Only for Dr. Ladha, I would probably have had a nervous breakdown by now. He took the time to answer alot of questions I had. He never ever rushed me through an appointment. If I had an issue with my medications or just not feeling well, he ALSO fit me in his busy schedule and seen me the next day. Don't know where I would be right now, without Dr. Ladha's help. He has made me feel like a new person. My life is so different since I started to see him. He is one of God's gifts to being an excellent doctor. Can not say enough about this great doctor. I would recommend him to anyone who is dealing with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, or just to talk to.
I had to wait hours for my appointment. He spent very little time with me. He was very reluctant to change my medication even when symptoms were very present. He is very knowledgeable about schizophrenia and bipolar I and II disorders, but has almost no knowledge concerning eating disorders, anxiety, and self harm. His patients are all very "obviously" sick in their behavior, but he does not pick up on subtle behavior in his higher functioning patients. In addition he has almost no knowledge concerning reffering his patients to longer term treatment in and outside of the province. I believe taht he believes this is the job of the therapist. However, these treatment facilities need a psychiatrists approval for treatment. Also it is very very difficult to get an appointment with him. His assistants do not call you back, and I believe he is undergoing a change in staff. Make sure to be honest with them as to the severity of your situation.
I saw him yell at a patient who proceeded to cry for 2 days after that. He's a good doctor who has a lot of power in town. Perhaps he thinks this gives him license to act however he wants, but I think it was just a matter of plain old human error and frustration with the patient. Doctors are human. He does listen to his patients and that's why there is a 2-3 hour wait, but the trade of is good; wait 3 hours and get thourough care or get in in about 20 minutes and get 5 minutes. some patients slip through the cracks of his case load. He's busy, but I think he wants to do all he can for his patients.
Very nice doctor, takes time to listen. He is very understanding and shows his concern. However, the 2 to 3 hour waiting time is not pleasant and this is for every visit I've had. Many times you have to wait in the busy hall way.
this guy is just too important...with his expert witness testimony, no explanations of why he does not show up and very little followup. I find him a thinking man but he gives very little time to you. He is ,you see, needed in much more important cases...law courts, etc. then treating his patients. Arrogant !!
