28/02/14 2 2 1 1 Dr.Baass spends not more than four or five minutes, has a poor bedside manner and virtually no compassion. Her hours are not good for anyone with a job, but she will not consider this during an appointment, and tells you to make another appointment. Due to this rush service, I have received poor patient care, delayed referrals, which resulted in dire consequences. At one time my pharmacy asked if the doctor was trying to harm with the medication that she prescribed. I have sought alternative medical care.  Respond

15/10/13 5 4 4 5 This Dr. is usually on time. She does not rush people, but she wants to know clearly the reason for the visit. She knows her stuff very well and does a great job.She cares and is very friendly with older patients.  Respond

27/02/13 3 1 1 3 She is never on time I usually wait anywhere from 20-30 after my appt time. She's is cold, has no personality at all. Tells you that your wrong and you don't have the problem your telling her about even though you have been treated for it for over 10 years. Never agrees with you on anything. She rushes you all the time. I really had wished that Dr.Andrade had picked a better GP to replace her than this doctor!!!!!!!! If your thinking about making her your doctor PLEASE THINK AGAIN. I am in the process of getting a new doctor!!!!!  See Responses

23/09/11 2 5 1 1 After trying to get pregnant for 10mths unsuccessfully with my husband, I went to Dr Baass for help, and her response to me was that I was young and didn't need to have kids yet and should come back later (even though I was 21 and married). I left feeling very frustrated, and went to see an endocrynologist with a self referal. I then found out that I had polycistic ovary syndrome which was causing infertility. Ever since then I rarely go to her because she is very cold and judgemental and looks for every opportunity to charge money. My hope is to get in with my husband's family doctor (who is amazing!), but that is proving to be not so easy.  Respond

11/05/11 4 2 2 2 I always feel rushed when I am when Dr. Baass. I feel uncomfortable as her demeanor is uncaring. Head down writing. I feel more like a case study. She has never informed me of anything new. I have always been the one diagnosing myself and she is always agreeable. She will not fill prescriptions over hte phone with pharmacies. She is money hungry.  Respond

16/06/08 4 5 5 4 I find Dr. Baas is excellent, overall. She appreciates a succinct description of problems, as she is busy (and good about not overbooking patients). I have never had trouble getting an appointment, but I save emergencies for the emergency room. I find her manner is brisk but I would never say uncaring. She is a "new doctor" - she expects the patient to take responsibility for our own health and will answer questions if you ask them. She appreciates frank descriptions of symptoms and take concerns seriously but doesn't baby patients. I've never had a problem bringing up one extra item but I've never tried bringing a whole "laundry list" to an ordinary appointment (e.g. I've never made a rush appointment for bronchitis, then arrived and talked about a skin rash, and 5 other health problems I've been thinking about but not come in for before). She's a great doctor - but not taking new patients at all right now.  Respond

22/04/08 5 4 5 5 Dr. Baass is very caring and also very kind with her patients. She tells them clearly what to do to keep and improve their health, even if we don't always like to hear the truth about our eating habits!  Respond

30/01/08 4 2 2 3 Dr. Baass could stand to lighten up a little and learn to listen to her patients' concerns. Dr.'s are human and they can't possibly know everything, nor should they be expected to. If a patient has some information they would like to share or discuss with their doctor they should not be treated like they are not intelligent or have no common sense, especially when it is concerning the patients health, not the doctors. Doctor's please don't take every question as a critisism, it's not about you or your ability! Work with your patients, together as a team, for the common goal of good health!  Respond

25/01/08 5 4 5 5 I like this Doctor. She does a good job. You don,t feel treated like if you were a baby, she treats you like a mature person.I like that.  Respond

04/01/08 5 5 5 5 Excellent. Went for my yearly physical and she addressed all my concerns. Also, made recommendations to improve my health ie. diet, exercise, habits. Her job isn't to be my friend and tell me things I want to hear but her job is to be my primary care physician and tell me things I may not want to hear but things that will improve my health i.e. lose weight, stop smoking. Perhaps those who have given negative rating are hearing the truth but maybe they are not ready for it. Don't mistake her honesty for insensitivity or coldness. She's a great MD with an excellent disposition.  Respond

28/12/07 1 5 1 1 Went for physical and Doctor did not do breast examination, also requested I keep my concerns to a maximum of 3 per visit. I don't appreciate the poor bedside manner and lack of interest in me as a person. She is lacking communication skills not very personable.  Respond

16/12/07 5 5 1 1 Dr. Baass took over from the best Dr. that ever was: Dr. Andrade. Dr. Baass is punctual but uncaring, unapproachable and has poor listening skills and poor bedside manner. She should try to build trust and caring into her approach...it would cost her nothing and would have many rewards. I too miss Dr. Andrade very much and pray that I would be so lucky to have someone as special as she was.  Respond

