08/07/14 5 5 5 5 Dr. Parker is an amazing and talented surgeon who cares about his patients. I developed fibroids in my twenties. Fearful of surgery in such a delicate area, I opted to “wait and see”. By 2013, my largest fibroid had grown to be 10.8cm and almost 2lbs. It became a profound source of anxiety and a huge (literally and figuratively) mental, physical, and emotional burden. After a less than favorable consultation visit with a robotic surgeon, I did more research and found Dr. Parker. When I met with Dr. Parker, he was patient, down-to-earth, humble, and personable. He took the time to answer my questions in a way that exhibited his experience and expertise. Long story short, I had a laparoscopic myomectomy on June 5, 2014. Dr. Parker removed 3 fibroids and a right paraovarian cyst during a 3hr surgery without the necessity for a blood transfusion. In conclusion, I am relieved and thankful that Dr. Parker is there to help women like me.

15/05/14 5 5 5 5 "Dr. Parker got me through my fibroid removal with piece of mind.I researched for someone who can take them out with a less invasive way.Dr. Parker's name came up, and after I read about him, I decided to see him. Then when I met him, I knew I had the right doctor for me. Dr. Parker is a skilled and knowledgeable Doctor/Surgeon, who has a complete package to offer his patients. His warmth, kindness, understanding and compassion puts him in a complete package as a healer. He understood my medical issues completely and told me that I was not a candidate for hysterectomy and because of my Interstitial Cystithis, it was best to do the least invasive method which was Laparoscopic Myomectomy.I was elated, and my anxiety dissipated. After surgery he came to see me in the hospital, and he kept in touch with me by email after I went home. His positive energy and being a great human being first and great doctor second allowed me to heal and recover quickly.

His vast knowledge of uterine fibroids and available treatments, along with his extensive experience in the surgical field are undeniable. From my informative initial consultation to my post-surgery follow ups, I felt assured and informed every step of the way. Dr. Parker patiently answered my countless questions, shared diagrams and articles to further support those answers, went over my MRI results in-depth and even gave me a “high-five” right before my laparoscopic myomectomy! Surgery was a success…and he even phoned me the next morning to check-in! 6 weeks post-surgery and I feel fantastic! My scars are minimal, my energy restored and my mind is at ease. I am back to engaging in an active life. Ladies, I encourage you to be proactive in your healthcare! Seek the healing hands of Dr. Parker! He is truly an expert in his field. 05/05/14 5 5 5 5 Dr. William Parker is a doctor that is truly skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate in what he does I would have never felt comfortable going to my own obgyn doctor. It took me 4 years of research to finally get enough nerve to make the decision to have my fibroids taken out after a 7 year “wait and see period. I made my decision to fly 3000 miles to Santa Monica to see Dr. Parker. I met with Dr. Parker for apx an hour discussing my many options, not once did he mention having a hysterectomy unlike my own doctor and the many other doctors before; I finally felt comfortable and convinced to enlist him as my doctor. I knew I was making the right decision. I chose to have the myomectomy and the rest is history. Dr Parker took out 13 fibroids weighing in at 3lbs. I no longer look six months pregnant! Thank you Dr. Parker for all that you do. Your compassion, knowledge and expertise as a surgeon is refreshing. You are truly a gifted surgeon.  Respond

20/03/14 5 5 5 5 Dr. Parker is a fantastic doctor. He performed a laparoscopic myomectomy to remove my 12x10 degenerating fibroid and thanks to his excellent surgical skills I have healed/recovered quickly. Dr. Parker is the only doctor that recommended a MRI. Others relied on ultrasound. He is also the only doctor that did not recommend Lupron and Aygestin to improve anemia. He suggested iron shots if I failed to raise my levels with iron supplements and an iron rich diet. My long time ob/gyn and others in my area lacked the expertise to perform a myomectomy and generally recommended hysterectomy. Dr. Parker reviewed my medical condition in detail and answered lots of questions! I traveled to LA and both UCLA health and Dr. Parker’s office were excellent. I highly and only recommend Dr. Parker. He has superior knowledge and expertise on uterine fibroids, is a highly skilled surgeon with a calm confidence and most important, he listens to and genuinely cares about his patients.

