18/02/14 4 5 5 5 I was referred to Dr. Nigam by my Optometrist, she recognized the problems I was having with my eyes and the urgency required. She was very direct and never wasted my time. Her surgical skills were excellent and my vision is the best it's ever been without any complications so far based on the IOL she recommended. She was very helpful in providing information for the insurance companies in a timely manner.

17/04/13 5 5 5 5 I had cataract surgery early this year. I was told that because I had lasik surgery in the past that I might not have an optimum outcome, however, the results were excellent. The office staff are all excellent, and I have recommended Dr. Nigam to others.

12/07/12 4 4 5 5 Dr. Nigam may be a bit abrupt but she is very good and very knowledgeable. I have been seeing her for quite a few years regarding my glaucoma. This year I had cataract surgeries done by her on both my eyes and am very happy with the outcome and with the care I received. Any time I have a list of questions she answers all of them to my satisfaction. The quality of medical service is what is important, not the bedside manner. I have no complaints.  Respond

11/07/12 4 5 4 5 This doctor treated my father in laws cataracts & did a wonderful job. The appointment prior to surgery was as expected in this day & age. People need to realize seeing a doctor for free is a privilege in this country. The assembly style procedure one person referred to was fine. We went from room to room. Each room had a different technician with a different very expensive eye testing machine. The test was quick & very professional. Doctors are overworked in Canada. Especially specialists. Drs do not have time to hold your hand & discuss your child's soccer game anymore. Specialists are not your GP where one discusses everything. You are there to have your eye examined and that's it. Get used to the new method of medicine. As for negative comments re her bedside manner, it may be related to her culture. She does excellent work. Surgeons rarely have good bedside manner. As for discussing little with patients, go in with a list of questions as we did & she will answer each& every one  Respond

24/05/12 3 3 3 5 It was my first experience with a medical Doctor where I was treated as a thing, object and a non being. This Doctor may be good professionally at what she does but her bedside manner is lacking in humanity towards her patient. I would not return. Office staff is good, not bad for wait times and quite knowledgable but she was abrupt and made you feel like you had no right to ask questions and would give one word answers. Very very unimpressed with her cold uncaring unfeeling mechanical attitude towards those patients who are allowing her to earn a living!  Respond

03/03/12 3 1 1 1 shortest eye exam I have ever had. Cold and arrogant I did not trust her at all. I have many eye problems and have never had a complaint about any of my care. This is a first.  Respond

13/05/11 5 4 5 5 Reception and tech staff were very friendly, efficiant and helpful. I was informed by phone that I should bring a driver to my appointment because eyedrops used in my examination would prevent me from driving. The doctor conducted a thorough investigation of the meds I was on (even searced the pharmacology book to confirm the side effects of a med I was on that she was not familiar with). She answered all of my questions regarding the diagnosis and treatment plan. Follow up visit scheduled for a month later.  Respond

11/05/10 4 3 2 3 I went to see her via a consult from urgent care - possibly an eye infection. She did not take a history, didn't even ask my name - just took a look with the slit lamp. She might have been spot-on with the diagnosis, but her bedside manner is nonexistent. She looked really bored and irritated just being there. Ditto to the other posters - I get it, you make $800 every 20 minutes, but can you at least be *civil* to your patients? I am a medical student and the way she "explained" what was wrong with my eye (she didn't know what I study) almost anybody would have been confused. If you have the option, do not see this doctor. It doesn't matter how amazing she might be otherwise, but crappy explanation and crappy history taking skills will only make things worse for patients.  Respond

05/04/07 5 5 5 I was referred to this doctor from a friend who had a good experience. I made an appointment as was seen the next day! I was squeezed in because they were full. I arrived 10 minutes early, I was promptly given forms to fill out. As soon as I finished them, it was my appointment time, and I was immediately taken into a room by one of the staff members (who all seemed very nice). The doctor came into the room, had a great bedisde manner, and completed the exam, and gave me my prescription in a manner of minutes. While my ailment was minor, I was given a through checkup outside of the scope of my condition. It was quick, fast, painless, and very pleasant. She also mentioned that I had a similar condition manifesting in my other eye, (which I was unaware of), and that I should watch for symptoms that could develop. Overal I would have to say that I felt at ease the entire time, the waiting room was pleasant, the staff and doctor were cheerful, professional, it was a great experience!  Respond

26/03/07 3 2 2 My thought after seing this doctor was that she must forget why she ever went into medicine in the first place. She does not appear to care for the patient sitting before of her, explains nothing, and appears arrogant. I have seen doctors considered of a much "higher status", who face you, answer your questions, and take a moment to act like human beings while demonstarting that they actually CARE. I hope she at least knows what she is doing with those she continues to treat because her arrogance might come back to bite her.  Respond

17/03/07 3 1 1 Very strange/bad experience. Curtly walks in room while an assistant moves behind you clasping you head on either side moving your head from side to side for this doctor, as though it is far too much to simply say turn this way?? VERY COLD Why on earth would a human being want someone jerking their head around in silence ...I had never had this type of exam before! I didn't know that the solution that was put into my eyes would impair my vison so it scared me ..until another patient in the waitng room told me what it was! I had driven to this clinic and had no idea that I would not be able to drive home ,this should have been explained to me ..I was left to stagger out of the clinic so visually impaired as to not even see the reception area and there was no one around anyway to assist me with any inquires for help !!!!It was so awful and frighting, if your family doctor refers to this one.. well beware.  Respond
