Dr.Mckim is a great person but I'm trying to find a new GP. Mostly due to it being almost impossible to get in to see him and his staff being downright horrible. He tends to not take complaints seriously at times aswell.

I had the misfortune of having Dr. McKim treat me when I recently visited the emergency dept. Not only did he total disregard a note from a clinic doctor asking to give me a chest xray, he didn't even check my breathing. He diagnosed me with the stomach flu and sent me home. 24 hours later I was admitted to hospital with double pneumonia. The specialist at the hospital and my family doctor have both registered a complaint against him.

I was pleased with Dr. McKim as a doctor. Scheduling is a problem, so it is best to get an appointment at the start of the day. It is difficult to get thru to his ofiice by telephone.

Dr. Mckim, if you're lucky enough to get him, is amazing. Easily one of the best, if not the best, doctor I've ever had; I've had some pretty damn good ones. The guy simply knows his stuff, can explain it in layman's terms, gives the patient options instead of instructions, and is very welcoming of questions and concerns. If you dislike Dr. Mckim, you have problems and should ask dr. Mckim to refer you to a psychiatrist.

McKim is a good GP. The problem with him is his lack of office hours - he is only in the office 2.5 days a week. The bigger problem is his support staff. They very poor at answering the phone - they often stay with the answering service till 9:30AM (or later), they usually have a call back message in place for 2 hours during lunch and they often turn the phones over to the answering service by 4:30PM. Thus they provide 5 hours of phone contact per day! The last time I needed an appointment I had to go in to the office to make one. At times the staff have been very rude, inconsiderate, and unhelpful. They have twice lost referrals for my family requiring that we revisit McKim to get things straightened out. They have several times made referral appointments and failed to contact us with the information. Still I've stayed with McKim in spite of the staff issues. Don't quite know if that is a reflection of the difficulty in finding a family doctor or McKim's skill. Probably both.

no professionalism in dr.mckim's office-here's why: he is never in the office half the time and my family has been swung like a pendulum by him and his office through uncalled for consultations. And where we should have had greater attention,my hub and i have suffered becuz of the office's inaction for things that r costing us to this day. Any administrative work I have ever needed to get done from that office, I have had a devil of a time getting done if it gets done at all. leader by e.g.? his sec is not even apologetic or humble in her demeanor for wrong-doing on her or her office's part whenever i have confronted her. the office doesn't even answer the phone half the time. In fact, one time, i had to pull him from the side office where he was cracking jokes w staff on duty after I waited for 30 min in his side office on top of the 30 min i'd waited before as though my time had no value. And he went and said," u in a hurry or something?".

He doesn't have a great bed-side manner and he's very difficult to get in to see. More often than not I've ended up in Emergency for things that don't require me being there - it's a misuse of the system.

i find dr mckim the sweetest, caring doctor i have ever had, and i had quite the few, he takes time to explain everything and seems to be really concerned about his patient.

Dr. McKim is a gentle, warm, kind physician. He treats both myself and my partner with respect and is interested in our health and wellness and takes a collaborative approach. He also knows when to refer or get a specialist's opinion and gets results...very persistent. He also takes a holistic view to health.
