Despite some of the comments I've read above, I found Dr Racette to be very friendly, professional, helpful, thorough and caring. She took the time to explain my condition and asked questions to understand my background as well as conducted a full physical to ensure I was healthy. I'm relieved and thankful to have been referred to her.

The rudest and most condescending doctor we have ever met.

Dr. Racette is knowledgeable but doesn't seem to care about her patients. She did my hysterectomy, didn't bother to try any nerve sparing which seriously affected my ability to orgasm. When I attempted to discuss this with her after the surgery she was unwilling to even admit that she had anything to do with it. Furthermore my surgery should have taken 2 hours, I was in surgery for 6 and I ended up in surgical menopause which she also refused to believe she had caused. Refused to even look at my blood test results which empirically demonstrated what she had done. Close minded with a cold emotional demeanour. I'd avoid her if you can.

I had an emergency miscarriage late in my first pregnancy at Royal Columbian Hospital. Dr. Racette was the OB/GYN on call and delivered my baby at 20 weeks, who passed away at birth. I was 18 at the time. She was cold hearted. Within 10 minutes of my loss she wanted to talk about what birth control I was going to use in the future because an 18 year old shouldn't be getting pregnant. She also told me that the baby was a boy and I later found out, three years later, that it was a girl. I was never allowed to see the baby at all. It took three years of my harrassing her office to get the autopsy results. So for three years I had guilt and no closure not knowing why this had happened. I would never see this doctor again. I would rather deliver my own baby that ever have to see this woman again. When I think back to my experience I always remember her and how awful she was.

saw this dr for infertility treatment. we were out-of-town patients, and found she made limited efforts to facilitate communication during this very emotional and difficult process. after suffering through 2 rounds of unsuccessful treatment, she charged us $50 for a phone call to discuss our treatment! we eventually changed doctors and finally left the clinic after deciding we didn't want to fall into an assembly line of infertile couples.

while i'm sure Dr. Racette is a knowledgeable clinician, her "bedside manner" is awful. she's curt, arrogant, and simply rude. she would be better off doing research where she doesn't have to deal with patients.

I think this doctor should deal with dead people - she really doesn't care. You are a # and a stat and fit into the papers she holds in front of her the whole time

I found this doctor knowledable but cold and unfriendly. She was too matter of fact, and had no real opinions on my infertility. She instead gave me lots of "could's", not "should's", and made me feel like my struggle hasn't been that bad. For a fertility doctor, you'd think she'd have more compassion.

I find this doctor kind and knowledgeable. She listens to what you're saying and looks for ways to help solve your problem. She seeks 2nd opinions and encourages you to do the same.
