17/06/14 1 1 1 1 My Dr Cummings experience was negative. I first saw him in 2009 & was told the test I had done showed that one tube was closed & the other most likely closed. He wanted to do evasive testing, but I never went back. It didn't feel right. In 2012, when I got married I called the office to be taken off their list. They insisted I come in to get more testing done & get my husband tested. I went in & he wasn't happy I didn't have more testing done and he spoke about taking my tubes out for IVF, if they were of no use. After he left the room, I felt so sick, I couldn't move for 10 mins. Well guess what, I ended up being pregnant at that very appointment & didn't know yet. When I called back to let them know & under my OBGYN's care, they wanted to do an early ultrasound to make sure I wasn't ectopic. They had me worrying again. Everything was completely fine & I never went back to their clinic. I just had a second healthy baby, again naturally, under my OBGYN's care. Advice go with your gut.  Respond

31/01/13 3 5 4 5 My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Cumming for a year and I find him to be very personable and funny making a very stressful situation manageable. He was very kind during my last surgery and has answered my questions clearly and candidly. The only negative is that the wait times between appointments can be very long especially when infertility has a ticking clock.  Respond

21/08/12 3 3 2 2 I saw Dr Cummings twice only - he is not my regular doctor - and had nothing good come out of our meetings both times. The first time he told me to learn when to quit when he was in to do an ultrasound, as my file is thick (I just had a miscarriage)to give up while I was ahead. The second time I saw him for a baseline ultrasound and he advised he could not find my uterius and asked if I was sure it was there. He then asked me what dose I wanted for meds. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL  Respond

11/03/12 5 5 5 5 Just started seeing Dr. Cumming after trying to get pregnant for 18 months. He's a great doctor! Very knowledgeable, makes jokes to put you at ease, and is honest. Glad we started going to him!  Respond

10/11/11 2 3 4 5 Dr. Cumming is an interesting doctor. He is very knowledgable and knows his stuff but if you are looking for a sympathetic doctor, he may not be the right person for you. Dr. Cumming is a realist and will not give you false hope which is a good thing. I did get pregnant after 1.5 years of trying and using 3 rounds of clomid and 3 IUIs at the same time. He does know what he is talking about and can help you but don't expect to be mollycoddled. The nurses are really good in this clinic and are more comforting than the doctors. The receptionists are horrible though. I don't know if its because they are so busy and understaffed but in a day to book at IUI, I had to call about 15 times and if you leave a message they most likely won't call you back. I am grateful for all of their help but I wish you got more support from them.  Respond

23/08/11 4 4 4 5 Dr Cumming is very knowledgeable although at times it feels like pulling teeth trying to get information - be prepared, do a bit of research ahead of time and have your list of questions ready. He is calm and tells it like it is without being rude. He is also a funny fellow and we enjoyed our interactions with him. Most of all, we achieved pregnancy after three IUIs (after 2 years of trying on our own). He recommended the appropriate treatment for us given the nature of the problem (older maternal age and low sperm count). I was unsure it would work, but given that an IUI is minimally invasive and cheaper than other options, I am glad that we trusted his judgment.  Respond

08/03/11 5 1 5 5 Dr. Cumming was very helpful and attentive. He has lots of students with him, but maybe because he is knowledgeable. He speaks softly so you have to strain a bit to hear, but we enjoyed his quirky jokes and pleasant demeanor.  Respond

28/04/10 4 4 3 5 I have just started with this Dr. after 1 year an a half of trying and using a BC clinic to start treatment (the waiting list for him is REALLY LONG). So far we've had a good experience. My first appointment with him took about an hour. He had us go for more tests and sceduled an HSG for me right away - although he did forget to mention the "fasting" part of my blood work test, I'm grateful to finally be getting some answers. I'm torn on the aspect that he won't give any false hope....When I asked him what would my options be depending on the outcome of the HSG, he refused to say. I guess in a way that's good, but I like to know the worst case scenario. Our appointment was first thing in the morning and he was right on time. He talks a little quietly so I had to strain to hear him sometimes, but my hubby and I have a good, positive feeling about him. Fingers Crossed!  Respond

27/03/09 4 3 3 4 I have pcos as well. Have been seeing this doctor now for 5months. He is good at what he does but you definetly need to know some stuff about your condition to ask the questions you want. He does try and joke around with you and sometimes it is relaxing and comforting. I find he does have the interns or nurses tell you alot more of the information than he does but he relays it to them and in turn he is also training new doctors to know what they need to know. I'm still new with this doctor and have a long ways still to go. But so far he has been good. Little late with appointments for procedures but what doctor isn't. So far so good will continue with. Until I no longer feel comfortable.  Respond

