20/06/14 2 2 1 1 10 years ago, I went to Dr. Storwick for an injectable to soften my nasal labial folds. For reasons which still puzzle me, he gave me Dermalive, which was pulled off the market soon after I got it. I developed huge, disfiguring capsulations all along the injectable area. I got off lucky; my current dermatologist, Dr. Remington, told me he's seen former Storwick patients who look like Gorans from Star Trek; huge welts of Dermalive around their eyes. I went back to Dr. S to talk about the situation; I remember him saying "Good fill! Good fill!" while his nurse/minion nodded in agreement. He didn't offer to do anything about this very serious (and common) reaction to Dermalive. After 6 years of Dr. R blasting them with Kenalog (and seeing no difference),this week I opted to have him cut them out surgically. Way to step up, Dr. S! That's why Dr. R gets *all* my business. You treat patients in a dismissive manner and refuse to take responsibility for maiming us. DO NOT GO TO THIS "DOCTOR".  Respond

03/03/14 3 1 1 1 I see Dr. Storwick for pigmentation problem. An initial consultation was a 6 months wait. Another hour of wait on the appointment date. I did not even get to see Dr. Storwick at all! A female doctor briefly looked at my face and prescribed a cream for me (a similar product that I have been using). And then she asked if I am interested in "chemical peel"? I said yes then she left me with a nurse who suppose to explain to me what it is. The nurse passed me to the front desk who suppose to give me information. Ended up the printer failed and I have nothing to take except a web address. I asked how effect it is and how long is the downtime etc, no one can answer me. They said I need to make another appointment in order to start the "chemical peel". But how can I judge if I should start the chemical peel if I was told NOTHING? Why couldn't they explained on the spot and let me make an informed decision? A total waste of time!!!  Respond

24/10/13 3 1 1 3 Consultation began 35 minutes late. Storwick entered room, neglected to introduce himself and asked "what are we doing here?". I responded that I was there for a consultation. The next question completely shocked me, "are you on your daddy's payroll?". I thought I must have misheard (as the question was inappropriate and completely irrelevant to my consultation) but he repeated the question again, with the qualifier.."does your dad pay your way". After informing him that I was a completely self sufficient 25 year old woman, he launched into an explanation of treatment options. He scoffed at one of the questions I asked and generally made me feel like the things I asked were a waste of his time. He finished by saying in a condescending tone "well I can tell you aren't going to decided on a treatment today, seems like you are a real thinker..I'll leave your file open". Storwick was clear that my apt was a consultation but he made me feel my inquisitions were a waste of his time. STAY AWAY  Respond

04/05/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Storwick is the best dermatologist that I have had the pleasure of meeting. He does a thorough examination and answers all questions that you have. He will explain what he is doing and is so personable that you almost forget the invasive treatment that is sometimes required. This man is intelligent, patient, kind and has all the time in the world for you. His staff is always ready to assist. I have heard horror stories from lots of my friends about their doctors and I have recommended Dr. Storwick to everyone I know and they all feel the same way that I do.

17/02/13 5 5 5 5 I LOVE this man! I have a rare skin disorder (Morphea) as well as a lot of moles and to top it off adult acne. Yay me... I have seen Storwick for all three conditions and have been a patient for almost 10 years. He is kind, patient, hilarious and extremely knowledgeable and has bent over backwards to help me. Offering referrals to other doctors for unrelated conditions etc. He has called me at home to answer concerns I had with my sons reaction to accutane and my son isn't even his patient! His nurses are excellent especially Jenn and Tracy. The front desk girls can be a bit cranky with patients and don't know a lot about the products that are sold in the waiting room. That being said they will always go grab a nurse if you have questions. They also put up with a lot of inconsiderate patients i.e the people that show up late or miss apts causing the long waiting room wait times! Dr.Storwick is not offensive or rude, he is honest and I appreciate that in a doctor!  Respond

