11/05/14 5 5 5 5 I had a brain hemorrhage when I was 2 weeks old, I am now 27 and lucky to be alive thanks to Dr. Cochrane! Received alot of treatment from the BC children's they inspired me to work with kids and within a hospital setting. He is an amazing doctor. I went and visited him since I have moved away and he has not aged a bit. Such good bed side manner! The kido`s and families that he sees should know they are in the best hands possible!  Respond

08/10/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Cochrane has been my son's doctor for the past 17 years .I find that he is a great doctor and a great person. He has gotten to know my son and while we see him about Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida , he also offers us great advice and encouragement on everyday life . He truly cares about his patients and my son looks up to him . I am probably a bit of a worry wart but he never dismisses any concerns we have without investigating and then explanations.

18/01/13 5 5 5 5 After 4 brain surgeries I feel I can safely say you are in the best hands with Dr.Cochrane. He has operated on me every time and always produces the results we wanted. Even when he guaranteed there would be a large visual default from the surgery, he is so good at his job he managed to remove the tumor completely and my vision remained virtually intact! I knew upon meeting him that he was a doctor I would like as he is incredibly warm and knowledgeable. Now I look forward to my appointments with him as there are always some laughs and story telling. He is one of the most caring doctors, if not men, I have met. There's a reason I don't mind being operated on when I'm 19 years old in a children's hospital and it's because I trust Dr.Cochrane completely. I'm not looking forward to graduating to a regular hospital and leaving this terrific surgeon behind. -BH

06/10/10 5 5 5 5 Dr. Cochrane is the most talented, professional, humble, kind man I have ever met. My son was treated for an bone cyst in his skull-twice. Without the skill and treatment of Dr. Cochrane and his team we can't bear to think what could have happened to our baby boy. We are incredibly grateful for both our doctor and our medical system here in BC, Canada.  Respond

19/12/08 5 5 5 5 I was born in 1989 with Hydrocephalus and needed emergency surgery to implant a shunt that was experiemental at the time. I was born premature and others thought he was insane was placing a shunt so large on my head but, in the end, this shunt as yet to fail me completely, only two revisions in '01 and 05' of the lubing, not actual shunt and here I am now nearly twenty and because of him I am living. I wish he dealt with adults too, I miss him as my Neurosurgeon.  Respond

13/07/07 5 5 5 5 Just can't say enough good about this doctor! He was the second opinion for my daughter (4 mos old at the time) and I am limitless in my thankfulness that we got to have him as a doctor. First dr gave her a very grim prognosis with little hope for a fullfilling normal life, Dr. Cochrane knew exactly what he was doing, he is exceptional at dealing with children and he is compassionate and understanding with parents. Top notch doctor!  Respond

24/05/07 5 5 5 Dr Cochrane operated on our son Martin when he was 3yrs old in 1990, Air Ambulanced in 1989 with a Brain Aneurysim,Broken Blood line in brain.Turns out it requires Specialized Vascular Calcification surgery that according to the specialists should only be done in Sweden, Pittsburg or Paris. All doc's from those locations "declined" due to calcification damage being too substantial. Dr C said he would do it as nobody else will. expected time was 12 hours of surgery with expectations of no speech, learning to be a leftie, seizures for life, walk with a cane and developmentally slow. Well results are...no more seizures since 1990, child was able to speak, now walks & runs great NO CANE, Young man is now 21 yrs old 6'2" and an actor, impersonates all voices and sounds from 200 complete movies in perfect pitch. Hearing some how was magnified and thus the impersonations. Very pleased with this Doctor. Extra effort, compassion, committment shown everywhere! a real credit to the profession
