I just had cataract surgery this morning. Dr. Faber is smart, kind, and very efficient .He has been great from the beginning consultation to the surgery itself. A quick light hand. Thanks to him I can see again.

Inattentive and sensitive. Rushed appointment. Waited almost an hour. He was upset when I told him i could not see with my new glasses. He questioned me and made me very uncomfortable.I am going to find a new doctor.

Always late, unattentive, factory type push-em-through approach. Probably knows his stuff but poor on the personal, human qualities, office setting.

an absolutely horrible doctor. I went for a routine cataract op. and he put in the wrong lens. Two weeks later he had to remove that lens and in doing so he tore my eye which caused a leak. The eye did not get better as he said it would and he had to do a third surgery which did nothing at all. Dr. Faber didn't think it was too bad but i went to a more respected opthomologist and he said I need immediate surgery to repair the damage. FABER SEES TOO MANY PATIENTS AND THEREFORE DOES NOT GIVE ENOUGH TIME OR PROPER CARE.

The wait time to see him is ridiculous and unnecessary. If I charged him my rates for the wait time I waste for an appointment he would owe me for the visit. He is always rushing through the checkup, doesn't give you any information on what is going on. I have never been given any up to date eye tests. I got a new prescription for glasses and it took me three visits to get it right and was made to feel like it was all my fault for not being able to see properly, you add up the wait time for those trips. Have found a new doctor that actually works for his money, doesn't make you feel like your on an assembly line and treats you like a human being.

I did not mind the wait, 'cause I was a fit in as an emergency (other doctors were giving me an appointment 3 months later for same problem) and he did manage to solve the problem with my eyes.

rush, rush, rush, he'll give you a bad prescription, tell you you need cataract surgery to see and send you on your way. As it turns out, I don't even have cataracts. Best see someone else.

A knowledgeable French doctor. Well, too much on the money side! Based on his busy and long schedule, no surprise to make over 10 grand a day! No kidding! Highest-paid doctor in BC medical Blue Page for many years! You can check it yourself.

Seems very up to date and informed. Nice man. Waiting time is unacceptable. Hour or more each time. Time with him limited. Anyone this bright should be able to figure out a way to schedule better.

Worst doctor I have ever had. I saw him 3 times. First, you wait for ages in a shabby waiting room with insufficient seating. He rushes you through the exam, wheeling around on his office chair like a demon at a race, barely answering questions, and then grudgingly. He sent me for a procedure that he did not properly explain (I should not have driven to it, for one thing), which was probably just a CYA in any case. While I was waiting for my appointment, he yelled on the phone at a patient who had called to cancel their surgery. When I complained about my own treatment, he was extremely cavalier...then downright rude. He gave me contact lenses that did not fit.

Dr. Faber is an excellent doctor. He may not explain things to you because he doesn't want to scare you. I had an ulcerated eye and I could of lost the sight in my eye. However, he only informed me of this, after having successful treatment. I was thankful for him not telling me the details because I would of been more stressed. Expect to wait in his waiting room, because he has a lot of patients to see. I would say he is well worth the wait.

I have been a patient of Dr Faber's since the 80s and I have never been unhappy. He has taken good care of me, his staff are also very good. I have recommended him to too many people - that's why the waiting room is always full!

I waited a long time to see him and the waiting room was extremely full. When I did see him he spent very little time with me, and I felt very rushed. I felt as though I was imposing on him (although he is being paid to see me) It was not a good experience.

I felt very rushed through my appontments and that I wasn't being listened to. Waited one and a half hours to see him, it seemed that the waiting room was full of people who all had the same appointment time?

Went to Dr. Faber years ago and also went away with ill fitting contacts. Wouldn't see me again until I had worn them a couple weeks. Had to go to another doctor to have another pair made that fitted properly. Not a good experience.

Fitted me with contacts and I had to go see another opthamologist because I developed a lump in my eye. I likened his practice to a cattle call - the waiting room was filled to capacity and he seemed never to spend more than 5 minutes with any patient. His front desk staff really pushed the selling of contact lenses which I viewed as a conflict of interest.

I had to visit him for an infection, and he just cut me open without any warning. I really didn't appreciate it and if I had a choice, I would seek someone else. The only reason I was referred to him was because the other eye doc was too busy.

For Dr. faber, you have to wait hours before you see him then you get to see him for a very rushed appointment of about two to four minutes, maximum. He does not give you time to even explain your problem. The waiting area is crowded.

My typical visits began with a 10 minute line up at the desk to report in, followed by an hour and a half wait (with the hours they keep, this usually means a half-day away from work) in a cold waiting room (mostly populated by elderly people who may be more susceptible to the cold than I). When you do get in, the visits are rushed to the point of absurdity-sometimes only lasting one minute where he would declare that my problem seemed to be greatly improved, when in fact it was not. He checked my vision in about 2 minutes and reported to my GP that I had 20/20 vision-an exam by a competent doctor afterwards determined that in one eye I was 20/30 with astigmatism. After having to endure countless of these visits before I could convince him to take some concrete action, he performed an in-house procedure. During the procedure I was upright in a chair, when I was left unattended afterwards I nearly passed-out from a reaction to the anaesthesia. My calls for assistance went unattended.

Excellent care. So what if you wait a while. Exceellent and current magazines in surgery. Quality and timely care is much more important. Had catarat surgery with Dr. Faber. no problems. Pierre cares, need I say more. He was alert enough to spot an earlier (20 year old) issue I had forgotten, and rectify it surgically and no pain, before I could say, " I don't like the idea of surgery on my eye". Will, and do, recommend. Ian Birtwell
