:) Click to report rating *  11/13/09 4 4 5 After years of undiagnosed bladder pain I was finally referred to a genious. Two weeks ago I was introduced to Dr. Kristene Whitmore at my new patient appointment. I came into my appointment with several concerns and questions. During my exam Dr. Whitmore engaged conversation and made sure I did not leave her office until each and every question or concern of mine was addressed. Now, just 9 days on a new plan of treatment I am feeling like a new woman. Thank god for Dr. Whitmore's expertise and unwavering attention to patient care.

:) Click to report rating *  11/9/09 5 5 5 I am a patient of DR. Whitmore and I am very happy with her care. She took her time and explained a number of my sysmptoms and gave me a number of suggestions to also take a role in my own healing. Her staff was polite and helpful.

:) Click to report rating    10/16/09 2 1 2 I saw Dr. Whitmore 3 weeks after I had a lap and was diagnosed with Endometriosis by my OB and Urologist. I have Endo on my bladder/bowels/pelvic floor. My first experience at Dr. Whitmore's office: 2.5hr wait, 20 min exam, IC diagnosis, perscribed meds, and told to return in 6mon. Needless to say, I did not return. Just recently I had my uterus removed and was diagnosed with IC and a Hunner ulcer. I have be contemplating returning to see Dr. Whitmore but it seems nothing has changed since my visit 8yr ago. I am leaning towards locating another IC specialist that operates with integrity and has a better bedside manner. I would rather have the 2nd most knowledgable IC doctor who is compassionate, chronic pain patients NEED that, then someone who thinks their time is more valuable than anyone elses. If Dr. Whitmore would manger her time better and listen instead of waiting to talk, I would return and could look past her character flaws.

:( Click to report rating    6/30/09 1 1 1 I have spent thousands of dollars (no exaggeration) on treatment, only to find out she made me worse. She is a witch doctor, miserable human being, not at all compassionate, and arrogant. I think I just about covered it. Oh, for Jennifer, she is just as arrogant. Her office staff leaves a lot to be desired, but I believe that is because her office manager is a piece of work too and does the hiring. Please, find another urologist. Unless of course, you like to be a guinea pig

:) Click to report rating    4/23/09 5 4 5 I thought I my conditions were something I would have to deal with for the rest of my life. I was so happy to be referred to Dr. Whitmore and that her office was in my city. Like the person who rated her before me: She is not afraid to try new and alternative treatments when other doctors have said that there is nothing else that could be done. The Nurse Practitioners in her office, Jennifer Fariello and Amy Rejba, are fabulous! They have a wonderful bedside manner and are right on par with Dr. Whitmore. I have been going to Jennifer for over a year now (now only every 3 months) and I couldn't ask for better help! She makes me feel comfortable and is so encouraging. She has literally has helped correct my IC, vulvodynia and pelvic floor dysfunction by at least a 90% improvement. I'm still floored that in a year, my conditions have improved that drastically. I recommend them whole-heartedly if you have any of these conditions.

:) Click to report rating    4/16/09 5 3 5 Dr. Whitmore is one of the most renowned IC experts in the country. She is not afraid to try new and alternative treatments when other doctors have said that there is nothing else that could be done. The Nurse Practitioners in her office, Jennifer Fariello and Amy Rejba, are fabulous! They have a wonderful bedside manner and are right on par with Dr. Whitmore. Their knowledge on IC, vulvodynia and pelvic floor dysfunction is unsurpassed by most practitioners, and that includes most doctors I have encountered!!!! The entire office works as a team and are always there to help. I would recommend this office to anyone with IC, vulvodynia and/or pelvic floor dysfunction.

:) Click to report rating    2/20/09 5 2 3 While she is not very warm, she knows her stuff. Her nurses, MAs, and front desk girls were all wonderful and full of smiles. It amazes me that with all these bad reviews, her office was still jam packed with loyal patients and there was a 2 and a half month wait for an appt with her. The woman must be doing something right. I saw her once and her NP once. The NP has a much better bedside manner. The MA that drew my blood was amazing. While i admit, sometimes it takes a couple days for a call back, I can also understand that they are extremely busy. But every time i call with a question, the girls who answer the phone are always kind, patient, and understanding with me. I think she is running a fine practice, and would definately recommend her to anyone with IC related issues.

:) Click to report rating    9/2/08 3 1 3 Dr whitmore is a Renowned physician in her specialty. i have respect for her knowledge. She does have a very headstrong personality. She does not easily show a warm side. Office staff can be abrasive and a bit unorganized. I have heard many complaints about her, but I do like her and admire her. Some of the longest wait times i have ever experienced have been in her office. She is an innovator in her field of research. Her Nurse Practitioners are WONDERFUL. She is a brilliant woman. I wish she would be a bit nicer during visits, but I do respect her as a physician. I would suggest her as a physician, but if you cannot handle her personality or manner, you would have to find someone else to see. She does know a lot so I try to overlook things that i would not tolerate in other offices!

