24/06/10 1 1 2 2 Disappointment is an understatement in this doctor's case. Everything is fine as long as you don't have real medical issues. If you go once a year for the checkup and you have no problems, all is well. God forbid you get something serious! My husband had a real emergency and it could have ended badly, if I wouldn't have gone around Dr. M's approach and solved the problem directly with a surgeon. It was then when I lost my trust in him, but we kept going for the annual checkups, being too complacent and lazy to start looking for a new doctor. Recently I found out he shortened his office hours AGAIN, Mondays being only for walking clinic from 2 pm to 7 pm. It looks like he is on semi-retirement and the only reason he comes to the office is to get the OHIP money for his retirement. I am fed up and have started the grueling process of finding a new doctor. I know it will be hard, but I am not having another annual checkup with Dr. M. I am tired of him and his "professionalism".  Respond

17/12/09 4 5 5 5 Dr. Manicatide is an excellent Doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable and caring. He will not refer you to perform tests when it are not necessary. However, he is thorough and when he refers you to other doctors they also very knowledgeable. He often stays late and comes in early to accomodate patients. I would recommend him to any patient. His wife is very professional as well.  Respond

26/11/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. Manicatide has been my doctor for about 4 years now. He is extremely helpful, encouraging, very knowledgeable and up to date in his field. He has the best bedside manners I've seen in a doctor. A very courteous man who will stay many times after the office closing hours making sure all his patients were looked after. Many thanks doc!  Respond

16/11/09 3 3 3 2 He is excellent - friendly and all - if you don't have any serious problems. God forbid you have something serious, he has no flair to figure it out.  Respond

17/08/09 1 1 1 3 Rare idiot. Avoid to use him as a doctor, he is a businessman. Appointment able after months.  Respond
RID: 957647
08/08/09 1 1 1 1 Long waits, rude secretary, and the doctor is not helpful at all. He tries to chit-chat rather than trying to diagnose the problem. I don't recomend him at all; you will regret later. Some people like him because he chats a lot (not on topic), but everybody else has to wait an hour or more because of it. He came up with idiotic diagnoses for me such us: 'your lung has shrunk' because I had shortness of breath, and 'beef deficiency' (what?!)... I would be very wary of those who rate him highly (do NOT trust those ratings)...  Respond

23/06/09 2 1 2 1 I believe he's more interested in charging OHIP than really helping you as a patient. His failure (not knowledgeable? distracted? too old ?) to recommend proper tests could have dire consequences.... Had to move to another family doctor .  Respond

04/06/09 5 5 5 5 Dr Manicatide has been our family doctor since we moved from Europe. He is a very professional and caring doctor. He follows up with his patients and is also very good with small children! We've always found him to be very considerate and pleasant.  Respond

14/01/09 1 3 3 3 I think he's an ok doctor, if I have a medical concern, he'll send me to a specialist or assist me if he can. However, I don't like going to his office because of that secretary (red head, slim). She is very rude, it's as if she's doing you a favour by assisting you at the office. I dread every time I have to talk to her.  Respond

01/08/08 5 5 5 5 Dr. Manicatide has been my doctor for about 4 years now. He is very informed and knowlegable in his profession. He is extremely helpful, encouraging and confidential. It has never been a problem for me to make appointments and yes once in a while the wait may be longer, however he is a very courteous man who will stay long hours to make sure all his patients were looked after. Many times the office closes at 5 or 6pm and he is still taking patients after 7pm. In plus,he helps people by conseiling them in their own problems to diminuate their stress if he knows about the problem you have. All the best to the Dr. and his nice wife,CECILIA!  Respond

24/05/08 3 3 5 5 2 assistants, one the wife (amazing!), other hired and awfull. Indeed in the last year (2008) there was some improvement in her tone, as others noticed. Hope she works to get better than that. Dr. M is great, smiling, a great listener and one of the few docs who conduct a full clinical exam, you only need to challenge him a little. The romanian medical shool shows its great results. For anything complex we (family of 5) always go to him. Important also, he has great other dr. connections, so his refferal for a specialist (when needed) are to other well known and good doctors (see dr. Papadouris for children). He doesn't follow the canadian medical staff policy of "don't commit a diagnostic cause you never know for sure" and that is helpfull often - you get to know what you have or what he is investigating you for, right away, most of the times. Waiting times are long indeed, but I have to admit once you are in, he never hints at rushing you in any way. Great doctor, wish him long life!  Respond

30/04/08 5 4 5 5 I am a patient to this doctor and I will rate him as very good. I guess we all complain about the time we have to wait. I think not all the cases will require the same amount of time, therefore is very hard to predict the timing for appointments. The bottom line is how correct your diagnostic was at the end of the visit. And here he can be rated excellent.  Respond

04/03/08 5 5 5 5 Good Doctor. His secretary made great improvements in the last 4-5 years, in the sense that she is more helpful, she also changed her tone (she used to be too bossy and not helpful), now she is the opposite. I'm happy w/ them.  Respond

14/02/08 2 2 2 3 he is ok although when i need it him to do me a favour in seeing a close friend of mine that had an emergency he turned me down...so i guess there is no true bonding with your family dr.he is just another stranger that has your file .  Respond
