He is a wonderful doctor. Caring, extremely knowledgeable. He answers all questions, gives you the time needed and answers his phone off hours if you have questions. Puts you at ease. In addition to being a great surgeon, he understands that women don't want scars (if possible). His technique left no scar whatsoever. And his staff is so helpful.

He takes the time to explain the procedure and makes each patient feel special. Besides saving my life, he works like a plastic surgeon and even other doctors remark about his work. I had a large phyllodes tumor that had recurred and he took his time to ask questions and explain what the options were. He and Dr. Talmor who did the reconstructive surgery were fantastic and I was very happy with outcome. Dr. Sistel has a very nice manner about him and I was impressed that he checked in on me at the hospital making sure I knew what the final outcome of the surgery was and that I was comfortable. Dr. Swistel is brilliant and with my annual visit to him, I have peace of mind for the next 364 days! My sister died young of breast cancer and after being examined and getting my annual clean bill of health from him, I feel renewed for another year.

Dr. Swistel is absolutley top notch. Very caring, makes you feel comfortable at first meeting. I had a lumpectomy with a tiny scar around areola. Wonderful job, I highly recommend him.

I have been seeing doctor Swistel for 6-7 years? I am BRCA1 postive so I have regular screenings and am having a prophylactic nipple sparing mastectomy upcoming. I would rate him at the top of his field. He has done more breast surgeries than any other doc in NY state I read. I trust him and there are few doctors I can say that about. I love his secretaries. They always call me back, are patient with my long stories, and always have a recommendation for my questions. Though I knew Dr. Swistel was going to do my surgery I did my homework and consulted with Sloan-Kettering. Dr. Swistels approach to this surgery has a much better cosmetic outcome, ( scar hidden under the breast ), he has more experience ( has done over 100 opposed to 50 at Sloan with the doc I consulted). I have found him current with his knowledge and treats my ideas and questions with respect. He is caring and professional.

Dr. Swistel is a very skilled surgeon, who explains every detail with calm and detail. He is constantly exploring new ways of doing surgery and preserving the breast, whenever possible. Although he recommended a lumpectomy, I chose a nipple sparing double mastectomy, which he excels at.

Dr. Swistel is wonderful; he's a great surgeon, a concerned doctor, and a nice guy. He's very reassuring but realistic. He's been taking care of me for 8 years and (except for his useless secretaries) I have only great things to say about him.
