3/23/12 | 3 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I was so happy to have my first appointment with Dr. Bashai after waiting for 9 months to get in! He was calm, kind, and very helpful. This was my first visit to a psychiatrist as an adult and I was very anxious about it but he made me feel as comfortable as I possibly could. He listened to me, didn’t dismiss what I was saying, and came to some really good conclusions. Very glad I was able to see a Doctor who cares about helping his patients. | Respond |

3/16/12 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | Dr Beshai is great at what he does. He has always been kind and he always takes the time to listen. He works very hard and sees many patients. There may be a wait but he is well worth it! | Respond |

1/23/12 | 1 | 3 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Beshai is one of the most caring & compassionate people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. He's attentive, proactive & willing to help in any circumstance. He's helped not only me, but counselled my family as well to gain understanding about my condition. The only issue I have; his receptionist. RUDE, arrogant, & apparently incapable of doing her job. Will NOT answer the phone, but quite happy to chat on her cell (witnessed as I've waited). Have called for appointments to hear old info from the previous month about when the Dr.'s are in etc. It's better just to show up & book an appointment, as this receptionist won't allow messages on the system & does not return calls. Faxing doesn't seem to work either. Too bad, Dr. Beshai, his patients & his associates deserve better. I'm sure this situation must be offputting to other patients & frustrating for the Dr.'s too. Other than this issue, he is an excellent Dr. & the office stuff shouldn't reflect on the contribution he makes. | Respond |

2/4/11 | 3 | 3 | 5 | 5 | I saw Dr. Beshai recently while in the ER at the Red Deer hospital. He happened to be the psychiatrist on call that day. I found him to be very understanding, patient, and helpful. He adjusted one of my meds and I am doing much better. | Respond |

10/3/10 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Beshai needs to slow down. But he loves his patience so much that he takes on anyone in need. He is only human, just like us normal folk. People really relay on a doctor to help them in several areas of their lives. His office is packed. He hears neative all the time. Sometimes problems are repeated over and over. However every person is unique. Dr. Beshai is exstremely smart and helpful. But in saying that he many need help too. Even though as patients we feel mistreated or pissed off that he is late. But if there was not someone like him who has a million patients then who would you turn to. That is why I say he is a great doctor. | Respond |

7/13/10 | 3 | 3 | 5 | 5 | While I have found his receptionist to be abrupt/rude and he never seems to be on time (which is partially because he tends to be overbooked or has people dropping in to see him - he is THE ONLY psychiatrist I have ever heard of that has walk-in hours) he is extremely knowledgable and patient. He listens to what I have to say, acknowledges my feelings, stressors and symptoms and encourages me. He has been incredibly patient with me. I originally met him at the RDRH when I had a major panic attack and my former psychiatrist told me to "suck it up" and I felt comfortable with him right away. After several med changes (I think we were both frustrated by then), I have found a balance and he continues to check in on me. I have recently moved home for the summer and am moving to Edmonton to go to school in the Fall and thus far I continue to drive to see him and will most likely still do so once I live in Northern Alberta. I highly recommend him! | Respond |

9/13/09 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | He has to be the worse doctor that I have seen for my depression. When he found out I was originally from NFLD he had the nerve to say that he would be depressed too. I was extremely upset one night because I PROMISED me that he would get me a bed at the Red Deer hospital and wouldnot send me to Ponoka...nextmorning he never had the nerve to show his face when they carted me off to Ponoka...when I seen him 3 MONTHS later he said that he didn't want me to die on his ward. I hate that man with a passion...it is because of him that I am still a zombie today with the 9 different drugs that he had me on at onetime...the 3 different doctors I have seen since have told me because of his bad judgement with the perscriptions that I have 57% of my memory and brain camapity left. thanks alot **** for ruining my life...wish I had to die on your ward:( | Respond |

1/27/09 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 5 | I have been seeing Dr. Beshai since 2004. I find him intelligent and insightful. He is conservative with medications, and has always encouraged me to do everything I can to make my situation (depression, anxiety, addiction), better without the use of alot of drugs. I have been hospitalized with him several times, he works very long hours but always is there to make sure he sees all his patients. I have since moved to northern Alberta, and for the last three years or so he is still willing to see me via telehealth service in the town I live in. He was a brain surgeon, and is head of he Psychiatry department for the David Thompson Health Region. He is very caring and thorough, and even with his very ill patients he makes time for them. | Respond |