23/01/14 5 5 5 5 Dr Parker removed 18 fibroids from my body while preserving my uterus after my regular gynecologist told me I should have a hysterectomy and tried to scare me into it by saying I might have cancer. By the the time I found Dr. Parker I was terrified. He layed all my fears to rest and said he could peform a myomectomy with no problems....and he did. Dr. Parker truly cares about women and he truly cares about preseving our uteruses while ridding our bodies of these fibroids. He is passionate about what he does. Not to mention the fact that he is an expert in his field. He teaches other doctors how to perform this surgery. The day Dr. Parker retires, the world will lose a great surgeon. I'm just glad I found him before he retires because he gave me my body back and for that I am forever grateful to him. I am honored to write this review for a truly outstanding surgeon and a wonderful man.

14/01/14 5 5 5 5 I had a wonderful experience working with Dr. William Parker in the removal of a very large fibroid. He saved me from my other Doctor of 15 years that wanted to perform an abdominal hysterectomy. Dr. Parker was able to leave my uterus in tack and perform a laparoscopic myomectomy. I am one month post op and surgery went incredibly smooth along with my recover only (2 weeks). I am back to work and happy I went to him for a 2nd opinion. When I got the referral to him, I googled him & laparoscopic myomectomy...of course there was a YouTube link tied to that search, I hesitated then thought, maybe I should see what the surgery is like before having it. To my surprise, it was a video of Dr. Parker performing the surgery right before my eyes!!!I really felt confident going in what to expect and between his office staff and the surgery I had a wonderful experience all around! Dr. Parker is, gentle, compassionate, skilled and knowledgeable. No wonder he is so highly rated. I give him 10 STARS!

21/12/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Parker is the best physician I received care from. On my first visit, he reviewed my MRI images on a computer screen and showed me where the fibroid was. I have heard and thought that good surgeons can read MRI better than radiologists. He educated me on fibroid research study data and drew pictures of my fibroid. His consultation was so thorough. I was very thankful to Dr. Parker and felt assured to go for a laparoscopic myomectomy. By no surprise, Dr. Parker took great care of me and my surgery went really well. Dr. Parker was patient & caring, calmly answering all my questions. He provided my worried family with the reassurance they needed & introduced us to his INCREDIBLE staff. By my surgery day, my fibroids protruded like a 9 month pregnancy. The staff at St. John's was kind & the anesthesiologist was phenomenal. Dr. Parker got me through surgery with a healthy uterus in about 2 1/2 hours! True to his word, he preserved my fertility! I got out of bed by myself by day 3 & walked a little by day 4. My post-op recovery in the hospital lasted through Labour Day weekend & Dr. Parker came to see me EVERYDAY & called EVERY evening until I was discharged from the hospital! When I left the hospital, I didn't need any pain pills. Today, at about 7 weeks after surgery, my small bikini incision is healing nicely & I feel amazing!

25/07/13 5 5 5 5 I was stunned and flooded with fear when my Dr. told me I had a “giant mass”. She listed options. A HYSTERECTOMY!? I’m athletic and mindful of my body and hadn’t had typical symptoms. It was angering to learn how common it is to remove perfectly good organs. I consulted a Radiologist for UFE. I wasn’t pleased that the best hope was to still have half a grapefruit in my abdomen, or that I could “watch and wait”.?My next option was myomectomy. I feared the fibroid was too big and I would have to live with half treatments. Then I found Dr. Parker. My fear and doubt were instantly relieved. He performed an outpatient laparoscopic myomectomy 2 weeks later. Days after surgery I felt great and wanted to jump into life. Dr. Parker is a patient, authentic, confident craftsman. He valued my body and health. He values what he is doing for women’s health.?With Dr. Parker I was able to take control of my wellness, and I’m grateful. I hope any woman with fibroids grabs the chance to see Dr. Parker.

