07/06/14 1 1 1 1 About 3 years ago, obtain referral to this Dr concerning occasional chest pains in heart area. Sent for Echo & Chemical Stress Heart Test. He did NOT find anything wrong, but my body was telling me something is wrong with off/on pain at heart. I made another direct appointment to see him to attempt to settle the matter concerning warning pain signs. No further action was taken by him. Feb 2014 I had a major heart attack & required 6 bypass heart operation because I had 9 major artery blockages in my heart which was caused by long term conditions over many numerous years beyond 3 years. After an extreme health loss caused by this situation, I definitely DO NOT WANT TO SEE DR. BLOOMBERG AGAIN as the matter should have been detected about 3 years ago when I was asking for his trained expertise to help me. It really makes you question his abilities when I almost died. I strongly suggest you seek another Dr concerning any heart concerns.

22/02/14 4 4 4 5 Dr Bloomberg is fine. Yes, he swings patients through. However it seems to me that this insures that previously undiagnosed patients may get help earlier than if they had to wait for another slower cardiologist. I understand the medical terms and concepts very well and can tell he knows what he is talking about. He didn't sugar-coat it. So? Good! He told me (nicely) three times to get on blood thinners (Xarelto) and each time gave prescription and samples, because of my nasty atrial fibrillation. I thought I knew better, didn't take any meds and guess what - had a stroke! It is 100% my own stupidity, not his. It's all in the human interaction, friends, I get along fine with the guy. Try, if you don't mesh, hey, move on. Bloomberg has my vote, and my gratitude.

12/08/12 1 1 1 1 Dr. Bloomberg incorrectly read my echogram-telling me that I had enlarged heart when it was not the case. Caused undue stress for months and almost had to cancel marathon. Had to have second echogram months later, which confirmed my heart was not enlarged. Avoid this physician if you want correct test interpretation. My cardiologist thinks he probably never reviewed the original echogram-going by what the tech said.  Respond

24/09/11 2 1 2 3 Based on my 2 scheduled appointments. 2. Punctuality: 1st apptmt waited +1 hour; 2nd apptmt waited almost an hour. No explanation. I wonder if Dr. Bloomberg would tolerate waiting &/or losing an hour's earnings. 3. Helpfulness: Appeared over-worked & disorganized. More concerned about numbers than his patient. Didn't read over my patient history form. Showed little concern for patient's well-being/concerns. Heart attacks may be routine for him, but most patients, I believe, are scared & would appreciate some answers. Sadly, Dr. Bloomberg appears devoid of any empathy. 4. Knowledge: Difficult to assess. Appointments are 1-sided & focus on numbers. 1. Staff: Troubling. Called over 1 month prior to confirm 2nd apptmt & mentioned had cardiac setback. Staff member said obtaining info/results important. I relied I would come in & sign release. Informed not necessary; staff would obtain info & I could sign at apptmt. *** Info/Results NOT obtained. *** Informed signed release NOT necessary.  Respond

20/05/10 3 3 2 3 Dr. bloomberg is sooo rude!! I have seen him twice now and the first time i lay on the examining table while he checked his email in the same room. As well on the first visit he recommended that i needed no treatment for my arrythmia as i was "asymptomatic". On the second visit he rudely asked me why i hadnt gotten my arrythmia treated??? (I was still asymptomatic) and my blood pressure was creeping up (i have since then come to realize that i have white coat syndrome---multiple BP checks at home have been normal) and he told me that i probably eat a typical north american diet high in salt..eat out etc etc. When i stopped him and said actually i eat very well ( i am on a gluten free diet---if anyone is aware of that diet...it restricts you to eat very natural, no wheat, no gluten , no processed foods). Do you want to know how he responded to my remark. He said thats exactly it...."you eat too well!" Needless to say, I am looking for a new cardiologist.  Respond

11/03/09 5 4 5 5 I am impressed by the caring and knowledge of this Doctor. He did a comprehensive evaluation of my heart, which I am relieved is Normal. I was apprehensive but he put my mind to rest. Very reassuring, calm yet a busy office. I was also touched to learn that he was sensitive dealing with his own family medical issues, which he was obviously upset about. I would strongly recommend him. Great person.  See Responses