09/11/12 4 3 5 5 After a car accident, my face was left with scars that made me ashamed to go out in public. Children would gasp and stare. Sometimes, their parents would be just as bad at gawking! I went to three plastic surgeons, and two other dermatologists who gave me the same story - "can't do anything about it." I was only 17 years old, and I use to be gorgeous. So I was so upset to think that there was nothing that could be done for the scars on my face .... but they were wrong! My first appointment with Dr Storwick was my last attempt to find help. He looked me straight in the eye, and told me he could never get rid of those scars (my heart sank), but he could make them a lot less noticeable! Faster than you could say go, he had me on a exam table with needles and lasers coming at me from all angles! I was overwhelmed, and in SO MUCH PAIN ... but it was worth it! He saw me once every six weeks for three years. Today, my scars are still there, but with a bit of make up, no one else sees them!  Respond

12/09/12 3 3 1 2 I saw this doctor 13 years ago when I was 17, and I'm still traumatized from this experience. I was referred to him to have genital warts removed. While he was doing this, he told me that I was very attractive and that I should work at Cowboys. He asked me if I shaved "down there" just for him. When I said no, he said "well, I like it." I became tense so he repeatedly spanked me lightly, to help me 'relax.' I was in a state of panic and didn't say much. When he was finished he stood by the door and said, "next time wear a shirt." I was wearing a tank top. I felt like this was his way of saying that I invited his advances. Several people on this site have suggested that they may have had similar experiences. My complaints were dismissed because Dr.Storwick had no prior complaints. If something similar happened to you, I urge you to contact the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons. I have no reason to be malicious against Dr.Storwick. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else.  See Responses

03/07/12 5 5 5 5 I would highly recommend Dr Storwick. I was diagnosed with melanoma and he was extremely caring and professional. He is very knowledgable, personable and considerate. I will be living abroad but continue to travel back to be under his care as I do not feel that I could find a better dermatologist anywhere else.  Respond

12/05/12 1 3 1 1 I would not recommend this clinic. The clinic is soley motivated by money. I went in for botox treatment on my forehead. The next day I developed a vertical line running down my forehead. When I went back all he could say was that he missed that. When I asked for a refund he simply suggested that I go back and see him in six months and that I try not to sleep on that side. The last straw can when I went in for lazer hair removal. After I left I noticed the nurse completely missed a whole section on my chin. I then experienced difficulty getting in for a touch up. When I finally got in the nurse asked if the area had already been treated but did not take. I explained to her that I was not sure. The second trip was a complete waste of my time as I could not get it re-lasered because they were not sure if it was lasered the first time.  Respond

24/01/12 5 3 5 5 I've been going to Dr. Storwick since 2008. He has treated- moles, a facial scar, warts and spider veins around my nose. He is very kind and caring. 03/01/12 5 5 5 5 Dr Storwick is an honest, knowledgable and respectful Dr. I have been seeing him for close to 10 years, along with my daughter and husband. After inquiring about laser resurfacing, he asked me to wait to see if my acne scarring would resolve naturally. A year later, he considered doing the treatment. That is a sign he is not interested in making money, but was looking out for my best interests. Love the staff and have had many positive experiences in this clinic through the years.  Respond

26/10/11 4 2 5 5 My family and I have been seeing Dr.Storwick for 15 years. He looks you over quickly and always has, he can tell quickly what will work for you. His mannerism is brutally honest and I wouldn't recommend him if you are sensitive but he knows his stuff and he will help you achieve your skin health goals. I disagree with some of the comments that say Dr.Storwick is only interested in money and cosmetic dermatology. I say this because I was interested in having some minor spider veins lasered and he recommended to wait until after having children as they would likely worsen during pregnancy. If he was only interested in money I likely would have had the procedure done only to find out it wouldn’t be a permanent fix. My biggest criticism is the poor wait times, however if you don’t care about being best friends with your doctor and just want someone thorough, knowledgeable, with years of experience and proven results then I would recommend Dr.Storwick.  Respond

