09/10/13 5 5 4 5 He's been my family doctor for years and he's great. He's extremely knowledgeable, good listener and very open-minded. He seems to genuinely care about his patients. It is true he does not proactively offer physicals and referrals, but he won't deny you one if you ask for it.  Respond

25/12/10 3 3 5 5 He is a really good doctor and I certainly would recommend him to others. He does not seem to like kids, however, so I had to look for a paediatrician but aside from that (no one is perfect) Dr. G is very personable and a he is a wealth of knowledge. His approach to medicine is worth mentioning as he remembers details about his patients, he thinks about them when he is at home (or maybe even dreams:) about them. He does make funny comments like my toe being long enough to be transplanted onto my hand - if needed. The man definitely knows how to make people feel comfortable. Did I mention he is cute?  Respond

24/07/10 4 4 4 4 I've been going to this doctor for over 10 yrs and don't really have anything negative to share. He's not stupid and knows when someone's jerking him around. I'll admit once and a while I yanked his chain, and he knew it, and I also knew he knew it but he just went along with it. He's a decent guy to speak with if you share the same interests like "i" something. To tell you the truth, with todays internet resources..any smart patient will familiarize themselves with meds and treatment and offer a "suggestive" approach, not demanding. His many yrs of med training certainly wasn't for nothing. Forget about goin in and playing armchair doctor. Ask him for his opinion and value it. He is very factual and poignent once he opens up. The guy is a wealth of information in many different specialties. Remember, he can spot a bull****ter a mile away. Trust me I know. Dr. G keep up the great work. And don't use high F-stops!  Respond

31/05/10 2 1 2 3 I have been to this Dr. for over 20 years He has never ordered me a physical until I requested one. He quickly dismiss's what I say. More interested in his own hobbies. Has told me more than once once question per visit, is quick to write a perscription and get you out of his office. I don't see him taking much notes if any. Problem is it's hard to get a good doctor to take on a new patient.  Respond

22/05/10 3 2 3 3 Hes a good Doctor, his tarteness could be better but in this Country with our Health care system set up the way it is its designed so that we will have to wait so that the Doctor will be paid less. The government makes major claw backs on our health care practioners so we can't blame them for taking there sweet time with us. So before we complain about them we should ask ourselves a very simple question, if your boss told you that he/she was going to pay you the same even if you gave twice the productivity from what you are giving them presently; how inclined would you be to get a move on for them ???  Respond

28/02/10 3 2 3 3 Hes a great doctor if you want stuff, (doctors notes, referals to specialists, pain meds etc etc etc...) I just wish he was more punctual. But like the earlier blog I read on here, the fact is in this country there is a doctor shortage and we need them more then they need us and given the alternative of having an american style system where if you had the money you can get the cadillac service you want or if you are without the means to afford any care you are without the service entirly; I'll stick with the system we have now.  Respond

15/01/10 3 3 4 5 I like him very much. I think if you are a decent patient you will receive the best care from him. He is smart, and will explain to whatever level you can handle. he is very busy but all MD's in this province are taxed and you would be surprised at the restrictions they have upon them as a business. I think his care and diagnosis are both excellent / Consider yourself fortunate if he is your MD.  Respond

06/08/09 5 4 5 5 If you have anything negative to say about this MD then: 1) have the decency to tell him 2) find another MD In any other field, negative comments like this would be grounds for a slander lawsuit. How about we start a RATE MY PATIENTS site?  Respond

06/08/09 2 2 4 5 Dr. G has been my doctor for several years. He is very intelligent and knoweledgeable so for that I am pleased to have him. He does seem to dismiss your own opinion at times and it's nearly impossible to get an answer on the phone to book an appointment. I am thinking of switching doctors for that reason alone, long wait times as well.  Respond

17/05/09 3 1 3 3 I think he is ok as doctors go. One time a while back I stopped seeing him because of the puctuality but the next doctor and the one after that was just as bad so I went back to him. The fact of the matter is is that in Canada, theres going to be wait times almost anywhere you go to see a doctor and most doctors these days dont want to take on new patiets because its easier to just see someone as a walk in so if you have a family doctor its best to keep them and tolerate the wait times. We need them more then they need us so buck up and accept it.  Respond

04/04/09 5 3 5 5 Thorough and knowledgeable. Efficiently manages all pertinent medical problems. Wait times on walk-in are unpredictable...but this is the norm in all offices. Makes me feel comfortable and takes the time to explain things to me. Overall, I am very pleased with his service.  Respond

27/03/09 5 5 5 5 THE BEST Solid knowledge base. Efficient in his visits. Can't have everything....the good MDs require a wait at times! Has not done me wrong in more than 15 years! You are SOOO lucky if he is your MD!!  Respond

18/02/09 1 1 1 3 My husband went to Dr. G for 15 years. In all that time, he was never given a physical or an ECG, despite having a heart condition. This Dr. has one agenda: how quickly can he write a prescription and get you out of his office. His "chair-side" manner is non-existent unless you count his complaining about his ex-wife, his computer system or that patients take up too much time by asking too many questions. This Dr. even has a SIGN in the exam room that says patients can only ask about one health concern at each appointment! He takes no notes during exams, he arrives with prescription pad in hand as the best way to get you out fast. There is no real compassion or caring in this individual. Thank goodness my husband now sees an excellent doctor.  Respond