05/12/07 1 3 2 2 I have been to Dr. Baass three times since becoming her patient in 2004. I do not look forward to going as I feel rushed and unheard. My most recent appointment, for an annual physical, cost $80.00 because my health card had expired. An oversight on my part. She refused to see me without payment, up front. The office staff were very cold in their approach and refused to give me a receipt. When I inquired about a receipt they refused to give me one and told me it was pointless because I could not claim the cost. Dr. Baass rushed through my physical and indicated that she did not have very important medical records of tests that I had done a year ago. Very unprofessional and poor bedside manner. My daughter and I will continue to seek a different family physician that we can build a trusting relationship with.  Respond

03/12/07 3 4 5 5 Dr. Baass has been extremely knowledgeable and accurate each time I have come to her with a physical problem. She could work on her approachability as she does appear disconnected to her patients sometimes, however I believe she does care. She takes the time to talk to you and I have found her very attentive when I explain what the problem is. Dr. Baass just needs to learn to smile more. My younger kids really like her and she's great with them, however my teenage daughter comes home saying that she was treated rudely and that the doctor really doesn't like her. Overall, I think she is a wonderful doctor who just needs to work on her personal skills. She needs to show a little more warmth in her dealings with her patients.  Respond

03/12/07 4 4 2 2 I feel Dr. Baass is more concerned with being right, rather than listening to me. I gave detailed symptoms and concerns and was left feeling like a crazy person who didn't have a clue what was going on with my own body. She seems very cold and I get nervous going to see her because I feel like I'm on trial. I'm sure she is very knowledgeable, however I feel like my concerns are just dismissed. She doesn't seem to have the compassion it takes to be a family physician. Sometimes people are ill and don't look like it on the outside. Doctors need to listen to their patients concerns.  Respond
RID: 444178
14/11/07 2 4 1 2 Dr.Baass has no personality, is rude to her patience and needs to find a new profession. You should feel comfortably with your doctor not like your on trial. She has no compassion or understanding.  Respond

23/10/07 3 5 2 2 I find that Dr Baass has a very poor bedside manner. It seems that you are inconveniencing her and that she is not listening to you. Always seems to be fumbling around with paperwork and not looking you in the eye when talking to you. I believe she is a good person but needs to work on her approachability and personality.  Respond

22/10/07 5 5 5 5 Dr. Baas was my family doctor in Toronto. She was good professional and all my family liked her very much. Since then I can’t find decent family doctor.  Respond

04/10/07 5 3 1 3 Dr. Baas make you feel that your a bother to her, you don't feel she is listening to you. Has no sense of humour. Not sure she is comfortable with her choosen profession.  Respond

24/09/07 1 2 1 1 Dr.Andrade was the best dr. ever. She would always listen to you and make you feel better. This new doctor is terrible and if it werent for the dd shortage i assure you i would never go to her. She has no manners and makes you feel even worse than when you first went to see her. I MISS dr.andrade like crazy and wish she were back. BOOOOO to dr.baass  Respond

24/05/07 3 1 3 After having a doctor like Dr. Rigby it was very disappointing to go to a doctor like Dr. Baass. She is very uncaring, cold, and unapproachable. A family doctor should be someone you can talk to and feel comfortable, and you can't with Dr. Baass.  Respond
RID: 326909
23/05/07 4 2 2 I have been to see Dr. Baass several times as well as with my daughter. I have found her to be very cold and uncaring. My daughter even thought Dr. Baass didn't like her. What bothers me the most is that you should feel comfortable talking to your doctor about anything and since I don't I feel that my care under Dr. Baass is compromised. I guess she knows that with a doctor shortage there is not much we as patients can do right now.  Respond

29/04/07 4 4 5 Dr.Baass had some pretty big shoes to fill when she took over Dr. Andrade's patient load. I imagine it's quite a task to get to know each person, and with that office being such a busy place A LOT of the time, I can understand how, if there is a back up, she just wouldn't be able to spend the time needed to get to know her new patients intimately so soon. Having said that, I feel she's doing a great job and I applaud her willingness in the first place to go into Family Medicine. I think she is very knowledgeable. I think it will be just a matter of time before we (our family) get to know her as we knew Dr. Andrade. I feel very fortunate that we even have a family doctor.  Respond

27/04/07 3 1 2 Felt rushed, not very approachable, poor bedside manner. I felt unimportant and a waste of her time. Slightly defensive and not at all comforting/compassionate. Too bad Dr. Andrade left!  Respond

12/04/07 2 2 2 As far as the kids are concerned she seemed fine. As far as I was comcerned I felt like I didn't know what I was talking about and I was wasting her time. She doesn't have a very nice bedside manner. I miss Dr. Andrade.  Respond
