Do you want to have a doctor who is not courteous and always late on appointments, who doesnt know the meaning of appointment time, I agree we need to adjust for 30 minutes but not for hours and hours without even explaining the reasons for delay.Staff doenst know when the Doctors is going to be IN.
Do you want to have a doctor who doest know they have prescribed some medications and dont remember it after looking at your report?
Do you want to wait for 1 hour minimum to talk to a unresponsive blank faced doctor?
Do you want to be calling continuously to get hold of their staff for information?
Do you want to be kept waiting for hours on phone to get hold of a Nurse/Staff
Do you want to talk a doctor without a Answering machine?
Do you NOT want a doctor who is available to you incase you need to reach her?
Dont go to her, please think over....

I was considering leaving her before my pregnancy but stayed because it was convenient. Now that I've had my baby I'm definitely leaving. She didn't explain anything about the pregnancy and made you feel stupid for asking questions (it was my first). She was so awful during delivery and afterwards. None of the nurses at the hospital liked her and recommended doctors with a better bedside manor.

I went to Dr. Varma in Feb 2009 for irregular periods. Somehow (I don't know how), she ruled out endometriosis and PCOS. My husband and I wanted to start our family, and knew it would be difficult with my extremely irregular periods. She told me to keep trying and come back in May. I went back in May, after actively trying to conceive. She wanted to jump straight into fertility treatments without even diagnosing the cause of my irregular periods. I hesitated. I went to a fertility specialist Aug 2009, and it was the best decision of my life. Within 2 minutes, I was diagnosed with PCOS, and I then began treatments to resolve my irregular periods, which was caused by the PCOS. So, basically, Dr. Varma wasted 5 months of my life. Her staff is VERY RUDE. Avoid.

In addition to the staff rudeness and incompetence and other complaints listed here about Dr. Varma herself (lack of bedside manner, attitude, being given the brush off), I have infertility issues and she has said TWICE "You should have had children earlier, you must feel a lot of guilt". Whatever way she intended it, it is obviously not comforting at all and extremely difficult to hear for someone who has been facing these issues for 5 years and only in their 30's. AVOID.

First visit after recommendation from primary care. She's rude, condescending and comes with a massive attitude and ego problem. I wished I checked this site before wasting my time seeing her. All information had to be prodded from her. She seemed like she had more important things to do than sit and talk with me. When the topic of diet came up, she was outright rude and made assumptions of me that a first grader would not have. She never even asked who referred me to her. To those that defend her by saying she is too busy or exhausted, maybe she should stop taking patients if she can not handle them. Courtesy and bedside manner are not costly traits. No hand shake, no hello, no eye contact, no effort, no real checkup that my primary care had not already done. If this is your idea of a great, knowledgeable OB/GYN that provides "compassionate, personalized & unparalled care", make sure you reserve yourself an appointment for this joke.

She was our first GYN for my wife's pregnancy. We got Dr. Varma's reference from our regular physician and Varma was good in talking and knowledgeable. She gives lots of boost and confidence to the patients. She talks less but answers all the doubts we have. We are satisfied by her treatment...but unfortunately we have to leave her before my wife's delivery due to change in my job location.

This is a place to avoid. I delieved my 2nd child there and the turn over of docs and uneducated staff made it unbearable. She is extremely unfriendly, cold and unwelcoming. I have yet to visit when we havent spent at least an hour plus just waiting to get into a room, then to spend another hour waiting. And there are no aplolgises for delays? Its very poor service and unfriendly staff. Dr varma never talks to you or wants to have any unnessassary conversation. We will NEVER go back or recommend her to anyone. She isnt a great people person. When your pregnant you want someone who listens and gives you a good feeling...she isnt your doc!!

