04/08/11 4 5 5 5 Dr. Bruni has been treating my wife for seizure's since mid 2008 after a brain hemorrhage. We find he is an excellent Neurologist, very thorough and easy to talk to as he explains things clearly and always answers our questions. We have never once left his office feeling dissatisfied after an appointment. He is very punctual with appointments as we have never had to sit in the waiting room any more than maybe a couple of minutes past our appointment time. His secretary doesn't always answer the phone as she is quite busy but Dr. Bruni has always returned our calls in a timely fashion. We would fully recommend Dr Bruni to anyone seeking Neurologist.  Respond

27/05/11 5 5 5 5 I have seen a number of neurologists regarding some sudden seizures I had had, which no one can seem to figure out the cause. When I met with Dr. Bruni, he immediately took over, was extrememly pleasant and thoughtful, genuinely asked a lot of questions, gave me many more answers and explanations than I had had with other neurologists and really went the extra mile! Though my condition doesn't pose an immediate threat nor am I a priority to other patients he might have, he still made me feel that my health was important where others did not. I'm SO thankful!!!!  Respond

31/01/11 1 5 5 5 My first visit to Dr. Bruni was a God send. He is a gentleman man and a gentle person. Well informed of my history which I found impressive. LIstened to me as I to him. I look forward to Dr. Bruni finding answers for me. On another note his secretary I found to be rude, dismissive, entitled and not helpful or caring in the least. She messed up my receiving an appt time, said my GP didn't send a referral which was not the case. At the end of the day my GP called after months of nonsense from the secretary and secured an appt time for me the next week.  Respond

27/01/11 5 5 5 5 I have been with Dr. Bruni for 32 years, and I have never met anyone more knowledgeable or more helpful. And I am a difficult case. He has never been anything but helpful and kind. Through the good times and bad. He seems to have always had what is best for me in mind first not what will advance study. (where many other doctors have seemed to put this first). You would be very lucky to be a patient with this man.  Respond

11/06/10 4 5 3 5 This Neurologist was on the medical team early in his physician's career of the surgical team that discovered study of each individual brain cell to determine which cells cause epileptic seizures and discovered a removal of brain cells to stop epileptic seizures known as a Hemispherectomy (and entire half of the brain) or depending on the location of the epileptic center of the brain, a lobectomy. Canada is strict about how much money each patient costs. You know that....Right?  Respond

18/05/10 1 5 1 3 He sure didn't impress me.Was referred to him in March (2010). As it turned out he was away, I think, for 3 weeks. I called his office and asked them to set an appointment for me upon his return. I'm still waiting and today is May 17th. I should also add that I had seen him before and found him to be a "pretty cold fish". He never seemed to "engage" me; his exam struck me as perfunctory at best. Perhaps he was having an "off" day. Still....  Respond

29/08/09 2 2 1 3 I can't fault his knowledge, as I never saw him apply it to me. Saw him for annual check ups, which seemed like 5-minute gloss-overs for billing purposes. Put me on a drug that had immediate side effects. When I saw him next, I informed him the drug was hazardous to me. Having read the CPS guide, it was clear I was having adverse reactions to the drug, and stopped taking it. He asked me "Who told you to go off that drug." I answered, "I did." The appointment ended abruptly, and I never heard from Bruni again. My annual check ups were suddenly unimportant, and repeated calls to his office to try and book an appointment went unanswered. What an arrogant, self-important chap.  Respond

22/08/09 2 4 1 1 Dr. Bruni as he treated our daughter for 9 years and completely misdiagnosed her. He was rude to me when I asked him a simple question. He then referred us to a Brampton Neurologist who found a N.Y. Neurologist and within 45 mins. diagnosed our daughter properly, got her on the right medication and she has now been seizure free for a long time. We will be forever thankful to the Brampton Neurologist.  Respond

19/01/09 5 5 5 5 For the 1st time in 20 years seeking help for my seizure mngmnt. I feel I have found it with Dr.Bruni. This Dr.,Should you care to do your own research, is one of the foremost Neurological authorities in THE WORLD. His awards and accolades may attest to this but I could, quite frankly, give a**** about them. This man has a gift. If you are lucky enough to get a consult with Dr.Joseph Bruni you are lucky indeed. What is it about epilepsy patients that make them so friggin' whiny? You have your seizures and I'll have mine. Oh...wait a minute I don't have them much anymore. Thanks to you know who  Respond

16/07/08 3 3 2 4 When I first started seeing Dr. Bruni for my seizures, he seemed very helpful and knowledgeable. Afterward, I noticed that his monitoring of my problem became indifference. When I told him that after being seizure free for 2 years I was having seizures again he shrugged it away and told me not to worry. One time I was 5 minutes late trying to find parking at his downtown office, and he yelled at me - he told me that I needed to be on time because he had to run over to the hospital for another appointment. I don't know how that could be true since he was supposed to be seeing me at that time. I caught him just as he was leaving. Overall, he seems very knowledgeable, but only cares when the mood suits him.  Respond

12/12/07 5 5 1 1 The first time I saw Dr. Bruni, I thought he was wonderful. He was very reassuring and promised to get to the bottom of my problems. He thought I had MS. The next time I saw him he had no idea who I was, didn't have my file, and was very rude. I had to go through everything from the beginning again, and after a quick exam told me he didn't have a clue what was wrong with me and to get a second opinion. I was still waiting for a first opinion. I was very dissatified and very discouraged. He was no help whatsoever. He was like Jekyll and Hyde. It was hard to believe he was the same doctor that I had seen 6 months before!  Respond

11/04/07 5 5 5 I've been a patient for 9 years for my seizure disorder and have been treated very effectively. Dr. Bruni is a seizure specialist and is one of the best neurologists out there in my opinion. He was recommended to me by other neurologists. He is very punctual. Can take a month to get an appointment, often times less. His level of knowledge is unparalleled in my opinion. He treats you like a real person and cares about your concerns in a very efficient, friendly and professional manner. Returns phone calls when necessary and is accomodating. Has degrees in Neurology and Internal Medicine and has hospital privileges at 5 major hospitals in Ontario (At time of writing this review). Has a primary practice office in the Toronto downtown core. I cannot speak more highly of any other doctor, he really is that good. If you have tried many neurologists (As I have) and want a solid second opinion, try to get a referral to this doctor.  Respond