14/01/11 4 4 1 1 After 5 months of waiting, my baby-son got an appointment, where this so-called Dr. told me that my son had eczema, without even looking at his whole body covered with hives (another specialist later told me it was always hives) but just looking at exposed skin on his arms that I practically forced him to look at), and said there was no connection between his eczema and food allergies, and he did not know who in the city would even test for allergies, and that my son would live his whole life and die with his eczema. He then prescribed a medication that is not even designed nor tested for kids under 2, and told me specifically not to read on the packaging and Internet about it and just use the medication. Complete waste of time. He completely ruined my trust in doctors, adding to bad impression my son's GP gave me. My son and I both suffered many months more before I found a good specialist BY TALKING TO ANOTHER MOM AT A PLAYGROUND!!!  Respond

28/09/10 1 4 5 5 Front office staff is absolutely awful. They are so rude and have messed up my appt. times twice and have never apologized or offered to fix it. Seems to be an organizational thing. Always call a few weeks in advance to check on your appt, instead of waiting as they will not fit you in for months again. BUT Dr. S is wonderful, very caring and I never feel rushed. He knows his stuff! It is a shame the appointment booking etc is so terrible, otherwise I would give him 100%!  Respond

10/02/09 5 5 5 5 I have been referred to Dr Storwick a couple times to have moles checked (as a youth, I spent way too much time in the sun without protection) and on each occasion I was very satisfied with the care I received. Most recently, he volunteered to take some skin tags from around my eyes. They only bothered me occasionally and I was not seeing him for their removal or investigation. It was a bit of a painful experience and being as they were around my eyes, I cried like a baby (my eyes watered). It was great to have this done and I couldn’t be happier now and he volunteered which I attribute to caring. Although he may have an odd manner it is immediately evident to me that he truly enjoys his profession and in my experience very attentive and eager to assist his patient . . . me.  Respond

21/10/08 4 2 2 3 Have been to this doctor a couple of times to get moles checked and removed. Although he seems to be knowledgeable, I find his manner to be at best, odd and at worst, offensive. I also appreciate a doctor who is straightforward, but comments like "What the h*ll is that?" like he made about a spot on my face are not helpful in any way.

21/08/08 5 5 5 5 I am currently going to Dr. Storwick for treatment of Plantar Warts. When i made my first appointment, i had no clue what to expect. when the nurse took me into the room, she told me what he may do. when he came into the room, he put me at ease by explaining exactly what my options were, and letting me decide. As my treatment was very painful, he, along with his assistants/nurses, made me feel very comfortable and asked several times if i was ok. His sense of humor also makes it that much easier. 25/03/08 4 5 5 5 My husband and I have been going to Dr. Storwick for 15 years and have never been disappointed in his diagnosis nor treatment. I've even tried another dermatologist to compare and returned to Storwick. We brought our grandson to him in an emergency situation when he was visiting from out of town and had a penicillin reaction - Dr. Storwick diagnosed it walking through the door and told me the treatment that should begin immediately and then gave me his private home phone number in case we had to take our little guy to Children's Hospital so they could cross reference with him and expedite emergency treatment! Doesn't get any better than that. He's diagnosed skin cancers on my husband's face due to his being an avid golfer and it's one of the hazards. My only complaint is I find the nurse/assistants have 'way too much to say. I'm not paying for their input so please be quiet and assist the boss.  Respond

19/11/07 1 1 1 3 BEEN SEEING DR. STROWICK FOR 18 YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY I WILL LOOK FOR ANOTHER DERMATOLOGIST. 08/11/07 1 4 1 4 The first time I ever saw Dr. Storwick he was rude, arrogant and insulting. I asked my GP for another referral to someone else and she indicated that it was maybe a mistake and I should try one more visit. While his bedside manner hasn't improved, he did give me a diagnosis and I've learned to deal with his comments. I did have a question about a medication I was taking and felt rushed when I asked it. He has also given me different answers on separate occasions so I'm not sure how much he listens.  Respond

11/04/07 2 1 3 He is a commercialized and expensive doctor, money is his priority. He would not try to help you applying for Blue Cross assistance as if this would be too much work for him to do. My daughter required lazer surgery, we didn't find any improvement after serveral treatments, gave concern and asked how many more would be helpful but the answer was uncertain, that was fine because I understood the tecnology itself wasn't improved a whole lot.