She delivered our first child in 2006. At that time, my husband and I felt that her practice was first-rate. Now, she is always rushed, tries to brush off questions and is constantly trying to pass the buck on providing care and answering questions by simply saying, "go see this specialist". My blood work has been botched several times, the staff is rude and constantly ready to pick a fight. They have consistently failed to call us after the reports are in, even after several reminders. They are more focussed now on maximizing profits. AVOID THEM.

Dr. Varma delivered my first and most likely only child. It was a high-risk pregnancy and she pulled out all the stops, sending me for all the tests that seemed appropriate based on my own research, as well as to a high-risk specialist. It is true that she often seems exhausted, but I've always felt that this was because she was so dedicated to her patients who were in labor or having emergencies. I have never felt that she rushed an appointment, and will answer as many questions as I ask. I'll take that any day over the condescending doctor that tells you how it is and shuts you down if you want more info. We all have to take some ownership in our own care, I think, and if you subscribe to that, then she's a good fit for you.

This is truley the worst Dr. I have ever seen. I am a health care provider myself and could never imagine treating a patient of mine in this manner. I had blood work done and was told to call the automated service for my test results. The messsage said to call the office and scheduale an appt to discuss my blood test results. I was very worried and called to speak to the Dr. The response from her nurse, who is extremely rude by the way, was that the Dr. does not discuss results over the phone. When I asked if anything came back abnormal, she answered me yes and that's the reason they wanted me to come in. They could not accomadate me till the end of the week. I was a nervous wreck. When I finally went in for the results, The Dr nor the nurse had a clue as to why I was there!!! To make a long story short, my test results were all normal. I gave Dr. Varma a piece of my mind, and asked for a copy of my records. No treatment options were ever discussed, only extra proceedures that are billable to ins.

I would highly caution going to Dr. Varma. I visited her for a routine pap, and when the pap came back negative, she suggested a hysterectomy. At the time, I was a 32, newly married with no kids. She was very curt, unsympathetic and did not provide much information. Although she performed my LEEP, I followed up with another GYN. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE.

She is down right rude, arrogant and cold. It was my first pregnancy so I had many questions. But she did not seem to have the time or interest to answer them to my satisfaction. She got irritated with me because i did not fall in for her "planned c-section" advise she gave me. During my 9th month she simply said "you have put on a lot of weight and I think you said have a planned c-section" and then she left the room!!! Dr Tabibi was the opposite :) She was nice and pleasant and I was very comfortable with her.

We saw Dr. Varma throughout our pregnancy and had a very positive experience. I can't compare her to other doctors since she is the only one we have seen. It's interesting that others here describe her as being cold. It is a matter of perspective. I will say that she answered all of our questions to our satisfaction, and we had many throughout the pregnancy. During the delivery, she was outstanding! If I remember correctly, she is a football coach. And her ability to motivate and keep you focused when you're getting tired after 12 hour of being in labor is great. I found it odd that others described that all she wants to do is a caesarean. When we got tired and said just do a caesarean, she said no way - you're almost there. Just push! You have to push! Come on, you can do it! Again, she is the only OB/GYN that we have seen. But we were very happy with her. Unless something has changed in the last two years, we don't see any reason to go to anyone else in the area.

Used this site and now have switched to a new practice and although further away I am much happier with the new, much more knowledgeable staff and dr.

Our experience with doctor was really pathetic. They messed our gestation diabetes reports and as a result we informed wrong results ..which resulted in wrong diet and could have caused disaster for us. Luckily we found out. Also this doctor wants to make money on C-Section, she wont talk to you ever and will only respond once her C-Section money claim is paid. We were stcuk with this doctor but we really recommedn to avoid this doctor at any cost

Dr. Varma is a very good and very experiend doctor. She is very knowledgable and very friendly person and sweet to me. But sometimes when she comes back after delivering the baby she just looks tired and exhausted. i think that is normal for any doctor who had a very busy day. For most of my appointments, i didn't need to wait for longer time. But sometimes if doctor would have gone to deliver a baby and if there are complications, then they make me wait for 30 to 45 min, which i think is very normal as person who has complications is any doctor's priority. She answers all my Questions and asks me if i have any questions and then answer them also. I have been going to her from past 3 years for my regular checkups. I recommend her to all my friends and relatives.

