07/08/13 1 2 5 5 Dr Aung is very kind and knowledgeable. He is very good at what he does. However his staff can be very rude and short. Some of the staff are treating patients with no respect and need to work on their people skills! It is such a shame that such a kind doctor has such rude staff. It ruins some of the entire experience.  Respond

23/06/12 5 4 5 5 I feel so blessed that I am able to see Dr. Aung. I had suffered for 16 years with terrible seasonal allergies and took monthly shots for 6 years with no relief. After only 6 treatments with Dr. Aung, my allergies are 100% gone. I can finally enjoy the outdoors again. I am also being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis and through acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, I have improved greatly. Dr. Aung is a kind, caring, compassionate, brilliant Doctor. I may have waited a little bit to see him from time to time, but it is so worth it. We are so lucky to have him in Edmonton and I dread the day that he retires. His staff do their best to keep the clinic organized for this very busy doctor. Bless you Dr. Aung.  Respond

21/04/12 1 2 5 5 Dr. Aung is an amazing person: very gentle, patient and soft. It is very unfortunate the staff at the reception aren't as helpful except for Debbie and Julia. Gina is very unpleasant, and has messed up my appointments when I needed them the most. The latest was this year when I had called her on a Monday to ask her to confirm I had an appointment for Thursday of the same week she told me I didn't. But then on that day I got a call from Debbie to let me know I was not at my appointment. When I spoke to Gina, she denied it. The only reason I remembered exactly when and the time I called is that I took note based on previous experience with her when she messed up another appointment. Julia made some mistakes in the past but she is at least pleasant and smiles unlike Gina. Having a bad staff member makes all the difference. But I am so glad to have met Dr. Aung, he is so inspiring and is interested in helping his patients. His daughter Florence works with him too and is also good.  Respond

01/11/11 4 1 5 5 If you are willing to wait, Dr. Aung is the best you can get. He tends to run behind because he takes as long as necessary with each patient. Wonderful man.  Respond

21/02/11 5 3 5 5 Being around Dr. Aung alone is healing. He is a true compassionate healer. I have Lupus and since seeing him bi-weekly for the last 8 months, have an active healthy life. I have been able to completely eliminate pain killers. He has introduced me to Qi Gong and I feel now a strong sense of hope and life within me. I have seen at least 20 specialist re: Lupus they left me feeling defeated. I am so grateful to Dr. Aung.  Respond

27/01/11 5 4 5 5 In February of 1973, my back was broken in an auto accident. The pain was unbearable. It made me angry all the time, dangerous for an ex-cop with martial arts training. Literally out of options, with my wife in tears every day, I went to see Dr. Aung in 1980. I 'knew' that acupuncture was a hoax. Right. Dr Aung, quietly and with immense compassion, talked to me, offered to help, and inserted the needles. For the first time since the accident, I was pain free. He talked with my wife and I afterwards. I found that was crying. My wife and I were able to talk for the first time in years. When I thanked him, tears in my eyes, he said that he was 'just a simple man, a little man'. I would walk into fire for that little man. He saved my marriage, and my life. Moan about wait times? Complain about costs? This is a man who people holistically, accurately, and compassionately. What have those who complain done for their fellows?  Respond

02/12/10 5 3 5 5 If you are going just to walk away with a diagnosis or a Rx, you are in the wrong place. He sees you as a whole person & one that is ever with that said what he treated last time may not be what he treats this time. I have been seeing him since Aug'10 after back surgery & have experienced relief from the sessions. One of the side effects from my surgery is migraines & weakness & with his treatments I am migraine free for almost 2 weeks at a time compared to daily prior to seeing him. As well my energy levels increase after my visits, which helps when you have 2 kids under 7. Sometimes he treats me for my back other times for other issues. I don't think the wait times are any different than other doctor offices, sometimes you get in early other times later...most I have waited was 50 minutes but I am prepared & bring a book to read. The way I look at it is "good things come to those who wait" & I am willing to wait!  Respond

15/11/10 5 4 5 5 Dr. Aung is a incredible clinician, who practices with care and compassion. He is very knowledgable, and he is able to help with conditions that cannot be helped by western medicine. That said, he is also a medical doctor, and so he is able to conceptualize your health in both eastern and western medical views. He is a phenomenal doctor, and I know many people he has helped a great deal (including myself). Often you do have to wait for him; however, the staff is very kind, and I have not found the wait times to be unreasonable. Especially given how effective and compassionate he is in every appointment. I would recommend that anyone who is struggling with the health consider seeing him. I have seen several acupuncturists in Edmonton, and he is by far the best. You know you are in good hands when you are Dr. Aung's patient.  Respond

03/09/09 5 4 5 5 Dr. Aung is a wonderful, caring individual with a great amount of knowledge about the human body. His mix of Chinese and western medicine is close to ideal and he has been most helpful to me. He seems to know alot about you and your condition in a very short period simply be doing an examination of your hands, ears, eyes, toungue, etc. I would recommend Dr Aung without reservation.  Respond

18/07/09 5 2 5 5 Dr. Aung is not punctual, but he is possible to determine after a few visits the amount of time you need to allow (he is consistent in lateness). He is a very caring and knowledgeable individual. I went to Dr. Aung somewhat skeptical about accupuncture. I have been reassured by his knowledge and the benefits of treatment. I would recommend him without qualification.

