He has his moods so you must get to the point quickly with him.Is a very knowledgable Dr.He is very Pharmacutical though,not knowledgable on alternatives. does not offer advice on how to improve your condition on your own, without pills. I find that he needs to update knowledge to keep up with the new trends of alternate ways without pills for every condition. Is a very kind,caring,respected physician. Has connections with only the very best of specialists.Is a keeper.

I have been a patient of Dr. Barclay's for over 10 yrs now. I do find him very friendly but I also find him very reactive instead of proactive. I also find he likes to stick to the old school stuff and doesn't really use new technologies. He pretty much has the attitude of if you can live with it, do nothing. I have thought of leaving his office but can't find anyone better who will take new patients. And yes his staff are not very friendly and always rushed. And every time I go I wait atleast 30 mins if not more.

As a nurse working in the community I feel no other doctor can hold a candle to Dr. Barclay. He is thorough, competent, friendly and concerned. The only drawback is his horrible staff! Maybe with his new office move and the change of staff, things will be better

I have been going to Doctor Barclay since 1990 and have always found him and his staff are excellent with myself and kids. He always seem interested in what is going on with our lives as a whole. Even though we now live in Aldergrove, we still travel to Delta to see him. He is worth the extra time. I would want anyone else.

dr. barclay is awesome he was the first doctore i picked when i moved here back in 1991 and he has been my doctor every since, he is so caring and with all my babies i had and also he took my husband and step daughter as patients and my husband said he is caring and wonderful. i love his new office as well

The staff are kind & friendly & willing to answer our questions if only you would ask.Go the mile and give them a smile,a joke & recognition as multi-taskers for dr. barclay &dr.boxer.I)m always treated well by the girls and my blood pressure is always taken with no request.I ask questions and they answer as best they can.The toughest job on the planet is people pleasing.

I must say that Dr.Barclay is a great caregiver to myself and my whole extented family, he is extremely helpful and always willing to listen, he takes the time he needs to assess you. I do agree that that his staff is miserable and have also almost left for this reason but his care is just to good. I will be with him till he retires, which is hopefully not for a LONG TIME!!!!

I was a new patient of Dr. Barclay's when my husband and I went in and asked to have a specific test done for a very rare disease we suspected that I had. Barclay agreed with us, did the test and confirmed my husband's hunch. I was promptly hospitalized, stabilized and have been well monitored by him ever since. I do agree that his office staff are unfriendly to the extreme, not even bothering to make eye contact while I'm signing in - the exact opposite of Barclay. My last doctor's staff were fantastic and would call my home or cell if the doctor was running more than 15 minutes behind. That was so helpful as I could do an errand instead of waiting. She went into hospital care otherwise I would still be with her.

I find that Dr Braclay is a very knowledgabe doctor. He does tend to "answer he phone" when I am in his office though. I do find that rather unsettling as it happens quite a lot. I will say that he is very personable, caring and informative. He staff appear to be unhappy, and tend to demonstrate unfriendly and uncaring attitudes. I do not like to have to deal with them on the phone or in person.

Dr. Barclay has been my family physician for more than 27 years (first in Port Coquitlam and now in Delta). I have always found him to be very knowledgable. He is an excellent family doctor.

Dr. Barclay was a fantastic doctor. The only complaint I have is the wait to see him. Unless you book an appointment first thing in the morning or right after lunch, you could wait anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes!! I also agree that his office staff could use some training in the "friendly & helpful" department. I have since moved to Abbotsford and I am finding it very difficult to find another GP as personable as Dr. Barclay.

Best doctor I've ever been to, and he always makes you feel special, but I won't go there anymore because of the horrible HORRIBLE office staff. That is a shame.

My father was a patient of Dr. Barclay. He is a wonderful, kind and caring doctor. He went beyond the call of duty! He made looking after Dad much easier. I only wish we had more doctors like him

He has been my dr. for over 20 years and is always on top of things. He goes beyond the call of duty to give pesonalized care; answers questions I have via e-mail when I am out of the country. Takes all of my complaints seriously and follows up on all tests in a timely fashion. He actually listen to me...asks about my famiy members that have moved away.He moved to another part of Vancouver years ago...I had another dr. for 2 years and I finally decided that I would travel across the city to have him contiue to be my dr. since he is so good.After a serious car accident, I had a badly broken arm and had been released from the distant hospital, I called him to see if he wanted to see me; the receptionist talked to him immediately and then came back on the phone and asked if I could come in in two hours to be checked out! I had a thorough exam and he continued to follow me closely to make sure all was well.