04/07/13 5 5 5 5 Two years after the birth of my eleventh child, I noticed that the size of my uterus was growing, so much that some thought my twelfth baby was on the way. I tried researching and using natural alternatives to having a hysterectomy -all to no avail. 11 yrs or so having come and gone, I finally came upon Dr. Parker's website, and could not believe what I was reading. What a wealth of knowledge at his site. It seemed too good to be true that someone thought of a myomectomy and that there actually was a physician who was genuine in his dedication to helping women hold on to their uterus'. I cannot express to you Dr. Parker's kind and compassionate spirit. The first time my husband and I met with him he put us at ease, addressed all our concerns and questions, gave realistic options and left me with the hope that at long last I could be free of my tumors, if that is what I would choose to do. So, two months after finding Dr.Parker, he did my myomectomy - removing forty-two fibroids!  Respond

09/04/13 5 5 5 5 I thought I took care of my fibroids five years ago when I underwent Embolization. It relieved the pulling I use to experience, but this minor gain was hardly worth the cramping I experienced over several months and the early menopause that resulted. Worst of all, my enormous 17 cm fibroid never shrank and some of my symptoms returned within three years. I felt like I didn’t have many options having already attempted one procedure. I’d have to live with a bloated belly, the constant need to run to the bathroom and that awful pulling again. My depression sent me in search of an answer. It was minutes after I entered the search term “options for fibroids” that Dr. Parker’s name appeared and the accolades jumped off the page. I had a laproscopic myomectomy that has relieved all of my symptoms, physical and emotional. My advice to anyone suffering from fibroids, regardless of any diagnosis, is to speak to Dr. Parker before you make another decision about your health.

08/04/13 5 5 5 5 When I went for my annual exam and my gynecologist told me she felt a fibroid, I was alarmed. I asked what this could mean, and she said, "Well, it could be cancer." She wanted me to make an appointment for six months later to see if it had grown. The idea of waiting six months to learn my fate seemed like torture. I knew I wanted a second opinion, so I started searching online, and thankfully, I found the fibroid expert, Dr. Parker. First thing out of his mouth was, "It's not cancer." He showed me studies and statistics -- proving how common fibroids are, and how likely it was that my fibroid was not dangerous. He has since monitored it, and I am fine. The peace of mind Dr. Parker gave me was and is priceless. As you can see from my experience, there are irresponsible doctors out there, who can alter your life and state of mind without a second thought. Dr. Parker is definitely one of the good ones. 31/03/13 5 5 5 5 My experience with Dr. Parker was exceptional. I was reassured by his confidence and caring demeanor delivered with warmth and genuine professionalism. After our introductory meeting in Dr. Parker's office followed by and examination and our return to his office, I was informed that I did not need surgery to remove the fibroids or a hysterectomy as recommend by the two previous opinions. He explained that over 80% of women have fibroids and if I wasn't experiencing pain, bleeding or the need to urgently and frequently go to the bathroom, there is no compelling reason for surgery in his opinion. Additionally, we discussed that with no family history of cervical or ovarian cancer that I was not at risk. Dr. Parker recommended yearly exams and also stated that when women reach menopause and no longer have blood supply to the uterus, typically the fibroids would diminish in size by 40%. That indeed is good news! He asked if I had any other questions or concerns which I did not.  Respond

26/03/13 5 5 5 5 Shawana R.- Las Vegas, NV After a disappointing search in Vegas, I started to research for out of state doctors with the skill, expertise, experience, and the reputation of removing large fibroids successfully while keeping the uterus. I needed a second opinion and tumbled onto Dr. Parker’s website and read his bio, information about fibroids, treatments, saw the videos of surgeries of him removing large fibroids, and read the patient comments. Finally I was satisfied that I found the right doctor! I had an abdominal myomectomy through a bikini incision on March 6, 2013 and am doing great! I’m so glad that I waited to have surgery and found Dr. Parker. He IS a doctor with skill, expertise, experience, and a great reputation that patients with large, or any size fibroid can go to and be assured that they will be taken care of and have their surgery done right while keeping their uterus. I have a brighter future now knowing that I can still have children someday. Thank You Dr. Parker!!!  Respond

