Dr. Kandel was very abraisive. I was new to Colorado but needed to make an appointment for a female exam. This was the first time I'd met her. She was overbearing and treated me as if I were 12 years old. She went on and on about what I should and should not be eating. I am not overweight and keep a healthy lifestyle, so I'm not sure why she was lecturing me. She phrased her questions as if they were statements, so I had no idea when she was actually asking a question. She got even more rude when I didn't answer her (because I didn't know if she was asking me something or telling me something). If I hadn't needed a prescription renewal I would have walked out. I never went back to her and told my husband that we were switching doctors (and doctor's offices) immediately.

My appt was at 1:20, I arrived at 1:10 & saw Dr. Kandel at 2:40. That's right, an hour and 20 minutes later. I even dressed, hunted down a nurse and asked if they forgot about me. Dr. Kandel said it was the standard waiting time. I was scheduled for a physical, lab results, & Rx renewals. I felt my appointment turned into what I call "therapy" but she called "taking a history." It made me extremely uncomfortable & I was crying. I stopped the appointment and refused the physical, left, called my insurance and asked for a new doctor. She was very coarse and aggressive, and I felt her behavior was completely inappropriate. I have no idea if she’s knowledgeable- she could be the most knowledgeable doctor ever, but her bedside manner made her completely ineffective.