12/02/09 4 4 5 5 Staff manages a wide variety of personalities and demands quite well. The rare cases where a patient is offended is par for the course....can't please everyone. (Those offended should leave the practice NOW: There are literally dozens waiting to take your place) He is pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient but not abrupt if not appropriate. He appears to be very to the point. No idle chit chat...cuts to the chase and requests the appropriate tests or prescribes the right medications, gives the right advice. He seems to have found the balance between expedited care and patients leaving with a sense of well being. I will never give him up as my MD  Respond

17/12/08 3 2 3 5 He is quite knowledgeable and helpful but he does make inappropriate remarks at times. I have seen him for a few years now and truthfully, he doesn't seem to respect your OWN opinion about your OWN body ! Getting a referral can sometimes be like pulling teeth. It is a little ridiculous how he seems to dismiss his patient's health concerns at times. And let's face it, he has a lot of walk in's because the staff never answer the phone to schedule an appointment during the day time !  Respond

11/09/08 2 3 5 5 Dr. G has been our family doctor for about 18 years since I had my daughter. Yes, the whole waiting game is quite frustrating especially when you specifically make an appointment to see him, walk-ins and appointments at the same time don't work well, he really needs to fix this issue. But he has always been very attentive and caring, calling us at home to see how we were. He is quite funny and personable. I have no idea how he keeps our history straight - think it's all computerized. But with us, he knows everything so well. I would recommend him to anyone.  Respond

08/07/08 4 2 3 4 Sometimes a long wait but hey -- this is Canada. A little alarming that he doesn't appear to refer to notes, but generally our experience with Dr. G. has been good. Staff can sometimes be short with patients on the phone but I have found that if you are nice to them they are pleasant in return. Funny how that works... I'm perplexed that previous posters have made reference to his personal life. I don't know nor do I particularly care to know my Doctor's marital issues. I hope for his sake that he's well and happy. He is certainly a competent, caring, and well-informed physician and that is all that my family asks of him.  Respond

18/02/08 4 1 2 4 Back in the day, Dr. G was great! But it seems ever since his wife left him, he has become disrespectful and doesn't seem to care. It has always been that if you are a walk in, you have to wait, that’s logical. BUT, if one has an appointment, you shouldn't have to wait 1 or 2 hrs to see him. Walk-ins are getting in before you, who cares that they were there first, they are a "Walk-In", I have an appointment. I had an appointment for a physical the other day and had to wait 1.5 hrs before I saw him, at least 6 others went ahead of me and yes they were walk ins, I asked. He gives me a spiel on the new studies and how it is unnecessary to get a pap every year. My physical boiled down to this: Blood pressure, looked at ears, listened too chest, stretched my legs and I was fully clothed. He made out the requisition for blood work and that was it?! What kind of physical was that?! I am now looking for a new doctor. I think he should stick to giving seminars. See ya Dr G!!  Respond

01/02/08 5 3 5 5 They say that laughter is the best medicine...this is definitely the best doctor for that. Always in a great mood and I always end up laughing my head off even when I'm really sick. I'm sure he has his bad days but when you deal with the public, there has got to be some people that you just want to kick out of your office!!!  Respond

09/01/08 5 4 5 5 Have been with Doctor G for 15 years. Very easy going but also very professional, especially with serious issues. Have to wait a bit to see him due to the office being very busy. Very personable.  Respond

24/10/07 5 3 5 5 He has been my famalies doctor since 1990 and I wouldn't change. I now live on the other side of Toronto but still see him. He is thorough and explains things in layman's terms. He is interested in all family members even when they aren't present. He is always friendly and makes a person feel very comfortable to discuss their medical issues. His practice is extremely busy and there is a moderate waiting period from the appointment time but usually not more than 20 minutes or so which is tolerable. He will also do his best to "squeeze you in" when you need to see him on short notice.  Respond

27/07/07 5 3 5 5 He has been my family doctor for about 17 years! I think he is great and always helpful. I have a great comfort level with him and do not trust any other doctor!  Respond

11/06/07 1 4 4 With regards to punctuality, he is terrible. For almost every appointment, I have waited at least an hour to see him. This is quite frustrating. On the plus side, he spends a lot of time speaking to the patients. He will listen to your symptoms and will spend quite a bit of time explaining things to you and giving you the proper care. He does, however, also spend quite a bit of time discussing topics that have very little to do with medicine, which is why he is always running late!  Respond

07/05/07 4 5 5 He has been our family doctor for 14 years now. We have quite a history of medical concerns ( sutism, cancer, rare tumours, and celiac disease) and he has been knowledgeable, supportive, respectful, and very responsive. He takes him time with each of us and although we ususally have to wait a bit- I think the time he spends with his patients is worth it. Even though we no longer live in the area we travel to Mississauga for his care.  Respond

07/05/07 1 2 3 I used to take my family to see this doctor. He was rude and arrogant, and after one yearly check-up for my young daughter I left his office forgetting something in the examination room. when I walked back in, I found him talking unfavourably about my daughter to a nurse. I immediately found another doctor, but should have reported him to the College of Physicians and Surgeons (which I may now do thinking back on this incident)  Respond
