24/09/12 3 4 1 1 An absolute waste of time! This man has a God complex and if you dare question him, he has no problem telling you how you and other doctors don't know anything. For the better part of two years, I had little to no improvement with his consultations. What I love is how specialists in other fields I see get mad at me for Grundy’s lack of proper medical care. But no one stepped forward to phone Grundy and question him or get me into to see a better endocrinologist. The only reason I am getting better is because I am not following any of Grundy’s recommendations of drugs/dosages and paying for tests Grundy thinks are unnecessary – tests that are coming back abnormal. He only uses synthroid and refuses patients dessicated thyroid if you are hypothyroid. He did not adequately prescribe type and dose of vitamin d to not only increase my levels but treat my hyperparathyriodism. He totally ignored by my lack of hormonal imbalance. Doctors like this keep people sick.  Respond

28/06/12 5 5 5 5 i had my thyroid removed last year (cancer) and have seen him twice over the past 6 months, and absolutely adore him! i honestly just made this account so i could share my own opinion of dr grundy! i read the other reviews here when i was referred to him, and was dreading my appointment, but i'm so glad he is my endo! i'm a 20 yr old female, am doing this whole thing on my own, and the staff and dr grundy have been nothing but nice to me! he is never very late for appointments, is thorough, answers all my questions, and gives me all the information i could ever need! he fills up fast so i book appointments 8months+ in advance, but thats normal! hes' even filled out paperwork for me when my health insurance needed special authorization for a prescription! i've my coordinated 2 rounds of RAI with him and everything is always taken care of nicely! he monitors my bloodwork and calls me and my pharmacy when we need to change my dosage! i couldn't be happier!  Respond

15/12/11 1 1 1 3 The staff at this office should be fired and replaced. They are rude and unprofessional. I refuse to go back to see this doctor. I have cancelled appointments only to be told I did not do so! I fine the time I take to drive downtown, park, sit for and hour and then have 3-5 min with him is a waste of my time. He never follows up with patients and rarly has done anything for me! I learned to adjust my own medication and find other helpful ways to deal with my disease. I left a message once to have my call returned a month later. Give me a break. If you have that many patients, I suggest you get rid of some!  Respond

04/05/11 2 5 5 5 Dr. Grundy is kind and shows great compassion. He knew my levels were out prior to the blood work. While he is a very busy doctor he spends a considerable amount of time and energy with patients. I did get the sense that he cannot tolerate people coming in with trivial complaints. Unfortunately, I do not have trivial complaints and he needs to use his expertise which is top rate.  Respond

08/03/11 3 2 1 2 Very rude! Didn’t listen to my problems at all! Even said my own doctor was crazy for choosing the treatment that we agreed on. He was so disrespectful to me!  Respond

10/09/10 2 5 5 4 Met Dr. Grundy in the Hospital and at his Office downtown. Every time he was kind & helpful. Never had to wait to see him as i would for any other doctor appointment here in Calgary. However, i do agree that his staff are not overly friendly by any means.  Respond

07/09/10 2 4 2 3 Dr. Gundy was very friendly during my time spent in the Hospital but the moment that i stepped into his office downtown, i felt as though he was a completely different person. There was an arrogance about him and an unwillingness to listen to my concerns. And, his staff... OMG! All i can say is that Calgary must be desperate for workers. I'm not sure if it's lack of Education but they certainly do not understand the meaning of "Customer Service".  Respond

23/04/10 3 5 5 5 I think Dr. Grundy was wonderful. He really took the time to talk with me and understand my concerns. I talked with him for a good hour, and he seems like he is going to do everything he can to help. Which it is a relief to have a doctor that truly cares about his patients!  Respond

10/02/10 5 4 5 5 He actually apologized for making me wait (10 minutes). I found that he took me very seriously and answered all my questions thoroughly. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I did not feel rushed at all. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. The girls at the front were friendly and professional.  Respond

24/09/09 1 4 3 3 I still can not say anythng about the doctor. But his staff is the worse I have ever encoutered. Rude, rushed, do not even listen to what you have to say. They just keep on answering the same thing (no) as those telemarketing people. I had been waiting for 4 weekes to have a thyroid up take while with high levels of hormones and NO treatment whatsoever. But I was supposed to be informed if I should do the test or not, based on the last hormone test. The staff wouldn't listen when I called to confirm saying they would ask the doctor if the rsults were normal or not. I insisted that it was not the case, I needed confirmation for the uptake scheduled 2 days later. She hang up on me!!!  Respond

