08/07/14 2 5 5 5 Wonderful doctor. Punctual in the office and kind. Jokes around when appropriate and listens to you. Receptionist is rude and left Dr. Wang frustrated when not listening to his instructions. Bedside manner day-of procedure is spot on. Professional yet compassionate. Aside from receptionist, I would highly recommend him.  Respond

02/04/14 4 4 5 5 Had an informed and pleasant office visit that resulted in him and I deciding on a stomach scope. At the hospital he was punctual and professional. After the procedure he visited me at my bedside before I left to discuss his findings and was compassionate and informative. All in all a pleasant experience. I would recommend him to anyone.  Respond

05/03/14 2 2 2 3 Did not enjoy my visit to Dr Wang attended with my husband. Receptionist not too friendly and really this is was the start of a bad visit. waited about 40 minutes which was not too bad for a specialist. Found Dr Wang had a very poor personality, I know his experience and expertise in his field is important but you need to feel you are been looked after well. I did not find my husband was been looked after very well. I felt during the consultation that I should intervene and say this, but I am sorry now I did not do so. We will return to our family dr and get another referral to another specialist. Sorry Dr Wang you and your secretary need to do a course in how to treat patients and make them feel welcome to your surgery.  Respond

23/11/13 1 2 1 1 WORST DOCTOR EVER...very possibly cost my husband his life. Did endoscope...didn't bother to biopsy the "areas of irritation"...different specialist, one year later, correctly diagnosed stage 4 gastric cancer. My husband was 57 years old...non smoker, non drinker, phys ed teacher etc etc with no family history of cancer. This doctor misdiagnosed him for almost two years as having severe acid reflux. My spouse took all medication and suggestions to heart. Very poorly run office too...husband showed up for an appointment to find office in darkness and was told by another doctor's secretary that the doctor was in Europe for a month and the office was closed. She said..."I think they tried to call everyone to cancel but I guess she ran out of time" (really????)  Respond

15/12/11 1 1 4 4 Secretary is extremely rude, to say the least. She does return phone calls until a few days later. She's horrible. Dr. Wang is always running late. He seemed knowledgeable and caring.  Respond

28/11/11 2 2 5 5 I find Dr. Wang to be very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I was referred to him by my gyno, and although he did not feel the problem was gastro related, he still went to great lengths to help me. He did a colonoscopy to rule out what my gyno thought the problem was. He did a bunch of bloodwork to rule other things out, which my family doctor never did. So although I'm back to square one, at least he was willing to perform the procedure to rule it out, and is continuing to help me with my problems. Although he isn't on time for his appointments, tell me one specialist that is. They all have crazy wait times and it's really a small inconvenience when you consider the big picture. Even my family doctor is never on time. Dr. Wang performs procedures at the hospital in the mornings so I'm sure this is why he's late. Cut the guy some slack! He's helping other people way before your appointment is even made. Overall, I would recommend him to friends/family!  Respond

16/06/11 1 1 3 3 You will wait hours before you see the doctor, if he is even on time. Do not make an appointment if you cannot even show up. The receptionist is horrible. She is rude, unhelpful. If your are referred to this doctor ask for another referral  Respond

02/03/11 4 2 5 5 Dr. Wang has completed three colonoscopies on me. I have always found him to be a good Dr., and I also find his secretary very pleasant and helpfull. Yes the waiting times are lengthy, but tryo going to other specialists and see if the waiting times are any better there. I have been to a number, and Dr. Wang is right up there with them. I will recommend his services to anyone. Think about how many Specialists like Dr. Wang there are in Durham Region today compared to thirty years ago, and then take a look at the population incerease, and think yourself lucky you are not south of the border.  Respond

26/01/11 2 4 3 4 I have to agree with most other people reviewing this doctor/staff. Both in my meetings and during the procedure time in the hospital, Dr Wang came across as very professional, knowledgable and caring. I wish I could only say the same about his secretary in the office. Whenever I called the office to make appts I always ended up leaving msg's on her machine, which in most cases were not returned or resulted in us playing telephone tag. The time I did talk to her she was extemely rude and pushy. I cringe at the thought of having to contact this office.  Respond

14/01/11 2 4 2 3 Was referred to Dr. Wang. I can sum up the visit to being on an interrogation stand being crossed examined by a defense lawyer. Continually made me doubt myself and symptoms even though I knew my own body. Yes he may be very knowledgeable I can say that, but the experience and tactfulness wasn't that great. The office is very dingy and dirty. Went somewhere else and voila, I have reflux!  Respond

14/09/10 3 4 5 5 I have no concern about Dr. Wang. He is professional and knowledgable. I only saw him twice for colonoscopy test within the last 5 years. Everything was done on time and instructions were clear. I would recommend him to anybody!  Respond

20/05/10 3 3 1 1 This doctor told me my issues were in my head, that I was stressed out and should go on antidepressants. Later when I was diagnosed with an atual, serious disease, I was told this doctor should have caught it. It was a simple blood test, had he listened I would have been diagnosed easily. Poor manners and very rude. Do not go and see this man.  Respond

15/03/10 2 1 4 4 I had to wait over 3 hrs for 1st visit, over 2 on the second, 3rd and 4th appointment was reasonable. Receptionist isn't that helpful and the Dr seems agitated if the line of questioning goes towards you trying to clarify his diagnosis. In the long run I would recommend him, just be very patient.  Respond

17/08/09 4 5 5 5 Great doctor. Straight to the point so you know where you stand. Always truthful. Friendly, but professional. Very knowledgeable and caring. When in the hospital he always visited to see how I was, even on weekends. Has a serious side, but also can laugh and joke with you (not about your health). Keeps on top of your progress and keeps you in line. I am incredibly grateful to him as I believe he truly saved my life. Thanks Dr. Wang for always caring. See you soon.  Respond

16/06/09 4 2 4 4 Have had 3 office appts with this Dr. and have had to wait for minimum of 1 1/2 hrs each time. Last visit (last week) was the first time I found him pleasant and answered my quesitons. Most times I find him abrupt and bordering on rude. Secretary could use a bit more tack on the phone. Calling me telling me I missed an appt that we had not booked yet, as she didn't have the next yrs calendar during last appt., then insists she had told me when appt was, then backs down and says she is calling to setup an appt.  Respond

13/06/09 2 1 5 5 Office called for a follow-up appt. after I saw him in emergency. Appt. was 11:15, didn't call me into the office until after 1pm. He was very helpful, and thought he was quite knowledgeable, but like every doctor, who have to wait forever to see them.  Respond

11/06/09 5 5 5 5 I had my first appt today in and out in 30 min with what I felt an excellent consultation with this specialist. As someone currently also working in the healthcare field I was very impressed with the service I received.  Respond

19/02/09 1 3 3 3 the medical secretary is very rude. she will never return your phone calls. i feel she can be a dishonest person. she told me my test results have not arrived. i called the x ray department which informed me they would fax again. the doctor himself is very precise in his theory. i phoned doctor's office 4 times leaving voice mails to return my call. no one returned my call. so i visited the office in person. she told me she did not like to be caught off guard. i explained no one returned my calls. i was feeling ill. she had no interest in my health concerns & she would call me to make arrangements for a doctor's appointment. this doctor should be made aware of his staff insensitivity & rudeness.  Respond
