21/03/14 1 1 1 3 the wait was 4.5 hours and I had an appointment!! She spends too much time talking about non-related issues just chit chat while her waiting room is bursting with people who cant find a seat! She forgot to give me back my card since she collect all cards at the same time from all patients... She wrote me an Rx but it turned out it was something I already tried and did not work! she did not tell me what she prescribed. I only realized it when she gave me the Rx. She asked me to stop eating sugar, soda, diet soda and aspartame and chocolate... she arrives to her first appointment 3 hours late!! she needs to respect people's time more. I had to catch 2 buses to get home at midnight!

17/01/14 5 5 5 5 We took our 3-month old daughter to Dr.Irwin for the severe rash on her face. Dr.Irwin was the only hope we had after seeing 3 different doctors including her pediatrician. The rash lasted for 3 weeks, and it kept getting worse and worse. We were so desperate to find out what it really was and how to treat it. Dr. Irwin took her time to find the cause of her problem. The difference between the other 3 doctors and Dr.Irwin was that she actually cared about our daughter. 3 days after the treatment, I could finally see my daughter being happy again. Waking up peacefully in the morning and seeing her sleep with smile made me cry. My husband had to call Dr.Irwin simply to say "Thank you." Dr.Irwin definitely has a lot of experience and passion for what she does. Thank you so much, Dr.Irwin!

17/10/13 4 4 5 5 Dr. Irwin is the best most caring doctor I have ever seen. Because she cares her patients so much, she gives about 20-25 minutes to each patient, which makes the appointments not able to be fulfilled as scheduled. That was why many people waited for hours before seeing her. I brought my daughter to her office because of some weird rash. We arrived at around 6:10pm and there were around 15 people waiting. At 7:30pm, she told the patients that she was gonna see the two children before seeing them. We felt sorry for the other patients who have been waiting for such a long time because we did not have an appointment and was treated earlier than the ones who have. But what a thoughtful and caring doctor she is! She is very experienced and tried her best to find out the possible reasons for the rash and gave my daughter a lot of helpful advice. She is definitely not like some other doctors who just give you 5 minutes and then let you go. They care more about money than the patients.

10/10/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Irwin is a generous wonderful human being that has devoted herself to the wellbeing of other human beings. One cannot but feel her compassion and true caring nature for others. Although it was a long wait, I would have waited twice as long to have such a wonderful person help me as she did. Thank you a thousand times Dr. Irwin... you are truly amazing

19/02/13 2 2 5 5 I saw dr Irwin for a sever acne that I had on my face. She was the fourth dermatologist I’ve seen and the only one who tried to find the cause of my acne and not just to prescribe antibiotics! The cause was a medicament that I took for a long period of time (pantoloc). One month after I stopped the medication, my acne disappeared and never came back. And imagine that all the other 3 dermatologists prescribed me accutane that I refused to take. SHE IS THE BEST!  See Responses

21/11/12 5 5 5 5 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! What a wonderful human being..I come from the Czech republic and I'm on holiday. I was desperate to see a dermatologist and was SHOCKED to be seen on the same day that I called. I read the reviews so I knew I would have to wait-5 hours! I DON'T CARE. This 80 something woman saw me at 11 p.m. and did not charge me a penny (no medicard), expressed concerns about how I will get home that late at night. Amazing doctor - got what I needed. I have so much admiration and respect and I am so grateful to be seen by this lady. Where else would you be seen so soon? NOWHERE!! I wish some people here would stop disrespecting the incredible dedication and care this woman has for all her patients. She often works so late at night and that is after hour normal hours. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Thank you so much!!!!!  Respond

30/10/11 1 1 1 1 I have a condition which was diagnosed as being quite serious by another dermatologist, and so I decided to have a second opinion. Of course, unless you have 6 months to spare it's not easy to get an appointment with a dermatologist, so I was thrilled when I was able to schedule an appointment with this doctor for the following week. I went to her office at the scheduled time, which was locked, and there was a crowd of people waiting outside the door. One person told me that she was 'wonderful, but a little different', and another added that 'she marches to the beat of her own drum, she comes as she pleases, and sometimes doesn't even show up at all'. After waiting 2 1/2 hours outside a locked door, I decided that I'd rather die from a medical condition than succumb to some eclectic nut's whimsical idea of a schedule. The other people in line were even more desperate than me as they continued to wait; desperate, but not undeserving of respect.  See Responses

19/07/11 1 1 4 4 She's very good but a little wonky. She has no staff, and does not know nor care about punctuality. Seriously, you may wait for 2+ hours. But like I said, she's very good, and in it to help people.  Respond