This doctor is way worse that AWFUL. I went to her for a routine 1st appoinment with my second pregnancy. The pregnancy turned out to be abnormal. She didn't tell us anything but sent me for an ultra sound and her nurse told us we could come back and talk after we get the results of the ultra sound. We came back and after making us wait for 30 minutes, she came in to say "I just came back from a c-section and I'm getting ready to go to another. I have no new information for you". She was unimaginably rude to us, didn't care to explain at all what the issue was, causes, what to expect, or what the next steps were, nothing. When we coaxed her to let us know what to do next she said, you need a D&C. It's been over a week and I'm still waiting for her staff to return my numerous calls to get a D&C scheduled. She blew away my world and we got not an iota of empathy from her. She is the worst doctor possible. I don't know how she runs her practice. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.

I chose to visit Dr Supriya Varma after thorugh discussion with friends, family and internet research. My first pregnancy was a high-risk pregnancy and the second pregnancy, which I was planning at the time I chose Dr.Varma, needed a doctor who was very knowledgable, careful and could make decisions confidently. Dr. Varma fitted the bill. She handled my second pregnancy very well. I was on a high-risk pregnancy with my second child, and I used to visit her almost every other week for regular check-ups. She referred me to a high-risk doctor promptly, gave me advance infomration about changes she was planning to make on managing my condition etc. She is a very nice lady and one of the busiest doctors in town (there must be some reason for it folks!) In all, I am really happy I chose Dr.Varma. After all, if it comes to the health of your child and your own self, what would you choose - a good bedside manner or competency???

I have been seeing Dr. Varma for many years. I did not know I would end up having 2 additional children close to my 40's and she was amazing. I have watched through many stressful years attempting to find the perfect doctor to bring to the practice and she was so happy when she chose Dr. T. who as well brought a beautiful beside manner and freshness to the center that needed it. It as well assisted and allowed Dr. Varma to get some rest and spend more time with patients as she loves to do. She will go out of her way to do so, I know this because of my multiple emergencies I have had and then of course our worries we have had. Dr. Varma will if you ask her answer questions - but if she thinks you know what you are doing - she will let you be. She will leave you alone until you ask her to hold your hand. She is matter of fact, and that why she is such a great doctor. I might not have appreciated hearing everything - but I respected her word at the end of the appointment.

Dr. Varma seems like a very nice person and extremely knowledgable about her work. I think she rushes through appointments sometimes because she is so busy and I think the "coldness" other people perceive from her is just from the fact that she's exhausted a lot of the time. I saw Dr. Tabibi for my last baby who was wonderful but she left the practice to move closer to her home. I don't think I will leave Dr. Varma's practice though because I think they are thorough and careful with their patients. I think Dr. Varma is a lovely person that I would love to see sometime when she wasn't feeling rushed or so tired. I'll wait it out for a few more visits with her and the new doctor in their practice to see how my relationship grows with her. Overall, I think she is a very good doctor and a nice lady.

Dr. Varma is an extremely knowledgable OB/GYN. She is a precise. She stayed with me all throughout my 17 hours of labor...patiently. She was just as wonderful the second time around. She has never missed an appointment. She is warm and friendly...I feel lucky to have found her.

One of the most unprofessional and rude doctors I have ever visited. This is my first pregnancy and she didn't tell me anything including the due date. Gave me some multi-vitamin prescriptions but didn't bother to tell me how to take them. She had a big attitude and a very unfriendly behavior. Now I have to look for a new doctor, as I wouldn't like to deliverer my baby with such an unfriendly doctor.

Dr. Varma is a very nice doctor and gives 100% attention to your needs. She is a younger doctor and seems more hip to new technology unlike some older doctors can be.