9/24/08 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 2 | Doesn't listen, doesn't care, and jumps to his own conclusions about what you are saying. I was very badly mislabelled by him when I had to see him for a rx. refill when my dr. couldn't make my ap't. That screwed things up badly for me for months while she tried switching my meds around due to what he wrote in my chart. I was flabbergasted! | Respond |

7/27/08 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | At first he seemes that he realy cared, then he said that he did not trust me in what I had to say( this was the first visit)> Hw told me that he would take me on as a patient then the next day I god a call from one of his staff to not to come in for my appointment because he did not want to see me again. This is not what a suicidally patent wants hw hear. I cried for weeks. | Respond |

7/25/08 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Great doctor , helped me through a tough time. He never made me feel awkward and never told me that I was hopeless. I dont understand why these people are saying that he is not knowledgeable. If you think that you are more knowledgeable why dont you go to medical school and open your own practice. | Respond |

3/4/08 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 2 | Should not be allowed to pratice in Canada! College and Physicians should get the true and honest facts from all of the past and present patients! Then, and only then will the truth of how effective he is, triumph over everyone's opinions! If he was a good doctor, he would of allowed patients like the one who came into the clinic complaining about the effects of their new meds, to seek another doctors opinion! Which is what that patient had requested! As long as we have doctors policing doctors, the problems in the Canadian system will never be corrected! | Respond |

2/14/08 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr Beshai is very easy to approach, and he is an excellent listner. He is very well attuned to social and work-place dynamics which lead stress and depression. He is patient and evry understanding and helpful. His knowledge of his specialty in superior. Hence he is very busy but very accomodating and pleasant. | Respond |

7/16/07 | 5 | 1 | 4 | 5 | Although he seems to run behind all the time he really is a compassionate man who cares about his patients. He is overworked by people who want letters filled out for insurance when they are able to work. In turn taking advantage of his time as well as the system. If more people got off the couch and went to work instead of spending hours waiting for forms, he wouldn't always be so tired! | Respond |
|
7/11/07 | 4 | 1 | 4 | 4 | I have been seeing him for 3 months now and he is a very nice man some times I think he is not listing to me and is thinking about other things but over all he is good and I have never seen a doctor work so many hours he is ALWAYS late but is worth the wait. | Respond |

7/7/07 | 4 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I was a patient of Dr. Beshai for about 3 years. I first met him in the hospital psyc ward. Despite his broken english, and the occasional nodding off, He was able to help me through a very critical and severe depression. He was always there for me, I don't think he ever missed an apointment. He cared not only for my well-being, but also was concerned for my daughter (then in her late teens). He provided an occupational therapy program, which helped me to regain self-esteem and confidence. Over the years, I had gained a lot of respect for this doctor. He gave me the confidence to go on with my life and become a productive part of society. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family. I am not surprized to learn that he has become the head of the pychiatric department. He was a hard and dedicated worker. | Respond |

3/30/07 | 3 | 2 | 3 | Dr. Beshai has been my psychiatrist for 2 years now, and I agree with the comment about his heavy accent, I find him not making sense at times. It seems as though he's always looking for a problem in your life to blame your issues on, rather than just resting assured that you have a mental illness. I do like the fact that he always makes sure to ask about my family, how my child is doing, it makes me feel a bit more relaxed. | Respond
|
3/28/07 | 3 | 4 | 4 | Saw him for a period of time a few years ago when I was going through an extremely difficult time. He has a strong accent and not easy to understand, and at times I thought he was dozing while I was talking. But he really did help me to figure out my triggers and set me on the path to wellness. | Respond

3/22/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I have been seeing Dr. Beishai for 10 yrs. Never once did he say there is nothing else I can do for you. He is always there when I need him. Very compasionate, understanding...never makes you feel that you should not be there. Very insighful. He is the head of the pyschiatry Dept., and told me once all he really looks forward is to help his patients. Very kind man. Never abrupt, good listener and a lot of patience. | Respond |
