:( Click to report rating    1/20/10 1 3 1 What a horrible experience! The dr took one look at my 15 month old daughter and told me it was eczema. He didn't ask any questions or review her history. He told his medical assistant what prescriptions to write and then left. I was able to ask two questions as he stood at the door with one foot out. After the dr left, the medical assistant put on a video and I was told "this will answer all of your questions." After I relized that it was an 18 minute video, I left. As I was walking out, the assistant told me that he had my prescriptions. I told him that I did not want them, that I would be seeing someone else. I called the office later that afternoon to request my copayment refunded, and was told by the "office manager" (after she consulted with the dr) that "it would be illegal to refund my co-payment after I had been seen." Then she informed me that she put my prescriptions in the mail to me?! The dr was a JERK. STAY AWAY FROM HIM! YOU DESERVE BETTER HEALTHCARE!!

:( Click to report rating    1/20/10 1 1 1 Waited 1.5 hrs, he spent less than 5 min with my twins, had his nurse put medication on my sons toe, charged my insurance over $600, was rude to me about the way I had tied my sons paper gown over him for a trip down the hall to the restroom, of all ridiculous things. By far, the worst experience I ever had with a Dr. Will not go back. Will tell everyone I know what a creep this guy is.

:( Click to report rating    9/24/09 1 1 2 Dr. Bloom saw my daughter for acne. He was 1 hour and 15 late! He came rushing into the room out of breath as if he was running. He did not even introduce himself or say hello. No wonder we could get in to see him one week after we called. He over schedules his appointments. I timed him with my cell phone and he was with us for 6 minutes. When I asked him questions, he just kept going on with what he wanted to say. He was very rude. He recomended 4 different products for my daughter that ended up costing us $150.00. That was just our co-pay!!! He must be trying to set a record of how many patients he sees. No matter if my daughter has her acne go away or not, we will not ever go to him again because of his rude behavior.

:( Click to report rating    7/24/09 4 3 1 Dr. Bloom strolled in the room without as much as hello, spent three minutes for our first (and definetely last!!) consultation. Made rude, abrupt, and disrespectful comments. Never explained his rationale for prescribing medications. Prescribed antibiotics with absolutely no signs of infection. What a waste of time and money!

:( Click to report rating    6/19/09 3 3 1 More concerned with doing research and racking up $$$ with needless visits than helping me with my problem. Highly unrecommended.

:( Click to report rating    9/30/08 2 1 1 When I saw this dr. on this site I almost got sick to my stomach, In 1996 my son was 2 years old and this dr. literally cut a wart out of the top of his finger. My son screamed the entire time. I wasn't warned he'd be operating on him. To this day he has a deformed finger. I should have sued Dr. Kenneth Bloom. He was actually referred to my by a neighbor who was a pediatrician at HCMC. This guys a quack. Why is he still practicing?

:| Click to report rating    9/29/08 2 3 3 Horrible doctor. He's a creep. He looked at me weird like he was checking me out during a physical exam, made me wear a gown just to show him one area. STAY AWAY ICK!

:| Click to report rating    11/26/07 4 2 3 It's so funny that I ran across this site and Dr. Bloom's name! I took my son to see him in 1994. What a cold doc! I waited 45 mins to see him and when he finally showed up the first thing out of his mouth was "I wont see him without you changing his diaper, he stinks" No social skills whatsoever!

:| Click to report rating    9/17/07 3 3 2 We were warned by our Pediatrician and Ped Oncologist that he was "different". They were right. He was rude and disrespectful. I countered with aggressiveness I don't usually need when dealing with docs but it got his attention (and I think a tiny bit of respect) for a moment. His ability to apply knowledge to our rare disease situation was negligible. I knew more about the disease than him and knew more about it's treatments. Our second visit resulted in a list of recommendations (it was like pulling teeth to get any details out of him) which our Ped Oncologist and we completely rejected. There are other Derms in the Twin Cities that see kids. Dr. Jennifer Lee at Derm Spec PA is one of them. Do yourself a favor and start with her. It's perplexing to me that a doctor can demonstrate such unprofessional behavior.

