I have HIGH disregard for this Dr. I would sooner have my MAIL CARRIER take care of me during my next pregnancy. He was always late, I could NEVER understand him through his accent (normally I wouldn't mind so much but this was my FIRST pregnancy and I NEEDED to talk, ask questions, be heard-communication is key in this area of my life). I had group B strep and ALL this man would tell me is, 'it could make my baby very sick' when I pressed for a further explanation. I ended up getting him to write it down for me, looked it up online, asked my friends and my family MD for information. I should have been able to depend on my OBGYN for this. He also did not examine my stitches (or me) at my 6 week checkup - just asked how I was feeling. I AGAIN had to make an appt with my family MD to take care of this. I never felt comfortable that this man had ANY interest in me or my pregnancy. I told my family MD (who had referred me to him) that he was NOT an acceptable OBGYN.

I am sorry to hear others have had such negative experiences. I thank my lucky stars we were given Dr. Ojuawo! I was severely obese, have always had menstrual irregularity-my hubby & I went into the hospital full term with no knowledge we were pregnant, only to have to have an emerg c-section as I am apparently unable to birth naturally due to wrong shaped pelvis. He answered all our questions, had the BEST bedside manner I have ever encountered in a Dr, performed my surgery with Dr. Bashir flawlessly under an extremely stressful situation, and provided good follow up care. I recommend him to everyone, he literally saved our lives.

Dr. Ojuawo and his staff were very pleasant. I had to wait for one appt because the dr. was called away to the hospital but as soon as he got back he saw all his patients and my wait still wasn't as long as it usually is at my family dr. He also apologized for the delay, which was much appreciated.

He was able to answer every question I had, and clearly knows what he's talking about. He took over the last couple months of both my pregnancies. I even recommended him to my sister for her second baby. His wife/assistant is amazing! She remembers my name every time, and even remembered my first daughter's name when I brought her with me. My daughter colored a picture one time while she was there, and Dr. Ojuawo's wife put it up on the desk.

At first I found him to be very quick and not thourough, but eventually it was him who delivered my baby after 2 weeks of travelling to Saint John from Pennfield every day to be put on the fetal monitor and have the Prostin gel, which did absolutely nothing. The hospital jerked me around, setting up appointments for induction twice, then sending me home each time. When I finally was induced(exactly 2 weeks past due) I had a very long labour(22 hours) and there was absolutely no change. My cervix would not open and my water would not break and my baby would not come down into the birth canal. After about 10 - 15 doctors/interns "examined" me, Dr O came in at 8:30 AM, examined me and decided imediately that I should have a c-section as the baby was defaced, which is why she wouldn't move down. No other doc or intern had noticed this. He said my baby and I would have had a lot of trauma during the delivery. I am not saying he is perfect, but he was great for me,and very minimal scar.

Dr.Ojuawo is a very sensitive caring doctor. I would recomend him to my family& friends. Finding a good gynecologist is hard enough .. but to find an excellant gynecologist along with one you feel comfortable with I thought was impossible. Dr.Ojuawo is wonderful. I'm very thankful. I don't have any issues with him or his staff. All very caring. Thank-you Dr.Ojuawo. Jennifer.

Was referred by my family Dr. who praised him up for alternate options due to inability to take birth control due to high blood pressure. Dr. O gave me information fast and direct (which I didn't mind) but no real time to think. Wanted the answer right then and there about what my decision was. When I chose IUD, stopped talking and gave me a pamphlet to read. That was that. No real warning or indication of what was to come. When IUD was inserted, nothing happened the way the pamphlet said it would. Never told me to check insertion or how to check, and when I did according to book, nothing was the way they described it. Also had much pain and problems afterwards and couldn't get in to see him. Had to wait the 8 weeks post insertion. It's difficult enough for these things, but to be given the book by the Dr. then nothing happen the way that it's outlined in the book is difficult to deal with.

Extremely unhelpful with infertility issues, lack of concern, patience, knowledge, etc. Does not read your chart before your app. Total waste of time. Would not consider going to him again, even if it meant driving and hour + for appointments to see someone else. Infertility is extremely hard on someone and he makes you feel like you are doing something wrong, which may not be the case. Overall Bad experience.

Was my OB, I found the appts to be a waste of time. I was sent for a 32 week ultrasound, he asked ME at every appt if I had gone and what the tech had said. At my 40 wk appt I was told my blood pressure had been high "for awhile"- yet every week when he checked he said it was "good". I found my 6 week follow-up visit was a waste as well. He asked how I was feeling and gave me birth control pills. Did not ask about pp bleeding (I had hemorrhaged after giving birth), or check to be sure my stitches had healed. If I have another baby I will not go back to this Dr.

I think he is GREAT.. This is my 3rd baby with him. for my first I had another dr..and wasn't pleased with them through out but didn't relize it until I went to Dr.O. He has helped me out ALOT, he is very clear with making sure I understand what he is saying etc. He was very compationite for my husband and myself when there was something terribly wrong with our baby. And kept updated with me for months to come after delivering my baby. And now I am back with him again. and Love him!. His Staff are great as well.

I found Dr.Ojuawo a nice man..but not very helpful with my problems. He seemed to give me the same meds over & over again and when nothing was happening seemed to have no interest to investigate any further. It was my family doctor that finally referred me to a specialist when she found out Dr.O was doing nothing for me. For me it had nothing to do with language or cultural barriers...I understood him completely..I just don't care for him & decided to find another ob/gyn.

HOrrible experience, barely got any history from me and decided right away to give me a hysterectomy, i hemmeraged in 3 spots ((not one spot, 3)) and almost died because the surgery wasnt done carefully enough, i was rushed into surgery to get it fixed. Im now suffering chronic pain from the surgery and have adhesions, now i may have to have another surgery to correct the mistakes made!!THen he was not understanding what so ever and said that this happens sometimes, not supportive at all. DO NOT RECCOMEND!!

