05/06/14 1 1 2 3 I've seen him a few times and the wait times are terrible and he leaves the door open so everyone can hear. He also didn't change the paper on the exam table from the last patient. He seems a bit off hand, and as if he's just putting in time until he retires. Asked if I was under stress for physical problems like dizziness, which is insulting. He has a tendency to send you for lots of tests that are months away which is a big problem if you are suffering from dizziness. He also has the rudest receptionist you could imagine, she's rude in person and over the phone, I actually had to tell her to stop it or I would go to another doctor. She needs to be fired.  Respond

24/03/14 1 1 1 1 Extremely rude receptionist! Didn't even want to see this doctor after the way I was treated. After looking at the reviews I can see that I'm not the only one they have been rude to.  See Responses

01/08/12 3 3 5 5 I have been a patient of Dr. Wade's for more than 35 yrs. He is extremely knowledgeable, honest and skillfull ENT and surgeon. Yes, one might have to wait past their scheduled appt but Dr. Wade is worth the wait. I would never consider any other ENT Specialist!  Respond

03/07/12 1 1 3 4 Had a 3 45 appointment. By 4 30 I saw that there were still 2 people ahead of me. I had a 5 00 commitment, so had to leave. I suggested to the receptionist that they call "clients" when they know there is going to be a hour delay. She said "not our policy". Yeah, I figured that. I won't be back but he doesn't care. He is overbooked anyways.  Respond

21/02/12 2 4 5 5 Dr.Wade performed my tonsillectomy back in 2007 and is very good at what he does. His staff could use a bit of improvement but thankfully my dealings with them were limited. He is an excellent surgeon and glad that my family doctor referred me to him for this procedure.  Respond

09/08/11 5 4 5 5 Dr. Wade has years of experience and well worth the wait to see him. He is kind and considerate and does not rush you out of the office. Office staff are pleasant and cordial despite being very busy.  Respond

04/07/11 2 2 1 1 My experience with Dr. Wade was very disappointing. Beyond the basic hearing tests and looking into my ears with an otoscope, he had no interest whatsoever in exploring what might have caused my tinnitus, or ruling out any possible underlying condition it might be a symptom of. He told me to stop harping about it and learn to live with it. I wasn't "harping" as he put it, I was merely asking questions, and telling me to stop harping was his way of dismissing them. Although he told me I have to live with it, he didn't offer any advice on how to do so. I had to go home and do my own research and then request tests through my family doctor to rule out some of the many medical conditions that can cause Tinnitus when there has been no trauma to the inner ear. It makes me wonder how many people are out there suffering with Tinnitus that is actually treatable if diagnosed properly. Find a doctor that will make an effort to conduct the proper testing and actually has some interest in Tinnitus, unlike Dr. Wade.  Respond

21/04/11 5 1 5 5 I have been going to Dr Wade now for a number of years. I forst went after years and years of chronic debilitating ear infections... others kept putting me on more and moe anitbiotics which didn't work. Dr Wade set up a preventative regime for me, squeezed me in when needed, and so far so good... He is considerate, listens to my concerns, is thorough and well I think he's pretty good frankly. I see lot of specialists for other treatments such as my cancer and I wish I had more like him.  Respond

17/06/10 5 4 5 5 I saw Dr. Wade recently regarding a tinnitus hearing problem. An attentive and helpful audiologist ran a hearing test on me. I then had a bit of a wait to see the doctor, but I didn't mind because he was very busy. When my turn came he carefully explained my condition all the while with friendly demeanour and eye contact. Likewise he answered all my questions, and did not attempt to rush me whatsoever. All told one of the best (if not the best) interactions I've had with a doctor. Bravo Dr. Wade!  Respond

02/12/09 4 2 3 2 Dr. Wade ruined my nose. I was a teenager with a deviated septum. He broke my nose so badly in the surgery that I had a cast that covered my whole forehead and cheek area. Sure my nose was now straight but twice the thickness! He kept telling me it was just swelling and it would reduce in time. Months later he finally admitted the bones had "opened up" and that I would need a 2nd. surgery to fix it. I threatened to sue him and he assured me he would fix it free of charge. I had the 2nd. one year later and he insisted on "lifting" the tip. Boy I wish I could go back to my slightly crooked "normal" looking nose. I don't recommend Dr. Wade to anyone wanting a nose job.  Respond

02/10/09 3 1 3 3 I agree with all of the comments critical of this doctor. The wait is RIDICULOUS - expect not to be seen for at least 45 min. after your scheduled time. There is no privacy - the door remains open during your visit and sometimes he talks loudly enough for people in the waiting room to hear. I don't think he really listens to patient concerns or is interested in their input at all. I knew exactly what was wrong with my nose and what needed doing in terms of treatment. He didn't listen to me at all and sent me to THREE other time-consuming specialists. GUESS WHAT!?! The "official" diagnosis was exactly what I had told him from my first visit. Because of this I am not sure I would trust him to perform surgery or to provide recommendations on my condition. Knowledgeable he might be, but he doesn't know it all. He is very blase about the number of surgeries he performs and doesn't really take the time to explain things. Those who love him must really have blind faith in all doctors.  Respond

14/03/09 5 5 5 5 I went to Dr Wade after being diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.. the doctor that diagnosed me didn't even bother to meet with me, just told me to go spend thousands of dollars on a CPAP machine. I was 30 years old at the time and didn't want to have to use a machine for the rest of my life. Dr. Wade met with me, took one look at my tonsils and said they were huge and had to come out... two months later (a short wait for an operation), tonsils removed... I no longer have sleep apnea and I don't have to wear a machine to sleep. Thanks Dr. Wade... You are truly a gem.  Respond

05/08/08 4 4 5 5 My appointment took a total of two hours however I was warned in advance it may take that long because a hearing test would be done. I liked Dr. Wade very much. He was friendly and made me feel at ease. He's a happy person and appears to like what he does for a living which makes for a better doctor/patient experience. My appointment was to address hearing and balance issues. He was compassionate, knew his stuff and explained everything is simple terms. My visit was very worthwhile and I would definitely recommend Dr. Wade.  Respond

08/02/08 5 3 5 5 Dr. Wade is very knowledgeable and has made quite an impression on the field he is currently in. From what I understand he also has a background in dentistry. If you go to the downtown office, there is a queue system, so expect to wait awhile (although this is common in most specialist's offices). I think the first comment is from an individual who has a few too many problems, perhaps stemming from their "concussions", and really should be disregarded by anyone with a serious concern for a situation they are in. He is the best in Toronto as far as E.N.T.'s are concerned. Good Luck, although you won't need it with Dr. Wade on your case.  Respond

15/08/07 3 1 2 3 I was referred by my family doctor & had high hopes that Dr. Wade would solve my balance problems but instead he used the "stress" diagnosis which is the usual catch-all when a doctor doesn't know something or doesn't want to take the time. Also uncomfortable that he did not close the doors of the examination room while talking to me. There was no confidentiality while people walked by could hear our conversation. He had the nerve to say that I'd "seen a lot of doctors" which should not be his concern especially since I'd suffered a concussion & had been dealing with the after effects from this. He seemed like a nice enough guy but my experience was not satisfactory.  Respond

18/04/07 5 5 5 Dr. Wade may have literally saved my life. I had what I thought was swollen glands (due to the diagnosis of an incompetent FP). I took it upon myself to get a second opinion and booked an app't with Dr. Wade. He knew by looking at me that I had cancer and immediately referred me to an Oncologist at a Toronto Hospital. I was properly assessed and staged level 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma and started treatment within one month.  Respond