:( Click to report rating    6/15/08 1 1 1 Well, well, well.... I log on to this site and what do I see? Most of the negative reviews of Dr. Whitmore could have been written by me! They pretty much sum up my experience with her over the last 2 visits: cold personality-check, zero compassion-check, tardy-check, doesn't return calls-check, poor bedside manner-check, check, check! I do find it amusing that someone else mentioned that she kept adjusting her Gucci sandals during an exam, as the same thing happened to me. Although I think in my case she had Chanel loafers on. No kidding. In the country I'm from originally (Poland), physicians are known for humility and compassion. They also speak Latin, are educated in broad medicine and do not flaunt their designer clothes in front of a patient. Everyone know that they make a good living, why the need for making such statement with their patients? I have a strong feeling that in the end Dr. Whitmore will be left with her academic research only and zero of actual patients.

:| Click to report rating    5/20/08 1 1 1 Dr. Whitmore, is a cold, unfeeling, rude and conceited doctor. They never return a phone call. The only time she was courteous was as I went into surgery. Every exam had an army of student, and interns staring at my bottom. I was so horrified! The next appointment I got stronger. I would not allow anyone examine me except my doctor. You have to make sure you make your appointment with Dr Whitmore or the NP that you want to see. I did like the nurse practitioner better the the Doc. If there was another female Urologist I would go there. She to arrogant for me, but I don't know where else to go.

:( Click to report rating    4/4/08 2 1 2 2 years ago, had surg. for dropped bladder. Tremendous pain after surgery. Removed ovaries although not diseased. Whitmore stopped in a brief moment after surg and I asked why? Dr. said, 'while I was in there, I decided to TAKE IT ALL OUT'. I called office many times after surg. due to severe pain. Could not sit for days. Had to stand or lay down constantly for 3 weeks. Whitmore never called to speak w/me. I only spoke with office staff that could not help. I saw doctor a total of 3 brief times. She does not wear lab coat. Cold, conceited and uncaring. Stay away!!!! Now experiencing loss of hair, neck pain, skin thinning, weight gain, and high blood pressure. I did not have these symptoms before surgery. My estrogen is low now. I wish Dr. Whitmore well, but if she ever needs a doctor I hope she gets the exact treatment she gives to her patients. Do not expect to see doc. after surg. Only nurse practitioners. No complaints with them. They do their best under the circumstances.

:( Click to report rating    1/5/08 1 1 1 awful. never on time, uncaring, and cold. Despite the fact that she deals with patients who experience pelvic pain, her exams are rough and she ridicules you if you ever even say "ouch" during an exam. BUT-- the nurse practitioners there- Amy Rejba and Jennifer Fariello are great! Don't see Dr. Whitmore- just see her nurse practitioners.

Over the years she has helped thousands.I find her staff supportive. She has patients who have been with her for years. She is always willing to try something new, if she feels it may help. :| Click to report rating    11/7/07 4 2 3 I still use this office, however I see the NP. I only saw this dr during my hydro. Before the hydro, she was very warm, friendly and cheerful. After, when I had complications, she couldnt be reached, and i had to stay over in the hospital. I was so scared, the next day when she visited my room, she told me that she said there could be complications, I felt like i was beeing rushed out of the hospital. I ended up crying to her intern because i was so scared and ended up staying in the hospital the whole day waiting to be discharged even though it seemed like she wanted me out. I did have problems with the NP, she yelled at me a few times because I was in too much pain for an internal exam. It was not until i went to PT that her attitude changed and she actually gave me a hug because i improved so much. She kept telling me i had anxiety but the PT proved it was muscle related and not in my head!! I would leave in tears. Good news they have a new girl at the front desk!

:( Click to report rating    9/4/07 1 1 1 not on time, rude and anythng else you can think of. She did a surgery on me implanted a device six monthes earlier. Then this device needed to come out due to an infection and what did she do she just decided to implant another device without permission in my other side. What a crock of a doctor. And her staff is rude and dont care about your privacy at all and they always throw in their two cents.

:( Click to report rating    8/7/07 1 1 1 Seeing Dr. WHitmore was the worst decision I ever made. I waited three hours to see her and she talked to me for about two minutes. She sat with her back towards me and fired away with questions yet as soon as i started speaking would cut me off and get angry because the meds I was prescribed were not working. She accused me of pretending to take medication and coming into the doctors office and lying about it...I was in SHOCK. She said "You will never get better" and "I cant help you" then walked out of there and her NP gave me a card for a hypnotist and an accupuncturist.... I need to find a new uro FAST! She made me feel like it was my OWN fault for being in so much pain...oh and dont bother to call any doc or nurse practitioner because they will never call you back.

