06/07/12 5 5 5 5 Dr.Cundal is an excellent, skilled surgeon! I had a spinal fusion L4/L5 in April 2011 and Dr.Cundal explained everything prior to surgery.Excellent bedside manner always dropping in to see how I was doing. He did not make you feel ill at ease by asking any type of question. My range of motion is just about back to where it was prior to having this back problem nearly 10 years.I'm truely thankful for this amazing surgeon as I am able to travel and play with my young grandchildren.Thank you for everything Dr.Cundal and your staff is great as well.I would highly recommend this surgeon .I am an extremely happy person from Sundre!  Respond

01/02/12 5 5 5 5 I love Dr. Cundal for all he has done for me. I find him so happy, bright, helpful and very intelligent and a highly skilled surgeon. I was almost bedriddden for a year and on very heavy pain medication until my spine surgery 8 months ago. I can now stand and walk straight and I take no pain medication at all anymore. It is so wonderful! I still have some stiffness in my back and he said that it might always be that way, but I feel very good. I am so thankful to have had him as my surgeon. They say it takes a year to fully heal, so I still have time to get even better. I am very gratelful, and I highly recommend Dr. Cundal!  Respond

16/11/11 5 5 5 5 I was in pain for 8 years before seeing Dr Cundal and could not live without heavy painkillers, after seeing Dr Cundal for the first time i was sent for an MRI which i had within the hour and was back in his office for a consult. We did a brief history and i told him i was a smoker. He refused the surgery until i quit smoking, but he explained that unless i quit smoking the bone graft in my spine i needed would not heal, reluctantly i gave up smoking and went ahead with the surgey with the odds of 50/50 to walking again once completed. after the surgery the first thing i wanted to do was see if i could walk, not realising i was still hooked up to drips and drains i got up and walked it felt great! for the first time in 8 yrs i had no pain. I went through the 12 months of therapy doing everything asked and 6 years later i am pain free, Thank you Dr Cundal for giving me and my family my life back. Now i tell everyone i don't have a screw loose and have the xrays to prove it  Respond

07/03/10 5 5 5 5 Great young cub from GP! He seems really focused on the problem. He even found that I had a bad case of foot fungus when he was examining my foot drop. Only problem is his iphone keeps ringing all the time and he keeps saying "Boo ya catchya!" His breath smells a bit like cat fooooood and prawns.  Respond

16/01/10 1 1 1 3 i don't really know what to say about this surgeon. I first saw him in july 09. about a 2page MRI report about my spine. He didn't care about the report he wanted to see the disc. He told me that all I needed was one disc to be repaired. L4/5 microdiscectomy and a laminectomy. So he booked me for september 22, 2009. While I was waiting to get into the surgery room the only one that was late was Dr. Cundal, he was late to operate on me so I had to wait in the hallway. this was the first problem. then he couldn't get my MRI Disc to work so he had to go into the hallway to get the info on where to make the incision. Now I am 4 months post op and the disc he removed is now protruded again in the same spot with only 30% remaining. I have had 3 MRI's done this year, and he assured me that the Disc would move in. Now 3 months after my MRI Its worse then before. Now he says he needs to do a fusion but won't book until I quit smoking???? didnt even care about the pain in my leg?  Respond

23/12/09 5 5 5 5 I had back surgery for the 1st time January 9, 2007 by a now retired surgeon. I was sent back to work without rehab on my back and rehab to get me off the pain medication that I was on for 4 years. While at work I had a mishap and re-injured my back. I met Dr. Cundal in the fall of 2009 and he re-assured me that he could fix my back and help me become pain free again, without all of the heavy duty pills..........what a concept that is going to be. Dr. Cundal also assured me that he is running the show and not my insurance company that once again wants me back at work A.S.A.P. after surgery. Dr. Cundal I am so looking forward to my surgery in March 2010 and becoming the person I used to be. All the best to you Dr. Cundal and Christine for 2010.  Respond

10/11/09 5 5 5 5 i really like this doctor. he pranced into the room and I immediately fell for his down home charm and cheeky sense of humour. He found a melon sized tumour that every other doc had thought was my pannus. wonderful doc, excised it the next day in his office  Respond

22/09/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. Cundal is the best ortho surgeon I know, (I am an RN and know a few). I have also had surgery from him... he really knows his stuff, and Alberta is fortunate to have him, just wish he was still in Grande Prairie!  Respond

17/07/09 5 5 5 5 this doctor performed surgery on my back whilst I was 3 months pregnant, he saved my back and the pregnancy would have been ended had it not been for this man. I went to emergency RV 8 times and all 8 times was told to end my pregnancy in order to have the surgery required. The emerge doctors had no knowledge of the capabiltes of this doctor. They need a lesson! Thank you Dr. Cundal for all you did for me and my baby!  Respond

