I initially found him to be a little rushed, I would wait a few minutes extra for my appointment and then would be in and out of the examination room very quickly. However, after time, I found that this is just him being efficient and that if you need more time, he will give it to you and not make you feel like you're an annoyance. I had a medical issue with that I was dealing with at the hospital (which was not great at communication information with me) and he sat down with me and went over all the information and answered all my questions and helped set me at ease.

Dr MacDonald is a normal doctor, eh can tell you kny you are sick and how to get better but I sometimes feel that he resnets patisnts for coming in for something he feels is not serious. Also, his secretary is very unpleasant, unlike Jill (who left to become a nurse) the current one is very nosy and forces you to tell her the reasons for yoru call and them proceeds to take it upon herself to decide whether or not your ailment is serious enough to warrant you getting an appointment. My 15 month old son has a cold and she told me that this was not serious enough to see the doctor and sent me off to the clinic to see a doctor that doesent even know him. Turns out he had a minor case of Pneumonia an a major infection in both ears....I was asked why my family doctor was not available!

Dr MacDonald has been my doctor for only three years, as mine retired. I find him helpful, gives you lots of time to discuss what you are there for. He does not rush you in or out. If the reason there is a bit of a wait, I can appreciate that he gives all his patients the same considerate attention. ELV

I often get the impression he is not listening. Relies to much on memory and his memory is not that good. A few weeks ago I asked a question. He didnt know but told me he would find out and for me to call back in a few days for an answer. Called back in 4 days and Jill had no idea what I was talking about. She told me that she would check with him and that she would call me back. That was three weeks ago and still no call. How long is it reasonable to wait for an answer to what I felt was an important question. Almost four weeks seems a bit long.

I find the Dr. sometimes not really listening to you. He will suggest things but really doesn't know how much your pain or problem is. He is polite, very quiet and I find it hard to talk to him. He is willing to refer, send for test. --but I find it hard to talk to him. Jill is wonderful and I always get an appt when I call, no waiting, he deserves 500% for this aspect.

i saw dr macdonald while he was filling in for my regular doctor. i had been sick for quite some time, and my regular dr kept telling me that i had IBS. i saw him and told him my symptoms, he immediately sent me for test. the following morning he called me to tell me that i had to come in immediately. come to find out, the symptoms that my dr had been ignoring were actually a very contagious bowel infection. i had had this infection for about 7 months. thank you dr macdonald. you were very thourough and pleasant. if i could switch from my useless doctor to you i would switch in a flash... thanx...

Punctuality...perfect!! Availability...perfect. Maybe I'm spoiled by my former doctor and the proficiency his secretary. At first I wasn't impressed, but becoming slightly more impressed as we go along. Dr. MacDonald is friendly, and seems prepared to give lots of time. While not being qualified to rate actual knowledge, I have to wonder if he's listening to what I'm saying. That in itself can seem like a lacking in knowledge. He doesn't seem to show the concern I'd like. I've found appointments and referrals aren't taken care of as promptly as they ought to be. Although his secretary is a super nice lady, maybe she's to blame that referrals and appointments are slow. Hopefully, there will be improvement.

Terrific doctor! Takes time to actually listen to you. Will refer you if needed. Was admitted to the hospital under his care last year and made sure I saw all the right specialists for my problem, sent me for CT's and lots of bloodwork to make sure I was getting well. He is absolutely terrific with my kids too!!!! Couldn't ask for a better doctor!

Uncertain just yet...punctuality is perfect... helpfulness...quite acceptable...knowledge...at times I feel he's not really being all that concerned or that he's hearing me. Still, there seems to be improvement.
