:( Click to report rating *  3/2/09 4 1 1 Told me Zopiclone was "non addictive" also perscribed me 4 different kinds of SSRI's, before referring me to a psychiatrist who determined I was not a candadit for SSRI's. I found her very over booked, 3+ hour wait in the waiting room, lost forms I needed filled out for work, and just wrote scripts before seeing what was wrong. Her secretary Kathy is on the ball, so I guess she is lucky she has her. I think if she took less patients she would be better, but NB health care is screwed up anyway.

:) Click to report rating    1/21/08 5 2 3 Have been going to her for apprx. 3 years now. My concern is that she could make the decision/prescribe necessary meds but refers to a specialist instead. Then we waits so long, and now very ill by the time we get in to specialist only to be told that GP should have given the med in the first place and we woudln't have been so sick. She is one of the few that will listen and take the complaint seriously enough to have it looked in to, I would just prefer it if she looked in to it herself and saved us valuable time and effort. Many times appt. has been re-scheduled on her part and it's nearly impossible to get through to confirm or deny the re-scheduled appt time left on your answering machine.

:) Click to report rating    9/20/07 5 3 5 I think Mary is a great doctor and a very easy person to talk to. She is also very kind and gentle with pediatric patients as I have observed when she cares for my daughter...it isn't every doctor who can have a baby smiling a minute after they have given them a needle! I admit it is difficult to get through the phone line to book an appointment but that is the case with pretty much any GP right now who is trying to pull a significant case load to ease the shortage of physicians in the province.

:| Click to report rating    8/27/07 1 2 2 It takes me days and days for me to actually get through to this dr. as the phone is always busy. Quick to refer to a specialist which anyone can do. Wait to see specialist as most know can be months so everyones out in limbo. Dropped the ball on several occasions even when surgery was needed quickly. Have to be after receptionist at all times. Assigned Dr. two years ago and sadly can't look for another. Health care in this province looking pretty drab!!

:) Click to report rating    6/15/07 5 5 Being without a doctor for a long time I'm so happy that Dr. Jarratt took me as a patient. I've become so fond of her . I've just found out how serious my health is and said to her I'm so glad to have you to talk to about this, she's like someone I've always known.

:) Click to report rating    5/19/07 1 5 It is extremely hard to get through to her office by phone. I normally have to drive across the city to make an appt. However she can normally fit you in within a day or two if necessary. She does run behind quite often but her bedside manner makes up for the wait. She takes her time, and asks a lot of questions. She takes as long as you need, and never rushes through your appointment. She is very through, and is not scared to refer you to another Dr to find out more about your condition. I don't find her to be a pill pusher...a big change from my last Dr. Paper work is a bit slow, and you have to remind her several times.

:) Click to report rating    4/24/07 1 5 She is a very caring and compassionate Docotr who takes time for just you, when you are there and you never feel rushed. She is the best doctor I have ever had! Though her waiting period is too long and paperwork needing completion to send in takes too long to get filled out, I still wouldn't go to anyone else. She's worth the office wait and stress of paperwork delays.

:) Click to report rating    4/6/07 5 5 Mary Jarratt is totally awesome!! She does not fool around, if unsure she sends you elsewhere to get the answers. Sometimes you have to wait, but that is because she takes the times needed with each patient, and that is a good thing. Every patient that walks through her door has a different need. Some may only take a dew minutes and others take longer. Her secretary Kathy is also very good. She will listen and if you have an urgent concern, she will do her best to get you in to see the Dr. right away. She is always friendly and helpful. I hopt they are both around for a long time!!

:( Click to report rating    3/29/07 1 1 every appointment wait was between 1-4 hours in the waiting room, and she overlooked a serious problem with my pregnancy because she was to careless to look at the ultrasound. Then when we confronted her after the defect was found by another doctor..she blamed everyone but herself, she took no responsibilty and did not apologize. Needless to say we switched family doctors. My mother sees her aswell; she needed important medical papers filled and faxed urgently, Dr. Jarrett said she would do it that evening. A couple weeks later mom didnt get her disability check and when she called they told her they never recieved the papers. She called jarrett and they were not filled out yet, she had to remind her a couple more times before it was eventually done.

:) Click to report rating    3/21/07 5 5 I have been seeing Dr. Jarratt now for over 20 yrs. Saint John certainly made a great choice with her!!! Their gain is certainly Fredericton's loss!! Very astute and caring woman and Doctor. I can call for an appt. and get in pretty well when I need her. Kathy is a wonderful new addition to her team!!! I followed her from F'ton, I wouldn't have it any other way!!! The trip is worth it. What's a 45 min. drive?? Great team!!!!

I've only seen her a few times, but she does know what she is doing, and Cathy is such a sweet lady, they are a good team together. No complaints from me!!! :o)

:) Click to report rating    3/13/07 3 5 She is wonderful. After having a male doctor who thought all females were either overly dramatic or over weight (Dr Mike Simon) she is truly appreciated. Fredericton's lose was our gain.

:) Click to report rating    3/13/07 4 5 I couldn't be happier with Dr Jarrat. Both my husband and I have her as our family doctor. She's very dedicated & always available to address more than 1 issues per visit. Cathy, the receptionist, is also very nice & welcoming.

:| Click to report rating    2/28/07 2 3 Not sure how i feel about this doctor completely. On several occasions my husband's appointments had to be rescheduled...even the rescheduled appointments were rescheduled. And when he finally got in there to see her about pain in his shoulders he had been having for quite some time she asked him if he could live with it?! If he could have, would he have been there? Also, on one occasion my daughter was scheduled to be one of the first appointments just to get a prescription refilled. I was assured it would only take a few minutes and was concerned because we had another appointment an hour later. It took so long that we were late for our other appointment. Neither of them ever received any memorable advice/care and have since found another much caring/helpful doctor.

:) Click to report rating    2/19/07 5 5 She is the absolute best! She is kind, caring and very compassionate. I feel like I can tell her anything because she doesn't have a judgmental bone in her body. She is always pleasant and has a very soothing personality. I love the fact that she isn't one of those doctors who has you running for blood tests, xrays, and other tests every time you see her. As someone already stated, Cathy is the greatest. She will always manage to get you in when it is urgent in nature. She is helpful and just a sweetheart.I am very fortunate to have Dr. Jarratt and Cathy just makes it a wonderful bonus. I hope that neither of them go elsewhere!

:) Click to report rating    2/5/07 4 5 Dr. Jarratt is an amazing Doctor. As you all know, our doctor situation in Atlantic Canada is not the best so when you finally get a Doctor - you cross your fingers and hope you get a good one. I am happy to say that Dr. Jarratt is attentive, resourceful, caring and very knowledgeable. Also, her receptionist is always able to help. I am thrilled to call her my family physician. Saint John is quite fortunate to have her as a family doctor. She is without a doubt a doctor I would recommend to anyone. Thank-you Dr. Jarratt.