30/03/09 2 3 2 2 Dr. Cundal insisted on putting a stainless steel plate and screws in my broken ankle even I told him I was allergic to metal and wanted titanium. I also had to wait 4 months for my surgery! Most people are operated on shortly after the break. I have severe nerve pain in both of my legs now because I was given a spinal anaesthetic even though i requested a local. I also had major blood pressure problems during the surgery. I know my blood pressure was as low as 41 over 39 at one point. My husband heard a code blue during my surgery and thinks it was me. I asked Dr. Cundal what happened during my surgery and he said "all I will say is we had to use extreme measures." What does that mean?  Respond

02/12/08 4 3 3 3 Dr Cundal performed back surgery on my husband 3 years ago and it is worse than before. He nicked the outer layer of his spinal cord with the root retractor causing him to lose spinal fluid. He seemed too focussed on the size of the scar rather than ensuring there was enough space to complete the surgery successfully. He left out information on the operative report, which is very important when you are dealing with WCB. His staff seem to be hired more for their looks than their abilities. When I was waiting in the waiting room, they spent the whole time discussing the party they had attended the night before and how hung over they were. Very unprofessional. He has always treated us well, and has explained everything well. He has advocated for my husband with WCB, however now has not answered the family doctors referral to see him again to assess whether there is anything further that can be done to reduce his extreme sciatica pain. To be honest I am not sure about this doctor.  Respond

15/06/08 4 4 5 5 I was lucky enough to find Dr. Cundal as an orthopedic surgeon after having to go to the ER with a knee issue. He has stuck by me with all 3 knee surgeries that I have had to have due to ongoing scar tissue issues. He has not been afraid to seek out a second opinion when needed which is always a sign of a good Dr. However when the second opinion did not seem accurate he was more than willing to take me back under his care and come up with a plan of action. He has always managed to fit me in for surgery quickly when I’ve needed it and he’s always so cheerful and never lets it show even if he’s having a bad day (which I think he never does) or is really busy. He also treats his patients with respect and he understands their fears and anxieties and he has a great bedside manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone and hopefully other surgeons can learn great patient care and bedside manner from him.  Respond

25/05/08 3 4 5 5 Dr Cundal saved me! I had years of terrible back pain and then was bed-ridden for five weeks. If it weren't for his receptionist at the time I doubt I would have had to wait the 5 weeks for me surgery. He is kind, caring (sometimes rushed), very knowledgable. He was willing to take the time to squeeze me in. I would not hesitate to recommend him as a surgeon.  Respond

22/01/08 2 4 5 5 Dr. Cundal performed back surgery on me on Sept1/06 after many many years of pain. I was very worried about the whole procedure, but Cory was very caring and helpful. Now, I am pain free and have never had such great posture...as well as no heartburn....not sure what that's all about....But just another thing to be thankful for!  Respond

16/01/08 1 1 1 3 Was referred to this doctor twice for spinal stenosis but he refused to see me as he said he had a waiting list of 2 years and wasn't seeing any new patients. Finally had to go to private surgery centre in Vancouver and now I'm pain-free.  Respond

12/01/08 5 5 5 5 I absolutely love Cory! Not only have I had the privilege of working with him as an RN in the OR, he also performed a routine back surgery on me after I fell in the hospital at work. This man has a beautiful wife and children and dedicated his time to both his career and his family/friends. He can make you feel like a million bucks when you just don't know where to turn next. The fact that he does work for WCB is awesome. Its sometimes hard to find good doctors when you are a WCB case. This is one of them. Hes a gem and has magical surgical skills. I hope he has those hands insured! ha ha! Way to go Cory..keep up the good work. And Mrs Cundal, you are one lucky lady!  Respond

21/11/07 5 5 5 5 Dr Cundal did my hip replacement surgery in Mar '07. He did an excellent job. My biggest surprise was that it took place so soon after my examination. It would have been earlier, but I had a wedding to go to in Dec '06.,in T/O. 5 stars to Dr C and the staff at Rocky View Hospital, they were all great.  Respond

03/10/07 3 4 5 5 Everytime I go back to see dr C which is every second day (great concern for my sciatica) he seems to have new office staff. I asked the last hottie if he throws things and she said "no, he just throws good parties!" What did that mean.I had really bad leg pain with foot drop on my left side and after surgery I now have foot drop on the right side which is good as it balances me out! What a great guy and he is very talented. All I remember from the surgery is hearing the word "oops. there goes the right L45" whatever that means. Anyways, He is a great guy.  Respond

13/03/07 5 5 5 A small unimposing man, but truly commands a presence. Surgically a star and very entertaining as well. He didn't seem to mind when I poined out that he had a wad of gum stuck to his pants. Pain is gone and I am on the road to recovery. I don't care if teh sensation in my legs ever comes back, as long as the pain is gone.  Respond