:( Click to report rating    6/6/07 1 1 I've heard that Dr. Bloom had no people skills and this confirmed it when I took my 7mo daughter in. He did NOT bother to knock on the door and just barged right in when I was nursing my daughter after a 30min wait, of course she was restless! What else, the walls and doors were posted with notice for patients to be on time and limit questions, while the Dr. himself was running late and had no time for questions to be answered. Beware of the privacy notice that patients are responsible for lab tests charges. I wished that the clinic would have told me about the labs they used to give me a chance to call ahead to see if my insurance would cover it. I had to pay $100. A list of labs in the privacy notice would be helpful for patients to check ahead with their insurance. I will take my daughter to another dermatologist who would have time for questions and respect my punctuality. I would never recommend my friends to see Dr. Bloom.

:( Click to report rating    2/7/07 3 1 I went to see Dr Bloom on a referral from my pediatrician. The office is hard to find and the waiting room is incredibly small. The staff was very nice, but Dr Bloom had NO bed side manner what so ever. He was rude, short and would not let me explain my situation to him. I left feeling very frustrated and unsatisfied. I would drive to another state before I would go see this Dr again.

:( Click to report rating    7/18/06 1 1 Absolutely no people skills whatsoever. Tardy, sloppy and rude. He was very defensive when asked questions, and abruptly left us to summarize next steps with an assistant. I will NEVER go back to this "doctor," and am going to ask my pediatrician for a more client-friendly, professional pediatric dermatologist. Why subject my child (and myself) to this treatment again? Too bad there aren't more pediatric derm. in the Twin Cities.

:) Click to report rating    7/10/06 3 5 I have been a patient of Dr. Bloom's since he was at the U of MN and hadn't started specializing in pediatrics. This was at least 15 years ago. I have gone back to him recently AND brought my son to see him. He is extremely knowledgeable, straight-to-the-point and friendly. His staff is excellent. His team is not always punctual, but I attribute that to the fact that he performs minor surgeries in his office (for instance, my son & I had moles removed) and I know that if he runs into any issues, it will take longer. My boss also takes her 15-year old son to see him and they like him very much.

:( Click to report rating    6/26/06 2 1 We found Dr. Bloom to be argumentative, "in-your-face", insensitive, and pushy. We did not have a good surgical outcome. His waiting room is tiny and people were standing out in the hall.

:( Click to report rating    1/25/06 1 1 I brought my four month old son to him based on my main pediatric doctor's reference. I will NEVER bring him to Dr. Kenneth Bloom again! He spent most of the appointment typing on his computer than anything else. He quickly looked over my son and gave me a fast unsatisfying explanation of his condition. He then disappeared out of the room and sent his nurse back in to answer any further questions and to explain his prescriptions. I am not using his prescription reccomendations and I am going to another doctor for a second and more qualified opinion.

:( Click to report rating    12/20/05 1 1 Absolutely, without a doubt, the worst experience I've had with a health care professional. This doctor approaches his patients with absolutely no compassion and a total lack respect. His answers were curt, short, and at times defiant. He gave me no credit nor took my thoughts into consideration. He proclaimed himself to be a "lumper" of all birthmark types into one large container, called the Port Wine variety. To do this, will only leave him wide-open to criticism, due to the fact that an educated person fully knows that to put ALL birthmarks into one description, is absolutely incorrect. I saw five, not one, not two.... 5 other pediatric dermatologists across the midwest, and EACH ONE, stated the 180 degree opposite diagnosis of what Dr. Bloom, defiantly diagnosed.

:( Click to report rating    12/19/05 1 1 I have nothing good to say about Dr. Bloom. I took my 2 week infant to him for a birthmark consultation, and he told us she had to have laser surgery w/ no explanation or facts. When we did research on our own and presented him with a list of questions at our next appt., he was very defensive, short and continued to push laser treatment by saying the marks would never go away on their own. This is in contrast to several publications and doctors who advised to wait a couple years vs. jumping into anything so invasive. This was the most frustrating, upsetting experience we've ever had with a physician. My pediatrician said she'll refer us to a pediatric dermatologist at the U of M before telling us to go back to him (should we need to in the future). I too wish there were more options in the Twin Cities area. If so, maybe Dr. Bloom would need to improve his demeanor and approach to treatment options. For his patients' sake, I hope he reads these negative reviews.

:| Click to report rating    10/2/05 3 3 I thought he was rather rough and too quick - not a good "bedside manner". I'll go elsewhere.

:) Click to report rating    3/28/05 3 4 He is a pediatric dematologist and I have never felt so pushed around by him. He was callous when looking over my body for moles and seemed to have no respect for me, or females in general. He is smart but not on time. I waited 1 hour for a simple consultation. He is the only doc. in the mpls. office and they have too many patients. If I had to choose if I wanted to go back, I wouldn't.