24/02/09 3 2 1 3 I was topless [and female] after an EKG in a room off his office. The nurse left the door open. Dr. Bloomberg and a male patient subsequently walked into the office. The male patient walked directly into my line of vision. I hastened to cover up. THEN the nurse came in and informed the doctor that I was in the back room. He came to see me ten minutes later, asked a string of questions, asked the same question twice. We went into his office to speak further, and he proceeded to check his email for almost ten minutes while I was sitting directly behind him waiting to be addressed. Finally he asked me another string of questions, interrupted my responses, gave no indication as to what he thought the problem was, prescribed me some tests, and left -- but not before taking out a chunk of chocolate from his desk and eating it in front of me directly after he told me I was not to drink coffee, juice, or eat chocolate. Irresponsible, uncommunicative, and arrogant. I do not recommend.  Respond

23/10/08 3 4 3 5 I have had only 2 appointments with this Dr. the first I was very scared because I went from my GP's to his office after being told" I think you have had a mild stroke" (I'm 41 yrs) He was very rushed but I was fit in which I appreciated...My next appontment his staff messed up on and cancelled it without telling me but fit me in anyway...He was rushed but also gave me the answers to my questions....My next appontment is in a weeks time and I hope he is not rushed so I can get a better sence on how my progress has been and when I can get off these damn pills.  Respond

13/02/08 2 1 2 2 Not impressed. Needs a major lesson in people handling skills. Too busy shooting people through like cattle and in my case didn't pay a lot of attention to my ailment but was more interested in sending me to the States for paid tests rather than Canada. We, Canadians, pay his salary by the way.  Respond

21/01/08 5 5 5 5 Really enjoyed meeting this fine physcian, he spent as much time with me as I needed He is kind , caring and very knowledgable. I don't understand last comment , must have been other emergencies that made him rush. He seems to balance looking after critically ill patients and stable pts. very well. Highly respect his opinion and are proud to have him as my cardiologist.  Respond

14/01/08 4 2 1 2 Bloomberg overbooks patients, extremely long wait to get in to see him. He seems disinterested in a patients well being spent very little time and misdiagnosed me. Thankfully i was able to find a better cardiologist. Don't waste your time with this doctor, hes just not interested in helping anyone.  Respond

13/04/07 4 5 5 I found Dr. Bloomberg to be an excellent doctor, knowledgeable and caring. Didn't push drugs inappropriately. True, my appointment was 15 min. late - a small price to pay for competency. Some of the previous comments do not reflect my experience, especially since I witnessed him reviving a patient that had a cardiac arrest in his waiting room. The guy is alive only because of Dr. Bloomberg. I would easily recommend Dr. Bloomberg to anybody.  Respond

21/03/07 2 2 4 Found Bloomberg pompous, arrogant and full of himself in toto.Too many patients in Cardio programmes in Burnaby totally dislike this person & have transferred to other practioners who employ empathy and a great "bedside" manner.

20/03/07 1 1 4 Arrogrant, rude and considers himself to be the best. When I told him I was no longer going to his patient, his response was "Well, you won't get a better Doctor than I am". I was retaining water and my heart was beating erratically, he told me "what did I expect him to do, he was a heart doctor. I pity the seniors who do not have support if they have him as a Doctor.  Respond

13/03/07 3 1 5 Knowledgeable but RUDE! Dr. Bloomberg does not have a good bedside manner. I waited for my appointment once and had the hopes of becoming better. I was called in to his office, I sat down, Dr. Bloomberg came in, sat in his chair and said "You are not getting better. I'll see you in 3 months." (Note, there wasn't even a hello). I pointed out that I had some complications which may have slowed my healing process, he just looked at me and said "you are not going to get better, I'll see you in 3 months" and he walked out the door. My appointment was 3 minutes long. I proved him wrong, and got better!  Respond