16/02/11 3 1 5 5 First, when she found out that I wasn't on medicare yet she did the visit for FREE! Also she took time to explain what is the meaning of the things that she say, with lots of patience, even if I was asking the same things over and over again. There is a waiting time, that is huge, but I prefer wait instead of pay 60$ for each additional 10 minutes of the visit like private fancy clinics does. There are antique furniture, so what? I found that quite charming and I spent some of the waiting time looking at the various things. I am very picky on doctors and I have to say that she is on of the best doctors I have seen in Canada so far!  Respond

04/11/10 1 3 5 5 I am absolutely appalled by some of the negative comments I have read here. People expect an office that looks like a dental spa with a massage chair, plasma screen TVs,aromatherapy etc. or one of those ultra fancy dermatological Botox centers which take cash and no medicare. You want fancy waiting rooms? Go to a private medical clinic in the USA FFS! Wake up,Quebec! You are SO LUCKY that Dr Irwin has walk-in clinics on Monday,Wednesday and Friday - AFTER her regular workday. It is worth it to wait a few hours to see her for the walk-in as oppose to waiting MONTHS for other dermatologists. Unlike other doctors in Quebec, she doesn't rush through the appointments. That is worthy of high appraisal given the appalling condition of the medicare situation in this country (especially Quebec).Who gives a damn if her office looks like an art museum or antique shop - I personally like it - I find it entertaining. What counts is that Dr Irwin knows her field and treats you with respect.  Respond

28/09/10 1 1 3 3 First shock: messy office with no staff. Second shock: Patient arriving at 21h30 without a appointment and told to wait their turn. Runs about 3 to 4 hours behind schedule for patient with appt. Takes the time to listen and analyse your problem. Was not able to resolve my skin bites/rash. Told to use a cream-cortisone and wait for problem to disappear.  Respond

13/08/10 4 4 5 5 Listen here are the facts about Dr. Irwin. Sweetheart is her middle name. She cured my baby rash 25 years ago (yes it was on my bottom). Now I have a picturesque anus. On the other hand sure you have to wait a while but hey her office is down right cozy. Like a summers stay in the northern chalet's of the Adirondacks. I may not know things but I know this, Dr. Irwin is one cool cat. She keeps it natural yet serious at the same time. She gave me eggs from her farm once... AHHH what an angel. If it were up to me I would make her my official grandmother.  Respond

30/03/10 1 1 1 1 Very old woman, weird place -looks like the office from the 80's. The waiting area is very small, most of the patients are waiting outside and trying to find a chair. The walk in starts after 7 pm, but at 7:30 I saw 8 patients waiting with appointment. No secretary or stuff seen, so all the cards can easily be mixed up. The waiting can come up 3 hours and more. I would never come back again.  Respond

02/02/10 3 4 5 5 I went to a G.P with a rash and was given a refferal to see an other dermatologist. I was told to take pictures of the rash so that the Doctor could see what I had when I got to see them 3-4 months later. The reffering Doctor also suggested Dr. Irwin as an faster alternative. I walked from one office to another in the same building and got in to see her within 1 hour on the same day. She diagnosed the problem and recommended a treatment that worked. What other specialist can you get in to see the same day?  Respond

13/01/10 5 5 5 5 I was very impressed with Dr. Irwin. She is wacky to be sure, but knows her stuff. I called, very concerned about a scary-looking spot on my leg, and she told me to come right away that day. When I arrived, she tried to pass me first in line out of deference for the fact that I had my 3 month old baby with me. She would have too, had I not insisted on waiting my turn- is that ever backwards from the usual medical visit experience!! Her office and procedures are unconventional to be sure, but in the end I had to conclude that it's a great way for a Dr to conduct her practice: If I'm here, show up, I'll treat you. Leave me your card when you arrive, and if someone else was here first, just be honest and wait your turn. It's the height of simplicity, and it works.  Respond

28/11/09 2 2 5 5 I had infected finger nails for years and Dr.Irwin treated the problem with a very non invasive measure that cured my problem. I can care less if I had to wait a bit longer as long as I get quality medical help which I did.  Respond

16/11/09 1 1 1 1 I had to walk out of the office to check the address just to be sure I was in the right place. Her office is like a dusty old antique shop. Patients were packed into the waiting "closet" like sardines and there was no one there to take my medical card or check in with. A patient told me to leave my card on an old desk in the waiting room. I waited for 45 minutes (nothing compared to the other stories here) after my appointment time and then went back to get my card and get back to the twenty first century. What was the doctor like? I have no idea because I cannot wait for hours in a crappy office to see a doctor when I have a family and a life to attend to. I think this doctor's behaviour and office are a disgrace and very disrespectful to patients. I know some people say she is nice and takes time to listen etc. Fine, then book two or three patients a day. When I have an appointment I expect to be seen within a reasonable amount of time. I could have been there all night, who knows.  Respond

