In my opinion Dr. Cicuto is the best. I was so relieved and happy when I "found" him again! He takes the time to listen to you and really works with you on your meds. The things I heard about Dr. Kunkel were horrible and I cancelled my when I got my letter stating I would see him. Dr. Cicuto was way to good for THAT practice

11/26/12 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | Absolutely horrible. I have a serious illness and saw his reviews thinking I just found a great doctor. I made an appointment and was told to drop off my records. I HAD TO CALL THEM, for they never called back and they said the doctor felt as tho I would be better off at the pain clinic I was currently at, who in which almost almost gove medicine that would of put my illness in a relapse and would of never been able to recover. I never even got my records back! He is scared and he is pathetic to me! I left me clinic I was at obviously for what they almost did to me and b/c of Dr Cicuto I had no doctor and/or records. So to me if you have a cold or a brokem bone hes probably fine. If you have a serious condition like myself ( 3 conditions and only 26 and had them since 22, but I am so young they say for me to have it! lmao yeah okay people my age is rare but it is not like it is not there.I would not even bother with him... he is to scared to even try. Thanks alot Doc! Your horrrible | Respond |

We were treated by Dr. Cicuto in 2008 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital and at his Center Ave.office in Shadyside. This man is so professional. One anesthesiologist I know called Dr. Cicuto the "guru" of pain management. His job is difficult yet he treated us with respect and caring and offered us real options. He is among the best you'll find in Pittsburgh in Pain Mgt.

I have followed every rumored lead and every solid lead in an attempt to contact Dr. Cicuto. So far, to no avail. The general consensus seems to be that Dr. Kunkle is a horrible nightmare at the very best. I have created a forum at Yahoo so patients can share leads on where Dr. Cicuto has gone. Also please share your experiences of finding a new doctor. Most of Dr. Cicuto's patients will be looking for a new doctor and if we share information we find, we can help each other out. The forum is: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/DoctorCPatients/ Please note this group and spread the word to other former patients of Dr. Cicuto. Thank you.

2/21/11 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | Also looking for Dr. Cicuto. So sad. I was treated like the nice human being I am, and not looked down upon b/c I have chronic pain. Why should a chronic pain patient have to go to the dr.'s office every month. This causes more stress and pain, above and beyond the pain we live with 24/7 | Respond |

2/16/11 | 3 | 5 | 5 | 5 | This is a great doctor because he actually listens to you and doesn't shun you away from the streatment you may need. Does anyone know where he is practicing now that UPMC has let him go? Thanks. | See Responses |

1/23/11 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr Cicuto is wonderful, very knowledgeable, passionate, and I would have to say the best pain management physician i have had in the past 10 years. I have been under his care the past 6 months and have learned how to manage my pain without over medicating myself . He takes the time to listen and truly does care. Never in the past 12 years have I felt better and had this much self esteem. It would be a shame to lose such a good influence in the field of pain medicine. I have learned so much from this man and find myself better for knowing him and having the chance to learn from such a brilliant man. | Respond |

A good DR, I have back surgeries that left me with chronic back pain. I have been on pain meds for a long time. He has helped me cut back on my pain meds, it is hard to do but I am always looking for another way to help me deal with the chronic pain.

Compassionate, and empathetic. He reads the chart with all new notes and records from other docs. Allows me to be part of treatment. He really listens to me and I feel like he is a friend, instead of "the doc" Some of the nurses can be a bit abrupt.

Concerned and appropriate. Will spend time necessary to understand your problems. Appropriate test are done, nothing extra. Friendly and empathetic. Office nurses are sometimes a little rushed but mostly good folks