After trying the natural cure route with no success and also trying some minimally invasive procedures, again without success, I opted for a hysterectomy. Specifically I wanted a Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy. My doctor at UCLA said she couldn’t do it because my uterus was too big. That’s when I found Dr Parker. In our first appointment, Dr. Parker was thorough and patient explaining all of my options and answering all of my questions. 01/01/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Parker saved my ovary. I was recently the victim of a serious car accident that resulted in a number of injuries, several of which still cause me lingering pain and side effects. The first physician I consulted in the immediate aftermath of my accident erroneously determined that one my ovaries had to be removed. I went to Dr. Parker for a second opinion. What I received beyond a mere second set of trained eyes was the calm and expert treatment and care of a doctor I would want any of my loved ones to receive. Dr. Parker reasonably determined that my ovary could be saved and outlined the steps to how this outcome could happen. I am not suggesting that Dr. Parker can magically reverse the natural effects of every trauma or make the clock of inevitability tick backwards. My ob/gyn was willing to remove it, but it would require cutting me open like a c-section. Instead, I opted for Fibroid Embolization. It did not kill the fibroid. Then, a wonderful doctor at UCLA asked if I had heard of Dr. Parker. As he put it, "...he's THE GUY when it comes to fibroids." His staff was lovely, helpful, professional, and ran on time : ) During our consultation, I sat in his office surrounded by photos of his beautiful family. He told me about his kids' achievements and the holiday he had just returned from (I think he was flying planes??), then laid out all my options. 14/08/12 5 5 5 5 When we first found out that most methods weren't effective for my uterine fibroids, my husband and I researched pretty heavily on finding an expert who can help us with my condition. After searching on many reputable medical sites we keep seeing great reviews over and over for Dr. Parker. He has great qualifications, some defining publications in the field, and keeps up with some of the latest medical procedures in fibroid surgery so we booked a consultation. At the office after our records and medical examination, Dr. Parker showed us in detail but laymen's terms what kind of medical procedures, risks, percentages of success, examples of each and recovery time. The operation of removing my fibroids (which were in a tricky area and larger than usual) went better than expected, and as soon as it was over, he was with my husband with a detailed report on the operation. We highly recommend him for his personable manner, advanced skill set, great work ethic, and attention to detail.  Respond

09/07/12 5 5 5 5 Dr. Parker is one of the most honorable Doctors I have encountered. He treated me as a human being. There was no shortage of time for discussing all my possible courses of action to treat my fibroid, including the valid one of "doing nothing." He listened with interest and compassion about my life. I am 48 and still keeping the option of carrying a child open. He is a true listener. We discussed many possible courses of action, and he wrote them all down for me to take home and consider. I left after the initial meeting thinking, this is great, I have lots of options. I felt in control of my decision and my body! I waited close to another year, before I decided enough is enough. A day after the procedure, maybe two, I called the office to see if I could do yoga. They said not to, but I could walk as much as I wanted. The point being that I felt good enough to want to do yoga two days later...

While trying to get pregnant, I had a myomectomy in hopes my problems would be solved. After several attempts of unsuccessful invitro procedures, I finally decided to take a break and hope my body would restore itself. Although Dr. Parker does not accept private insurance, it did not matter because I knew his credentials, expertise and knowledge was what I need for someone to perform the best minimally invasive surgery. I also learned Dr. Parker authored a book for gynecological questions that provides additional information for women to better understand their bodies and second opinions. I was in the right place. My recovery was very successful. I was back in the gym in 2 weeks.  Respond

12/05/12 5 5 5 5 3 years ago I was diagnosed with fibroids during my regular yearly exam. My belly was very large but I had no other symptoms and having just gone through some very stressful life changes I assumed I had put on a lot of weight. My doctor at the time said the only option was hysterectomy and I got hysterical to be honest. I was 36 years old with no children and while my doctor said this was the only solution, I did not agree. Something in my gut told me this was not right. I went to another doctor and got a second opinion. She too said I should have surgery but that it was possible my surgery would potentially turn into a hysterectomy. She was not confident that she could perform a myomectomy. When I got home I jumped online and searched ‘worlds top fibroid specialist’ because at this point I felt as though I needed to find the best, and let me tell you- I did-Dr. Parker! As far as I am concerned, he saved my life.I will never be able to properly express my gratitude to Dr. Parker.  Respond

22/04/12 5 5 5 5 I had consulted with two doctors prior to locating Dr. Parker, regarding my very large 17cm (nearly 7") tumor. “It’s huge” one of the doctors had said. Both doctors recommended a hysterectomy. Although at 45 years old I have no intention of having another child, I very much want to keep all my parts intact. After intense internet research, I located Dr. Parker His credentials were key to my decision to set up a consultation. I was specifically looking for someone who teaches others to do what I needed to have done, someone who has written extensively about the topic, and has performed this surgery innumerable times. It was imperative to me to find someone for whom this surgery was very ordinary. Dr. Parker fits this bill and more. I am now fibroid free with my uterus in tact. Dr. Parker is my ideal surgeon: an exceptionally impressive resume, a genuinely warm disposition and the skill to easily do what others were unable to.  Respond