01/10/09 2 1 2 2 Place is a mess, and waiting room full of people complaining about how they had appointments 3-4 hours earlier and still didn't know when they would be seen. My "rash" was a bit of a mystery to her, the advice was to wait and see. I wouldn't have waited 4 1/2 hours in the hallway without thinking I would get some kind of diagnosis. Nice person, she takes her time with each client, but doesn't seem to realize that the people sitting outside waiting are annoyed by the excessive chatting. I actually felt guilty during the visit, wishing she would stop telling me about all her other patients and her personal experiences. Would I go back? If I had an emergency, but I'd be going back with low expectations.  Respond

03/07/09 5 1 5 5 Dr. Irwin was able to see me within a few days, as opposed to my regular dermo, the earliest appt. in SEPTEMBER! I had a strange-looking freckle that popped out overnite, changed to almost a blister when exposed to the sun, needless to say I was quite concerned. She reassured me it was probably a reaction to a plant, or perfume or another chemical irritant. She told me to come back in a week if it did not go away. It continued to morph into a blister again the next day, even when I applied the sunscreen, I was feeling skeptical again, by the end of the week, the skin had peeled and it looked normal. To be on the safe side, I called Dr. Irwin-how many Doctors can you actually speak to on the phone? This lady is FANTASTIC:) she said, no worries, it's ok, the peeling, etc, usually a few weeks after a reaction. She relayed my worries, a great lady indeed. I will definitely continue to see her :)  Respond

09/05/09 5 1 4 3 Dr.Irwin is a wonderful person. However I had bad acne and she told me to use ivory soap-it didn't work. I went to another derm and he cured it. Another time i had a rash on my leg she told me to use an over the counter medication used for diaper rash-needless to say that didnt work either. She is quite disorganized-her office is a mess. She is all about natural therapy and has a wonderful spirit but if you have a serious problem and its not taken care of by her treatment don't give up hope.  Respond

I have been seeing her for over 20 years and if it wasn't for her I don't know what I would have done a few years back, she was the only one who knew what I had and saved me from being misdiagonosed. She is very devoted and a wonderful human being, cares about her patients and mankind. We are blessed to have her and will be very sad if shes retires. 21/11/08 5 3 5 5 Kind, compassionate, knowledgeable...Not only is Dr.Irwin a leader in her field - she's an extraordinary human being who has done more for our environment than the average person is aware. Shame on the ignorant comments that focus on something as ridiculous as the state of her office. Regarding waiting time? Let us not forget that our country's socialized medecine program doesn't lend itself to quick service and short wait times - consider yourself lucky for the mere opportunity to consult with this wonderful professional.  Respond

29/09/08 3 1 5 5 Yes; you wait for hours, Yes; she looks like a mad scientist, Yes; her office is a mess, but it beats waiting 8 months for a conventional dermatologist. She treats you on the spot if she can, and for free if possible, she does not charge you anything, says it like it is and knows what she's doing, she will take the time she needs to diagnose and/or treat (which explains the amount of waiting time). She will see you without referal or appointment. In cases of emergency she will refer you to someone else. I think she's one of a kind in every sense of the word !  Respond

19/07/08 4 3 5 5 The 3 idiots who posted bad comments don’t know anything about medicine. I have been seeing this doctor for over 10 years and she is great. She is one of the few doctors that is not corrupted and will not prescribe any pharmaceutical cream for the sake of getting free lunches or trips from the companies. For once you will find a doctor that you can see the same day (did those 3 idiots know that the wait for a dermatologist in Montreal is up to 6 months !!!). Oh and by the way, I am in the pharmaceutical industry and I see her because I know for a fact she is not corrupted. I encourage them to go wait 6 months and stop complaining. 07/02/08 1 1 2 3 Her place is a total pig sty. No secretary will work for her. She's always late, and she's more concerned about her causes and scaring the crap out of you than the issue at hand.

22/03/07 5 5 5 Punctuality? She stays in her office until the last patient is taken care of. They are usually last minutes patients because she is never too tired or too busy. She usually goes home very late at night. It is so comforting knowing that the help is there when you need it. Always. Dedicated, genuine doctor, born to give. She's got my full respect and admiration.  Respond

13/03/07 3 5 5 Absolutely the best doctor, bar none, Although punctiality is not her strong force she spends as much time with her patients getting to the source of the problem. No question or problem is too insigificant for her. She is a true example of what a doctor should be. Caring and extremely great bedside manners who went into medicine for the love of the practice and not for mere profits  See Responses
