when I was 30 weeks pregnant and she was informed at 7 am--she refused to come in to LDR and see me or refer me to the gyne on call-- she made it in at 12 noon after she was done "washing her hair" as was one of her excuses for not coming in(documented on my records by the nurse). My daughter was born later that night and as a result has cerebral palsy. She backtracked on my chart and made many errors, even lied about stuff said in her office the appt before. I warn you all about going to her -- find someone else.  Respond

23/12/10 4 3 5 5 I chose Dr. Baird as my new GP 2 years ago and think she is fantastic. She is patient, thorough and understanding. I never have trouble getting an appointment with her either. I am honestly shocked by some of the other ratings because she's been nothing but great with me.  Respond

07/10/10 1 1 2 2 I have been dealing with Dr.Baird and her MOA's for 3 years now, and I absolutely hate it. Her Moa's are so rude and it's painful trying to book an appointment. I need to see a doctor every month for a medical condition and I can't tell you the amount of times that with an appointment I have gone in, waited two hours, asked the Moa's if my name was coming up soon who would tell me another 45 mins, and then have left. I work! I don't have time to wait 3 hours! That office double books and it drives me nuts. One time after waiting two hours, then being told to wait another I said enough is enough and wanted to reschedule, I went up to the MOA and she said...oh sorry-the booking clerk isn't here you will have to call back. HOW HARD IS IT TO JOT SOMETHING DOWN ON A PIECE OF PAPER?! Can't they see how angry their patients are? Luckily Dr. Baird and I have an understanding that we don't like each other, and the visits are short. But dear god, if you can try and find a different doctor!  Respond

15/08/10 4 3 1 1 Very Poor bedside manner. Rude. Unsympathetic. Took my daughter in with Fever/Sore throat/head ache, etc. She even fell asleep in the waiting room. Once we were in the patient room, my daughter was laying on the bed. Dr. Baird came in and told her to sit up on the chair, that she was not sick enough to be laying down. It was the flu and she had to get over it.  Respond

29/03/10 2 1 1 1 I was relived to have a female family doctor and have a family doctor at all as mine left his practice. I had gone to see Dr. Baird a couple times and wasn't too overly excited but dealt with it because I needed to have a constant doctor as I suffer from chronis headaches/migraines. I just went to go see her the other night to see about going for an MRI and CT to see if there was any damage from an accident a few years ago that could be causing my migrains, she pretty much said it was pointless becasue all I have is tension head aches yet I have had to drive my self to the hospital before from the pain and am often over the toilet during the episodes. she said all I can do with live with or and take pain medications and learn to relax my muscles, it was like she didnt even hear me. and then she went on to argue about the fact that I was miss diagnosed with junior rehumitied arthiritus because I havent been on arthritus meds since I got it... so she basically called me a liar. so rude!  Respond

10/03/10 1 1 1 1 Dr. Baird is completely incompetent as a doctor and health care provider. She was apathetic, cold and indifferent. She completely misdiagnosed my daughter. Had I not brought my daughter in to see another practitioner, my daughter would not be here today. My daughters condition left untreated could have killed her and Dr. Baird was completely neglegent in providing the basic care to adequately diagnose my daughter.  Respond

28/01/10 5 1 5 5 Dr. Baird saved my life. I had to wait hours in her clinic too...and that was annoying for sure, but she hounded me with phone calls to come in for my pap smear and when I finally did it was discovered I had cancer. She was very thorough with her support and followup and I am here today to say, I am grateful for her. She may come across as cold and indifferent, have long waiting times, but she definitely goes the extra mile and is certainly knowledgeable.  See Responses

15/11/09 1 1 1 1 Dr. Baird is the most unsympathetic, unhelpful, and rude doctor I have ever dealt with. She refused to give me treatment for common tests done by family doctors to determine if you need to go on to seek help at a fertility clinic. These are tests that are done after a year of unsuccessful trying. I went to her office right at the year mark and asked for help. She never educated me on the next steps to take, she told me to wait until we moved, that we might be pregnant by then. (We are moving across Canada-at that point the move was three months away). I just went back last week with a list of general tests that should have been done by her. She was disgustingly rude. She refused to the tests claiming that it would be easier to do them with another doctor once I move She also lied about the length of time tests and the results for them would take, as I found out from a clinic nearby. She was so cold and smug,I left her office in tears. Please find another doctor.  Respond

05/10/09 4 3 5 4 After having two female docs disappear on me over last few years was happy to meet Dr. Baird in Jan. this year..Sept/08 was diagnosed with rectal cancer tumour..underwent surgery and met Dr. Baird just prior to chemo treatments etc..she has always shown great concern..was very thorough upon first meeting..asking for all family history and documenting all..first doc. in yrs. to ask for all previous records to be sent to her..sure there is a fee from some doctors offices to be absorbed by me..not Dr. Baird's office for that service to be done but I gladly paid the former Doc's offices so that Dr. Baird could be well informed of my past. She then did a complete physical for me two weeks after we first met..and she has always been extremely well organized for my follow ups. I have full confidence in her abilities and find her a warm and comforting woman.  Respond

08/07/09 2 1 2 2 Rosemary Baird was a family physician in Prince George for a number of years. The time spent in her waiting room was several hours. I finally got to the point that I would check in, ask the receptionist to call me at home when it was getting close me being called in and then go home to wait (luckily I lived 10 minutes from her office). Baird's skills and knowledge appear limited. I had a very serious medical condition that she continued to misdiagnose for over a year (I ended up discovering what it was) and this illness cost me dearly at work. Another time I had an abnormal pap test that required monitoring but she never told me about it. I only found out when her staff called me 6 months later for a recheck. Dr. Baird later left Prince George and moved to Fort St John, I believe for personal reasons. While she was up there, she was suspended by the College of Physicians & Surgeons for having a relationship with a patient and lending him money. Check the College's website.  Respond

15/04/09 1 1 1 1 Rosemary Baird came across as cold and difficult. I had an appointment time with her, and waited 3 hours to get in. I Had told my employer I had an appointment and would only be gone for an hour or two. It took 3 to get in and with travel, my employer was very upset. When I confronted her about the delay, she told me this was normal. She shrugged it off, like nothing was out of the ordinary. The visit was for an initial consultation to have her as my family physician, but I would rather use walk in clinics... or even die. It's that bad. Who can give up an entire afternoon for 5 minutes in an office? And keep in mind I made my appointment several months in advance. They tried to schedule a physical before I left, it was going to be 3 months later, and medical records they charge to transfer. It seems like she is more interested in money than patient care. I would NEVER return to her. She is cold, abrasive, and very diffucult to deal with. Find another doctor, anyone!  Respond

01/04/09 1 1 1 1 My husband and I have been looking for a family doctor, and we had to wait 3 months to see Dr. Baird. When we went for our appointments, we had to wait 2 hours to get in. Once we finally saw her, she was cold, abraisive, and didn't seem to think that waiting 2 hours was unreasonable - what is the point of an appointment then??? As if our time doesn't cost money! The pharmacist next door told us that that he had been hearing many complaints, and that 2 hours didn't seem that long, in fact, other people were complaining of waiting 3 and 4 hours! I think that is unacceptable. Reality is this doctor severly overbooks, and having to wait that long to get in is outrageous. We immediately called once we got home and advised that we weren't interested in being her patients. It's a two way street and she made a horrible impression, not to mention she only worked 9-5 monday to friday, so you would have to take time off work no matter what to get in....and then wait 2 - 4 hours! No way!  Respond