28/02/12 5 5 5 5 Seeing Dr. Parker was the best thing I could have done! He took more time to review and discuss my options with me than any other Dr. to date had. He seemed to want what was best for me rather than "pushing" for what might have been the easiest procedure (other Drs. recommending either a full or partial hysterectomy). He was reassuring, knowledgable, sensitive to my wishes and just a really nice man. I would recommend Dr. Parker to anyone having fibroid problems who wishes to keep their uterus. I had a successful laparoscopic myomectomy and couldn't happier with results!  Respond

24/01/12 4 5 5 5 Dr. Parker is a uniquely gifted surgeon who did what every other gynecologist assured me was not do-able. He removed a two-pound fibroid from my uterus laparoscopically. He did not compromise nor remove the uterus.(The shocking fact of needless hysterectomies is a whole other story.) In Dr. Parker’s hands, I was home the same day and recovered quickly. He invites all questions, shows you videos, diagrams – all the while demonstrating extraordinary understanding – as well as vast knowledge and experience – that puts him at the forefront of his profession. I spent years – and absurd amounts of money and time in my quest for alternative methods of shrinking my fibroids. Why? Because I was adamantly opposed to a hysterectomy or full-blown abdominal surgery. Dr. Parker was alone in his opinion that he could remove this sizable fibroid of mine laparoscopically. And he did so brilliantly. Run – do not walk – to see him if you need a second, third or twelfth opinion. Andrea Giambrone

05/01/12 5 5 5 5 About a year ago an ultrasound showed that I have a big fibroid in my cervix. Two doctors were telling me that I need abdominal surgery to remove it with potential loss of the uterus. We found Dr. Parker online through his website. We contacted him via email and within days I was scheduled for an appoitment with him. He was very caring and accommodating. After looking at the MRI and examining me he said that I do not need an abdominal surgery and he can remove this fibroid via vaginal myomectomy with no harm to the uterus. . He is the most caring, attentive, patient doctor I have ever met. My first appointment, he spend one hour with me and my family answering questions and concerns. He went over the procedure with us, making sure that we are all comfortable with it. Dr. Parker removed my fibroid and one week later I went back to work. I am so grateful that we found Dr. Parker.  Respond

24/10/11 5 5 5 5 I was 37 years old when I realized that two fibroids (one around 10 cm and one smaller) were making my day-to-day life impossible. I went to four doctors hoping to find one who was willing to perform the surgery laparoscopically. All four doctors informed me that in order to remove the 10cm fibroid, I would have to have a 4-inch bikini incision that involved 3-4 days of hospital stay. Knowing that I wanted to have the surgery done laparoscopically, the fourth doctor (Dr. Michael Johnson at UCLA Medical Center) suggested I make an appointment with Dr. William Parker in Santa Monica. Dr. Parker answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. He showed me diagrams and explained the procedure in detail. The website is loaded with helpful information. Everyone at Dr. Parker’s office is courteous and supportive. Dr. Parker is a very caring physician and an excellent surgeon.

01/09/11 5 5 5 5 I originally saw Dr.Parker in 2004. He was the third doctor I saw about some mysterious constant spotting. He immediately saw that I had a large uterine polyp. He took the time to carefully explain to me what this meant, how it caused the spotting and used diagrams to illustrate how it could all be remedied with a hysteroscopic myomectomy (surgical removal of the polyp). Dr. Parker addressed all my curiosities and concerns while reassuring me this was easily resolvable. It was exciting to finally have answers and solid knowledgeable direction. The entire surgical experience (including recovery) was smooth, just as he said it would be. This year I needed another polyp removed and since it was smaller he was able to remove it during an office visit. Again, my whole procedure was handled with the utmost care and efficiency. Beyond his immense expertise and lies a gentleman with compassion and a genuine willingness to help and heal - and that truly makes all the difference.  Respond

