29/10/12 5 5 5 5 I don't understand previous negative comments. My consultation was excellent. After years (25 since my last relatively unsuccessful operation), of dealing with pain and discomfort; to have things clearly explained and visually shown, was a great relief. MRI scheduled, and when done, operation scheduled quickly. People deal with pain differently (in fact, FEEL pain differently). I haven't had an operation yet, but there appears little or no negative feedback concerning his skills as a surgeon. I actually found his secretary very helpful. (Maybe she is new?) I think it depends on what you expect.

16/08/12 4 5 5 5 This man is God with a scalpel...he truly is amazing. He makes it effortless and his bedside manner is the best I've encountered in over 30 years. He has the ability to put everyone, patient mostly importantly at ease, he is prompt, excellent with explanation, beyond average follow up care...etc..I could go on and on! He is truly the best and if you are fortunate enough to get him you are in very good hands!!  Respond

09/08/12 4 4 1 3 Being a medical professional myself I don't really care about the Dr. bedside manner but this Dr. was particularly bad. After he looked at my CT scan he told me that I would need surgery. His examination was.... He lifted up my top at the back and looked at my spine for about 15 sec. He did not check nerves or tightness in the muscles nothing. His report of the visit was completely incorrect as I had the opportunity to read it. He just kept saying you will be back. Stay away from this man.  Respond

25/04/12 3 5 5 5 Thank you, thank you Dr. Padilla. I was in the for over three years and got the run around from other doctors. One visit to Dr. Padilla and then surgery and the problem was gone. No more pain and I got my life back.  Respond

29/09/11 1 1 1 1 This so called doctor had to be the worst specialist I have ever encountered. He was rude and inconsiderate. All he cared about was his next game of golf. The medical board should check into this doctor. And I'm not going to mention how ignorant his receptionist was...........  Respond

24/08/10 1 1 1 1 This guy was an awful doctor that didn't even get out of his chair and had the nerve to tell me about the 3 sisters of pain meds and how I shouldn't take them. He has no idea what he is talking about and seems to make things up as he goes along. I went into his office and I had not slepted for months from pain and he was going on about how I had no pain. I would not recommend this guy to anyone he doesn't work for you he works for someone else, obviously. Don't trust this man I have exrays that says this guys is out to lunch. If you have a loved one don't go to this guy trust me on that.  Respond

17/08/10 3 5 5 5 Thank you for agreeing to operate on me, Dr. Padilla. Thank you for being forthright and honest about everything surgery-related. Most of all thank you for restoring my quality of life again. My back surgery was performed in May of 2010; my leg and my back are now pain-free (August of 2010). In May of this year I was in terrible shape. Now I can enjoy life again.  Respond

16/06/10 1 3 1 3 He seems to know about nerves and spines BUT this Dr seemingly has an ego problem.Step over his line and uh oh...My dr asked him a question about a possible surgical procedure to remedy progressively worsening crippling leg pains and he was unable to get passed that.He explained the horrible shape of my lower back as he viewed the CT scan very graphically, but never offered any solutions...just told me how horrendously horrible the operation was and that we were NOT to ask about procedures. Told me to go home and wait for my back to fuse.Told me I could do whatever we felt best to deal with the pain..he said I could see a voodoo dr if I felt that would help but NEVER ask him for an operation! His written reply to my Primary dr refererred to a person who complained of back and body pain??? I was specifically sent to him for "leg pain". I travelled over 1000 km to be sent home with more questions than answers and still in severe pain.I would not recommend this Dr.  Respond

11/01/10 1 3 5 5 Dr. Padilla is great... he gets to the point and defiantly tells you like it is. No messing around. His RECEPTIONIST however, is awful. Clearly she has never had any back pain of any kind in her life. There is no need for her to be as rude and mean as she is. She is not Empathetic at all and I think if you are in a position such as this you should have some compassion for people that are in a lot of pain. If I could go elsewhere I would but I really like Dr. Padilla. The worst part is you can't even say anything to her because she would move you to the bottom of the list. Dr. Padilla hire someone with just an ounce of feeling and it would be better than what you have. Again, no body needs to be that mean, she can run that office perfectly and still be kind and sympathetic. I would never want to wish my pain on anyone but when it comes to her she needs to feel what it is like to be in constant pain.  Respond

01/11/09 4 5 5 5 I am currently under Dr. Padilla's care and have been fir 4 years. He is very careful and specific in his description of my stenosis ++ with my back. He is clearly not looking for $$ as he is specific in saying 'now is not the time'. his unspoken advice is 'surgery if necessary' but 'not necessarily surgery'. He makes me think. I would advise anyone with back problems to consult with him.  Respond

17/09/09 5 5 5 5 Great Doctor, Gave me back my life. 5 months ago I had back surgery I was in terrible pain with my back and sciatica, living on pain medication, I am now doing very well still have some nerve pain but can control it with very little pain medication Dr.Padilla told me it could take up to a year for nerves to heal and it's only been 5 months. Great bedside manner makes you laugh Great Doctor I would reccomend him to to anyone.  Respond

03/04/09 5 5 5 5 The wait time was minimal, the office and hospital staff were extremely efficient and curteous. My back surgery has been a tremendous success, I felt much better as soon as I woke from the anestetic.  Respond

22/03/09 3 3 2 2 I had 2 back surgeries with this doctor - both unsuccessful, I was horrified by his office manner, his "jokes" in bad taste and his bedside manner was just as deplorable. Staff were very wary of him and he had no comprehension whatsoever of pain management. He was dismissive and impatient. I was glad to have just survived the surgeries. On further testing by other specialists there was apparently no evidence of the surgery that he said he had done. I had mediocre results that lasted approx 3 or 4 months and then I was incapacitated again. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone else I know.  Respond

30/07/08 4 4 3 4 Padilla does what Padilla does best...cut. After the back surgery failed, he threw up his hands and said I was SOL...unless I wanted another operation, pretty convenient for his bottom line. Do the research, surgical intervention is always a last resort, not a panacea.  Respond

04/12/07 5 5 5 5 Ten years ago I had a brain tumour. Luckily it was benign, but even so it required highly skilled surgery. Dr. Padilla not only saved my life but left me with virtually no deficits. I cannot speak too highly of him.  Respond

09/07/07 5 5 5 5 As my life went down the toilet and WCB ignored the problem.. they insisted that my only problem was actually in my head. Dr. Padilla told it like it was and addressed all the damage to my back and then with great speed got me in and operated.. WCB be dammed. He gave me my life and my job back... so I no longer could participate in many of the sports I loved to do.. The absolute plus is I went from not being able to stand.. Sit.. Lie down.. Drive.. Or eat with losing most of what I had attempted to consume.. To.. Being able to not only walk but also run again.. Dance.. Hike.. Ride my bike.. Cross county ski..LIVE.. And with a few adjustments to furnishings in home and at work I am basically pain free and mobile. Thank you with all my heart Dr. Padilla and I will always remember to 'take care and not ruin your great work'.

19/03/07 5 5 5 Extremly knowledgable. He pays attention to what you have to say. Although he is very to the point and does expect his patients to heed his advise, he is a gentle man with a sensitivity you don't expect from a man of his status. I would go anywhere in the world to find him if I needed surgery again. I hear some MD's would too.  Respond