Dr. O is a doll! Love him to pieces, and that's why I've chosen him again to handle my second pregnancy. The only time he's ever been really late, was when he was called out of office for an emergency. He listens to all of your questions and answers them, doesn't watch the clock and rush you out of the door. His staff is amazing and welcoming. I would think that those whom have commented on his "accent" would have a better experience with him if they would not be so judge mental. There should be more doctors like him in Saint John.

Kept putting me off and had no intention of helping me out at all. Ended up getting extremely ill and another fabulous doctor did what he didn't want to do and I've not felt this good in a long time. He let me be sick and in pain over a span of 6 months and didn't listen to anything I said... absolutely wouldn't recommend him to anyone with problems. He just doesn't listen.

Oh my God I HATE this doctor. He is so rude and impatient. I could understand what he was saying but honestly, if the cultural issues allow him to be a total and complete ass, then he should be in his own country where the women are used to being promptly dismissed! It is ridiculous. I moved to Fredericton and found a different OB/GYN. On another note, his wife, who works at the clinic is truly wonderful! Go figure.

I have been going to Dr. Ojuawo for my first pregnancy and so far find him to be very professional and forthcoming with information. I have not felt rushed during appointments and he always asks if you have any questions for him. I suspect that many of the negative comments written about him on this site have something to do with cultural differences and patient ignorance as unfortunately for him he is working in a city of generally low socio-economic status with many patients of limited educational background. As far as comments about the way he speaks I think repremanding somebody for having a different accent than yourself is absurd and evidence of the limited cultural experience of this region.

I found Dr. Ojuawo to be very kind and helpful. He took a lot of time to explain his answers to my questions. If one listens carefully his accent is very easy to follow as he speaks very distinctly. His office staff is also very welcoming.

Both my husband and I found Dr. Ojuawo to be a very thorough, knowledgeable, and proficient OBGYN. Prior to being his patient, I had heard some negative comments about his care(which often happens as many people love to tell their exaggerated stories). I honestly believe much of this is due to ignorance and some cultural differences. The care Dr. Ojuawo and his amazing staff gave to me with my first pregancy was second to none. At every appointment and stage of the pregnancy he was thorough and extremely caring. He referred me as necessary in a timely manner, went out of his way when complications arose, and I never felt rushed when in his treatment rooms. I look forward to seeing this wonderful doctor again with (hopefully) our second child.

I met this doctor 2 and a half years ago two weeks after I had a baby. I was admitted into the hospital after passing blood clots the size of apples. His inter had suggested to do an ultrasound to see why I was bleeding. HE said he wanted to wait.He also wanted to wait to do a d&c to stop the bleeding. The bleeding continued for 3 days. After supper on the third day Dr.Sanderson was on call. He came in after being paged becuase of the size of the clots I was having. He took one look at me and called the OR right away for an emergency D&c. Dr.O did nothing to help me so thanks dr.sanderson

he's not always punctual but hey, everyone wants their babe delivered by their own OB so the rest of us wait, as it should be. he was thorough, prefers minimally invasive procedures first but will use what is necessary for the best outcome. as for his accent,i've been trying to understand french dr.s with little command of the english language for years, so whats the difference. i think that at times Dr. O may come across as standoffish but i think this is a cultural thing, not personality.

I was referred to him after Dr. Isa retired. He didn't know my history, could have checked my chart, called me a liar because Dr. Isa was missing something in my chart that we clearly discussed about me having High Grade Cancer cells and repeatedly himself in a very condescending way. No sensitivity to such devastating life issues (abnormal cells repeatedly for years which led to a leap biopsy etc...). Last time I was there, he said I was fine and could go back to my family doc. GOOD!!! I know I'll have the ASCUS cells again and I will refuse to go back to him.

Ojawa is horrible. For my second child I will refuse him. His appointments are A complete waste as you can't undersatnd a word he says. He tells you all these problems that arn't true because he doesn't know. Even worse, you can't understand a word he says. When it comes to having a baby you like to know what's happening. If I was going to an appointment with him I would take language translation book!!!

All I have to say is THANK GOD for Dr.Sheppherd because he is the man who saved my life. Dr.Ojawa did absolutely NOTHING as far as I am concerened. I ended up going to the hospital on my own at 38 weeks with my blood pressure 185/115 and my urine full of protein. I was immedietly induced. About 30 mins after delivering my BP skyrocketed. I had a seziure and almost died. All the nurses and doctors that I saw in the hospital said I should have been on blood pressure meds. My pressure was high throught the whole pregnancy and he did nothing about it.

I found this doctor to be very thorough with the procedures that he performed on me.I eventually ended up having a hysterectomy also done by him. I think he did a very good job with my operation and he was in to check on me every day that I was in the hospital. If it wasn't for him, I may not be sitting here typing this letter today.

I tried for 5 years to get pregnant, when we finally did I was sent to this Dr. According to my ultrasound my due date was Sept. 25...in mid August he said the baby wasn't as big as it should be and is measuring 2 weeks small, so he changed my date to Oct 11, without any research. My water broke on October 2, when I delivered my baby she was already an estimated 2 weeks over-due and had a knot in her cord..very lucky my water broke and I did not have to go until a week after the 11 to have the baby, she may not have been as healthy as she is today!

Very early Monday morning my water broke surprisingly at the hospital at the 24th week of pregnancy. Within minutes Dr Ojawa was there getting everyone in place and explaining to me what they were going to do as they (acutally did it) delivered my very little son. I felt very confident even with the stressful circumstances of having to deliver naturally and breach for something I was totally unprepared for.