24/06/11 5 5 5 5 I suffered from a large fibroid approx 13cm and interviewed with several of the leading surgeons in LA. Dr. Parker hands down has the most experience and for me I found him to be the most compassionate. I never once felt as though he was in a rush, he thoroughly answered all of my questions which essentially helped me to overcome the fear of having a laparoscopic myomectomy. The laparoscopic technique carries a faster recovery time and less scarring. On the day of surgery, Dr. Parker greeted my mother with such kindness. Post surgery he visited me in the hospital first thing in the following morning and called me the day after that to see how I was feeling. In addition to prescribing pain medications, he also provides a list of holistic remedies to help speed recovery time and lessen pain naturally. He also has a very caring and efficient team that work in his office, and made sure that all of my needs were met. Dr. Parker is in a league of his own. Jackie --Los Angeles CA  Respond

23/02/11 5 5 5 5 Menopause came and went – but my five fibroids didn’t shrink, so I had to address my fibroids directly. After been told they were too large and would require a hysterectomy I was referred to Dr. Parker. Dr. Parker took a lot of time to walk both my husband and me through an assessment of my situation and the alternative treatments available – in plain English, which was most appreciated. With both a professional and kind demeanor, we determined a myomectomy was the way to proceed. The hospital was excellent. The care I received from Dr. Parker and the office staff was superb. Dr. Parker personally called with test results. The procedure’s behind me and I’m back to doing what I used to. While surgery should never be taken lightly, meeting with Dr. Parker and having a myomectomy was definitely the right one for me! The largest of my fibroids was pressing on my bladder – it’ a delight not to be stopping regularly at bathrooms anymore.

21/02/11 5 5 5 5 I went to Dr. Parker for a second opinion for fibroids. I was so impressed with the time and care he took going over all my options and answering ALL my many questions. I had laparoscopic and hysteroscopic myos and endometrial ablation in April 2010. (Dr. Parker never questioned nor asked me to justify my desire to keep my uterus (at age 48), as I later learned some doctors are very apt to do.) I’m very pleased with my results and so glad I had the surgery! Dr. Parker is a remarkable combination of being a highly experienced, skilled gyn/surgeon, up on and involved in current gyn research, including teaching other doctors minimally invasive surgical techniques, while at the same time being a very accessible doctor with excellent patient rapport. These are not qualities and capabilities one often finds all rolled into one doctor. If you are having a gynecological problem, particularly fibroids, he is definitely the doctor to see! 13/02/11 5 5 5 5 Bottom line - a year after my fibroid surgery, at 36, I got pregnant on my first try and had an adorable son.  Over 3 years later, I am still fibroid free.  Dr. Parker's expert surgical care saved my uterus.     The long story- I had dozens of uterine fibroids, ranging in size, that totaled a 5 month pregnancy.  I am the type of person who will try everything prior to surgery and will seek out experts no matter where they. I flew to D.C. to try alternative methods with Dr. Warshowsky, who wrote a book on healing fibroids. Though we tried, mine were too big at the time to change in the year I gave myself to shrink them naturally. The next stop was finding a surgeon who would do his best to maintain my uterus for having children. I, of course, did my research and found Dr. Parker.  He's respected in the medical field and I immediately felt comfortable. He's warm, knowledgeable and an expert in his field. He continues to be my gynecologist.  Rest assured you have come to the right place.   Respond