18/06/09 5 3 5 5 I've been seeing Dr. Aung since April with my daughter and my son. I am so impressed with his kindness and his compassion. There is so much that conventional doctors can learn from this wonderful man. His assistant Florence is also good. My only regret was not to have had a chance to see him 9 years ago, when I asked my doctor and was dismissed. I hope my son will find the help he needs, he's been struggling with a lack of focus and was diagnosed with ADD, but none of the Medications he has tried worked and doctors have only focussed on medicatiosn so far without any success. The receptionist, Julia, is helpful and kind.  Respond

10/06/09 5 3 5 5 Cost first visit was $65 but it was for herbal medication. This doctor is definately gifted. He knew so much about me without knowing me or asking questions about me. He could tell just by looking at my hands and in my eyes what was wrong. Brought tears to my eyes with some things he said. He is very knowledgeable and I feel safe and secure under his treatment care. I would highly recommend him to people who have tried everything and have given up. Dr Aung will bring you back to life. Definately worth the hour wait!!  Respond

26/05/09 5 2 5 5 Dr. Aung is the kindest, most amazing man I have ever met. Anyone priviledged enough to be treated by him will feel the same. The complaints about time delay is due to the fact that he takes his time with patients when needed, which puts him behind. He is not only a doctor, but acts as a councillor to his patients as well. I recommend him wholeheartedly.  Respond

06/02/09 5 4 5 5 I feel very blessed to be under the care of Dr. Aung. He is caring, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. I have been seeing him for 8 months for help with a life threatening illness, and the treatments have made a remarkable difference. At a time when I feel let down by the healthcare industry as a whole, I find that I trust him completely! The clinic is usually a bit behind, but only because he wants to help everyone in need, and has never, to my knowledge, turned a patient away. The clinic staff are helpful and very apologetic any time I have had to wait, and have also fit me in on a few occasions when I have been late myself. Dr. Aung most definitely has a gift, and as for the person who complained above that he overbooks/charges too much, all I can say is that I find his charge very reasonable, and would pay more anyday to be under his care!  Respond

21/10/08 5 4 5 5 I had a baffling condition that attacked the cartilage of my ears ... first one, then the other. It left one ear healed but deformed, then attacked the other ear. Six specialists later, with no positive test results, all that Western medicine could guess was that maybe I had an immune disorder and that maybe chemotherapy might help. I decided, instead, to go to Dr. Aung. His gentleness and compassion brought tears to my eyes. Five days after the first accupuncture treatment, I found I could drive with my car window open because the wind on my ear was no longer painful. Two and a half months into the treatment, my ear is now almost totally healed and it has not deformed. Dr. Aung succeeded spectacularly where Western medicine failed abysmally. THANK YOU DR. A!!  Respond

30/08/08 1 1 2 2 Be aware. Acupuncture slots are limited to 15-20 minutes, in order to book the most amount of patients and earn $60 per session. Expect to wait at least an hour before after arriving for your appointment. Main receptionist is rude as heck. I wouldn't recommend Aung at all - he treats his clinic as a business, rather than helping others.

15/01/08 5 5 5 5 This doctor is brilliant. He has a tremendous knowledge base and shows great compassion towards all of his patients. I know for a fact that I would not be alive today if it wasn't for him and the level of commitment he displayed to my chronic condition. When no other doctors were able to diagnose or help, Dr. Aung was. I am and will always be eternally grateful. He is most deserving of the 'Order of Canada' and the 'Alberta Order of Excellence'. We are very fortunate to have him practicing in our country. Thank you, Dr. Aung.  Respond

12/12/07 5 5 5 5 I was given the opportunity to meet this amazing man about a month ago, as a case study in one of his classes. I had been without my voice for more than 3 months when I went to see him. This man, who knew nothing more about me than my first name, was able to tell me exactly what was wrong with me, things I had been trying to tell doctors for years. with 2 minutes of the first needle breaking my skin, I had my voice back. Dr. Aung has an amazing gift, and really is an angel in humanly guise. So far, I have been meeting with one of his students, and will go to see him again when time allows. Meeting him has completely changed my life, and I am so glad for it. The gratefulness I feel cannot be put into words.  Respond

23/09/07 5 3 5 5 Dr. Aung correctly diagnosed my condition and got me off two prescrition drugs for alledged heart problems. The cardiologist admitted that his diagnosis of the core problem was not correct. Patients who need treatment badly but can not pay, are treated pro bono or at reduced fees. His fee has not changed for a least 10 years. No cult like following, just happy patients, mostly ex-patients. Teaches accupuncture at U of A in Alberta. Has received order of canada, alberta order of excellence, best physician award of Alberta etc. etc. Teaching priviledges at the major Universities in China, England, France, Japan, USA etc. etc. Tries to save patients un- necessary expenses. Honest and straightforward about what he can achieve for you and what not. You will be hard pressed to find a kinder person.  Respond

14/03/07 2 5 5 What a wonderful, kind man. I have been seeing Dr. Aung for a couple of years now. When 'modern' tests and doctors said there was nothing more they could do, Dr. Aung disagreed. He has gotten me back out of my wheelchair and feeling better than I have in many years. He is extremely busy and hates to turn anyone away, so I know when I go to see him that I could be there for 3/4 of an hour or two hours. I accept that and I plan around it. He is well worth the wait.  Respond