21/06/08 1 2 1 3 I found Dr. Grundy to be very impersonable, arrogant and unapproachable. When dealing with thyroid cancer he just didn't get how stressful the experience is. I waited for him to get back to me on test results for almost two months and one month on seperate occasions when he received the scan within two weeks. He also did not check my thyroid levels and left me on the wrong dose of thyroid hormone for 4 months. I would seriously consider looking elsewhere for this type of specialist especially if you are dealing with something as stressful as cancer. Most of the staff that I dealt with are also very rude and unhelpful  Respond

07/06/08 3 3 1 2 This doctor is nice but very busy. My problems have become extremely severe after several years, to the point of near crippling. The problem is that I have seen him only a couple of times as he doesn't request physicians to send patients for follow-ups. So I continue to suffer from more and more serious damage, pain, and tumor growth and no one seems to know what to do. My ratings may not be fair as I am basing them more on my condition than on anything else I suppose.  Respond

30/05/08 4 2 1 2 waited 3 months, and drove for 5 hours to visit this Doctor. I was awestruck at how arrogant he was, he refused to look at my symptoms or listen to what my problem was. very condescending! Told me to get counseling! Seems to be full of contempt! So very glad I consulted Other doctors who discovered my thyroid hormone resistance problem. I would never go back to him again!  Respond

02/05/08 5 5 4 3 I like this doc but felt he wasn't totally "caught up" with the latest medical news. Agree through, with a previous comment that he's so very busy I'm not sure he has time.  Respond

04/02/08 2 2 1 1 Dr Grundy seemed to have no idea about the complications of thyroid disorders at all and his only suggestions as to why i go from Hyperthyrodic to Hypo was "maybe your unmotivated and depressed". Being in the medical proffession it seemed like i had more insight as to what could be causing the problem than he did, and even that he dismissed and had no advice what so ever. After gaining 30 lbs in 6 months due to my thyroid problems and not being able to find a doctor that knows how to deal with such issues as unstable thyroids, you bet thats depressing! I found him condesending and left the office crying, which seemed like his goal. I would highly recomend refusing a refferal to this doctor.  Respond

25/09/07 5 5 5 5 Dr. Grundy is an amazing endocrinologist! I appreciate his knowledge, skills and professionalism. He also has a great sense of humor which comes in handy when you’re seeing a specialist. As far as being rushed goes I've had 45-minute long appointments with him for the last few years. I wish my GP were as personable and professional as Dr. Grundy.  Respond

25/07/07 1 2 1 1 I have seen this doctor for 10 years. I never feel he knows who I am each time I go into his office. He does not put your mind at ease and he rushes you. He does not listen!!!He just says wait another 6 months. Well when you have had thyroid cancer and have 4 young children 6 months is way to long to wait. He just does not get it!!  Respond

01/04/07 3 1 1 Dr. Grundy,I found him to be strictly scientific and did not look at his patients as an indivdual so therefore he was unable to help as was needed and so I looked elsewhere.  Respond

22/03/07 4 5 5 I found Dr.Grundy to be very helpful,he was the only specialist that found out that I had a very rare disorder,he was very thorough. Every other specialist just sent me away. I would highly recommend this doctor.  Respond

07/03/07 4 5 5 Dr Gundy is always super nice and very descriptive with me when going over my info. He took a chance with some testing for me to see if I have a rare disease, and I'm so glad he did, because it came back positive. After 2 surgeries to remove tumors from my brain, he's now helping me get back on track to health so I can start a family. I think he is wonderful, and he saved my life!!  Respond

02/03/07 2 1 2 I was diagnosed with graves ( over active thyroid) The amount of patients this doctor sees in a hour, incrediable. I saw Peter for months to find out he did not even check my blood tests that he was suppose to monitor. At one appointment I waited over an hour to see him than he gave me 3 minutes of his time which was of no value to me. Make sure you check your own blood test's results when dealing with this doctor I was way way out for months and no one said a thing.  Respond
