10/03/14 3 3 5 5 Rebuilt my crushed foot 12 years ago, recovered far better than predicted. My recent knee injury was not repairable, but thats not his fault. 100% professional, great explanations of complex medical terms, great "bedside manner". His staff is friendly but overworked, very difficult to schedule anything (might just be a problem with VIHA/BCMed) My knee surgery was considered "urgent" and there was still a 2 month wait with cancellations.

16/12/13 3 5 5 5 Dr Cameron was referred by my family. He has replaced both my mothers hips and done resurfacing on both her knees with great results and he has done my Dad's knees resurfacing and fixed his shoulder and massively broken leg from a ski accident. Dad at 71 is on the slopes the season after his break and loving life outdoors still. I needed Dr Cameron the help me with chronic pain and knee swelling. MRI's were inconclusive and the UBC sports guys said just keep exercising and strengthening. "I can keep exercising, it hurts so much It makes me sick". Cameron looked and examined and promised very little other than to try and help. Well...help he did. Bone growths removed, loose pieces removed and no more pain, clicking, locking, popping and snapping. I will ski and ride my mountain bike again this year thanks to Dr Cameron!! He is straight forward and takes his profession very, well, "professionally".

15/06/12 4 4 5 5 Great bedside manner, knowledgeable and (as far as I know - I was anesthetized) a good surgeon. I was playing tennis 2 week post arthroscopy. As well - he was honest about my bad knee, but gave me hope ("a significant minority of people like you do well, in spite of the damage").  Respond

19/12/10 5 4 5 5 Dr.Cameron is my hero. He saved my husband's life on Christmas eve. If no surgery that night my husband would have died. A blood infection that resulted in massive pus build up in his foot and shoulder was re-leaved. He could have removed my husband's foot that night but decided to wait and see. Two more surgeries were done over Christmas week resulting in only his big toe being removed instead of his whole foot. In addition to saving my husband's life he saved his foot too!!! He was very professional, very knowledgeable and truly cared. He went home to his family way past midnight missing Christmas eve and came back first thing Christmas morning. This man and his team guided my husband to a full recovery(6 weeks in hospital)and for that I will be forever grateful. He worked tirelessly and really cared and I truly think he is a special Doctor deserving great respect.  Respond

18/06/10 3 2 5 4 Great demeanor, very knowledgeable, if I ever need an orthopedist in the future I will request Dr. Cameron. One of the things I liked best was that he LISTENED!! It would be nice if more doctors actually listened to their patients. If you have an appointment be prepared to wait, he doesn't run on time, but worth the wait.  Respond

09/01/10 5 4 5 5 nice man operated on me a number of times to keep me walking. Did a knee replacement and it stood up may times to the punishment I put it through. I have told everyone about him and a movie star to boot. Takes no crap and tells it like it is, plain and simple. He does get the job done but it may take a while.  Respond

27/06/09 1 1 5 5 I think he is excellent. He fixed my ankle. I waited all day in ER and he came to check on me many times. He encouraged me to try to walk without a limp. I have had no problems since. I found him personable and compassionate.  Respond

08/10/08 3 5 1 4 I was diagnosed with 'frozen shoulder',which is probably true except that I also have constant extreme lateral pain midway down my arm that has been there since the fall four mo. ago. A GP has also suggested frozen shoulder and arranged the appointment with Dr. Cameron. I brought two sets of x-rays and ultrasound info to the appointment. I don't think he looked at the info in the envelope as he asked two or three times of a student doing practical if there were x-rays or anything. I told him I had been told the ultrasound showed an injured tendon. He said ultrasounds were often wrong. He also said physotherapy was a waste of time and money. He sent me home saying 6 months to 2 years recovery and to take anti-inflammatory drugs. I am extremely confused as to why ultasounds are done if they are so unreliable. On a positive note, he was very friendly and gave my arm and shoulder what seemed a thorough physical checking.  Respond

06/12/07 3 2 2 1 My husband had surgery 6 yrs ago and while in the operating room the doctor did not even look at his chart and the result was my husband had the wrong knee cut open and looked at before the doctor realized his error and proceeded to operate on the correct knee. upon surgery being complete the doctor came to tell me that there had been an error. after two hours of waiting, he did not come back and provide me with the information i had requested which entailed the names of those staff in the operating room at the time of the error. During follow up appts he did apologize once and said there was an error and that the nurse felt mortified. to this date we never did receive any response to our enquiries until we sent a detailed letter to the chemainus hospital asking what steps were being taken to ensure this type of error would not happen again. two years later we received a response. not once did we threaten a lawsuit nor did we follow up with one. i would not recommend him.  Respond

29/03/07 5 5 5 I was refered to Dr Cameron after a doctor in Victoria did a knee replacement. Another doctor in Duncan said there was something wrong with it but he could do nothing with surgery to fix it. I lived in agony for six years until I was told to see Dr Cameron. He checked it all out and told me it need surgery. He did another Knee replacement. later he replaced my left hip and my right knee. End of problem I have had no troubles with them since. He is one of the best doctors I have ever had. He is kind, considerate, friendly and really knows what he is doing  Respond