29/01/11 4 4 5 5 I had a laparoscopic myomectomy done by Dr. Parker in December of 2009. Before I saw him I was scared and confused. Other Drs told me that there is no way to remove my 10 cm fibroid laparoscopicly and they suggested to even remove my utures completely. So I researched to find an expert doctor and surgeon for removing fibroids and I found Dr. Parker. Dr parker is very knowledgable about different options to remove fibroids. He is confident and sincere. He took time to explain all my options and told me with confidence that he can remove my large fibroid with laparoscopicly. When I saw him next to set up my surgery date I mentioned to him about my back problem and so in the operating room he made sure I was put in a comfortable position. After I was out of the recovery room he came to visit. During my recovery at home every time I called his office he called me back soon. He did a great suturing job on my cuts. 14/01/11 5 5 5 5 Dr. Parker saved me from a hysterectomy, and I'll be forever grateful. The doctor I had been seeing did not have time to talk to me about the option of doing nothing. Once Dr. Parker explained what was going on with my condition (uterine fibroids) I understood that waiting was an option: I did not have to rush into surgery. 18/12/10 5 5 5 5 I am a 53 yr old woman in excellent physical shape with a long history of fibroids. My fibroids were uncomfortable and made my stomach distend quite a bit on my very small frame. After being to many gynecologists to discuss my fibroids, the overall conclusion was to wait until menopause and they would shrink. I was so uncomfortable that I finally decided to let my gynecologist perform a abdominal subcervical hysterectomy. Every doctor including my own said that my fibroids were too large to remove laproscopicily. My brother-in-law is a top anestegiologist in Denver and kept telling me that he sees and performs anesthesia on many cases like mine and I needed to find the right doctor. I cancelled my surgery and googled "best laproscopic doctor in Los Angeles". That is where I was fortunate to have found Dr .Parker. I had a laproscopic subcervical hysterectomy 10 days ago and a very successful surgery. If you are looking for the BEST doctor and surgeon, you have now found him!!!!

13/11/10 5 5 5 5 With a huge and fast growing fibroid that enlarged my uterus to a size of 22-week pregnancy, the increasingly severe bulk symptoms affected significantly the quality of my life, mentally and physically alike. Of all the specialists I consulted with, most of them recommended hysterectomy. Only a couple of them offered myomectomy, yet they couldn’t tell me the likelihood of a successful surgery. They did all agree that vertical incision was the only incision type for me. Fortunately, I found Dr. Parker through Yahoo Uterine Fibroids Group, where he is highly recommended by other patients. As a result, not only did Dr. Parker perform a successful myomectomy on me, but he did it with a bikini-line incision to enable faster healing – which NONE of the other 9 doctors I consulted with thought was possible! I really appreciate a good doctor like Dr. Parker, who respects my wishes and, most importantly, is capable of providing a treatment option I need.  Respond

18/08/10 5 5 5 5 I was very shocked and troubled when doctors at both UVA and John's Hopkins recommened a full hysterectomy as their preferred treatment for my ovarian cyst and fiborid. Looking for a FOURTH opinion, I found my way to California and Dr. Parker (after reading his book). His staff was very understanding and helpful; within the week I had an appointment with him. After going over my past test resutls and a physical exam in his office, Dr. PArker assured me he could remove my cyst without removing my ovary, and he could also remove my fibroid without removing my uterus. Now, just four weeks after surgery, I am already back in VA and doing really well. My surgery was a big success. My uterus and ovary are healing well, and both the cyst and fibroid are gone. Dr. Parker is a rare combination of intelligence and compassion. If you are dealing with a cyst and or fibroid, I cann't encourage you enough to call Dr. Parker for an appointment.

Dr. Parker looked at my ultrasound, did a thorough exam, and calmly told me that if and when I wanted to have it removed that he could remove it using Laparoscopy!!!Every other Dr. had said it would be impossible. Dr. Parker performed a laparoscopic myomectomy to remove 10 fibroids, leaving me with my uterus intact. The nurses at the hospital told me he was world-renowned for his surgical skills. I know why. 18/03/10 5 5 5 5 Dr. Parker is wonderful. I saw three other gynecologists before I found him: all told me a hysterectomy was needed to treat my very large (football-sized)uterine fibroid. In addition, in my initial consultations, the first three doctors were too rushed and harried (and repeatedly interrupted by staff) to really address my concerns or answer my questions. I certainly felt the incredible time pressure they were under. In contrast, Dr. Parker talked with me for over an hour to answer all my questions/concerns about my condition, as well as discuss my options. I elected to have a myomectomy (removal of the tumors only) instead of a hysterectomy. (Thank you so much, Dr. Parker, for your approach!) I am convinced that in the future people will look back on the removal of a repairable uterus as questionnable...and the removal of healthy ovaries as incomprehensible. Finally, Dr. Parker's staff reflect the kindness and consideration he shows to patients. They are wonderful also.  Respond

I prefer the fact that he does not take insurance since that limits his practice and allows for better service. I went to him on a consult and he performed a laroscopic surgery for me and did an excellent job when other physicians recommended a more radical method that would have been easier for them but would have had medical consequences for me.