:( Click to report rating    7/20/07 1 1 1 Dr. Whitmore and her office staff are prime examples of what's wrong with medicine. Her office staff are incompetent, they have zero respect for your privacy, and will make comments to you about your health that are none of their business. Dr. Whitmore is ALWAYS behind schedule by an hour or more, and never spends more than five minutes with you. If you are frustrated because you are in pain, she does not want to hear it. If you don't qualify for one of her studies, she is not interested in you. She does not understand what it means to CARE for a patient. I had such a bad experience with her and her office staff the first time, but I figured everyone deserves a second chance, so I went back for a follow-up. My second experience was worse than the first. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else!

:| Click to report rating    7/4/07 1 1 1 STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. Dr. Whitmore is conceited and nasty and has zero compassion for people who are truly suffering. If you complain about the two hour wait, or the rudness and incompetence of her front desk staff, or the way her front desk staff has no respect for privacy issues she will tell you that if you don't like it, you should go somewhere else. On that point- take her advice: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Oh, and if you ever have a health problem- don't bother calling, nobody will ever call you back.

:( Click to report rating    5/20/07 1 1 Dr. Whitmore has a horrible bedside manner. She did an unsuccessful surgery on me and did not say more than 2 words to more during the consultation exam. After the surgery, she was cold, and not interested in giving information, or answering questions, and she had zero interest in comforting me or putting me at ease. I left in tears!

:) Click to report rating    5/15/07 3 5 I was not thrilled with Dr. Whitmore at first because she definitly doesn't have the best bedside manner-- BUT-- when I needed to have a procedure done, and my nurse practitioner from her office wanted to be there to reassure me, Dr. Whitmore rearranged her operating schedule so that my procedure could be done at a time when my nurse practitioner was available to be there with me. Dr. Whitmore was a lot more comforting and gentle on the day of the procedure, I have a new respect and fondness for her-- AND- regardless of her bedside manner, she is on the forefront of research and truly cares about helping her patients... I highly reccomend her, just be prepared to wait a little and don't take any attitude too seriously!

:) Click to report rating    4/23/07 1 2 It's true she is not warm and fuzzy but she does not what the latest advances are on the forefront and is willing to try alternative treatment. Being so involved in the Interstitial Cystitis Assoc. and so many other assoc., she just doesn't have the time to devote to seeing patients, I don't think. I've waited up to 2 hours in her office. The worst part: the front desk...one clerk in particular (won't mention names). The clerk Not the doctor, is rude, no empathy, feels like you're bothering her, rushes you off the phone. I avoid the place mainly b/c of her!

:) Click to report rating    4/9/07 3 4 Dr. Whitmore really knows her stuff and is up to date on the latest treatments. She could use a little work on her bedside manner, but to her credit, she did listen to everything I had to say and didn't brush off my concerns or fears, she just isn't really the warm fuzzy type. If you want an EXCELLENT, SMART, UP TO DATE doctor who does take the time to listen-- see Dr. Whitmore. If your only concern is "warm and fuzzy" see someone else.

:( Click to report rating    2/26/07 1 1 Never on time!!!!!!!!! Preper to wait at least an hour to be seen. I wanted to hit her when she kept adjusting the strap of her Gucci shoe while I was in the stir ups. Behaves like a total **** and I think all the publicity that she pays for is getting to her head. She is more focused on giving interviews to every Main line rag that would have her and genuinely listening to her patients. But no more, I finally transferred after 2 horrible visits. I suggest you find someone more compassionate than her.

:( Click to report rating    2/15/07 1 1 One of the worst experiences of my life. I left this office crying EVERY time. I first went in with bladder pain and she diagnosed overactive bladder. I was immediately convinced to go on a study for a new medication, I did this hoping I would receive better medical attention. After a week on the study I was not urinating frequently enough to qualify and the woman conducting the study acted almost angry about it. Afterwards they gave me an Overactive Bladder medication which stopped my urination and caused extreme pain. I could not get anyone from her office to call me back and the staff basically just told me to "Deal with it for now". I ended up having to go to the ER. Every time I went to this office it was about a 3-4 hour ordeal waiting. Once I was told to show up with a full bladder and they made me wait 1.5 hours with a full bladder before conducting the testing. WORST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. She and her office staff are horrific they don't explain anything

:| Click to report rating    11/30/05 1 1 Did a certain test on me and then wouldn't tell me it was anything other than the usual test when I had to to to the emergency room. When I went back to her office to complain about excrusiating pain she saw me in the hallway and shushed me and walked away as I was trying to talk to her about the awful pain.