21/02/09 5 4 5 5 Dr. Cumming has been an outstanding help for our fertility issues. I have PCOS and he has always been open and honest about our options. He had mapped out our strategy for getting pregnant with the first step being laproscopy to deal with some endometriosis that I had. The surgery went smoothly and he explained to me on the following appointment exactly what the post-surgery notes meant. He has always communicated well and even jokes around. The staff at the fertility clinic is (for the most part) outstanding. I have been thankful for their help in my pregnancy pursuits.  Respond

02/02/09 1 4 1 2 Sorry to say, but we had a terrible experience with this doctor, and the clinic he works at in general. Misinformation, and general flippant attitude. I have gleaned more information about our fertility issues from bulletin boards and websites than I have from him. Got better information from doctors at other clinics that I called, desperate for information.  Respond

31/01/09 5 4 4 4 Dr. Cumming is very knowledgeable! He knows his stuff and has a great sense of humour-you do have to know some of your stuff to be able to ask questions-I always take my husband so he can ask the questions. The staff is fabulous!  Respond

03/07/08 5 5 5 5 I have been trying to concieve for over 5 years, and Dr. Cumming listened to all my concerns and what route of treatments I wanted to take. He was very quick in getting all my appointments and tests done. The nurses are UNREAL! They are great! I have no words to describe this clinic other than FABULOUS! I am now pregnant and expecting triplets!  Respond

19/05/08 2 1 2 5 Lousy bedside manner - has an offhand, flippant attitude. We've been going to the fertility clinic for IUIs for 7 months, and only saw him once 7 months ago, despite the fact that he's our assigned fertility dr....the rest of the time, we're seen by the nurses (a different nurse every month for 7 months I might add). We haven't had the frequent blood monitoring or ultrasounds that are standard at other fertility clinics when patients are on superovulation meds (actually, we haven't had an ultrasound at all to check uterine lining or follicles). So we're quitting this clinic and will seek out a new one when we move to Ontario. I think there's a reason this clinic doesn't have a website or any success stats...most other clinics in Canada do.  Respond

12/06/07 5 5 5 I'm currently seeing Dr. Cummings for a fertility issue. For all the tests and procedures I've gone through to date he's alway's put me at ease. He's extremly easy to talk to and really understands your concerns. When he's explained his finding in any test's I've had he always explains it in plain english so you know where you stand.  Respond

16/03/07 4 5 5 My experience with Dr. Cummings was wonderful...I have Pcos and was referred to him. My main goal when seeing him was to get pregnant. I knew i was suffering from infertility and that it wasn't going to be an easy task. I first had a surgery done(ovarian drilling)and it went very well..he is very informative and knowledgeable. After my surgery and recovery he had me back as he knew my goal was to get pregnant...I did 2 treatments of injectabel fertility drugs and got pregnant onthe second try.....I can't express how happy my husband and I are and thank dr cummings and staff for their get support and help at achieving this pregnancy...I am expecting my first baby at the end of July 2007.....great job to them and their office...  Respond

08/03/07 4 5 5 I love Dr. Cumming. I first saw him for hormone imbalance and he was the second specialist I saw. Everything made sense immediately and for years I had no further troubles. He had an open door to see him again when I decided to try to have a baby. He was excellent with my husband and I and had a "we won't give up attitude". I miscarried the first pregnancy after taking medication and his staff were so supportive and helpful. I would recommend him to any woman suffering from PCOS or struggling with infertility.  Respond

17/02/07 2 5 5 Don't expect a punctual appointment! Our average seems to be 30-60 minutes later than our appointment, even when suffering through the misery of knowing we were miscarrying waiting to discuss our options. Although for the record getting us an appointment first the day after we found out was very nice of them. He is incredibly knowledgeable and is always up to date on the most recent studies and research. I didn't find the medical speak to be that bad - I have done a lot of independent research though and we are able to have very good conversations. He was an amazing and compassionate support to us through our miscarriage. He even gave us a 2nd ultrasound even though he knew there was no point - all to make us feel more comfortable in making the decisions. He is a very patient man and it is easy to tell that he cares very much about his patients.  Respond

22/01/07 1 4 5 He is good, he's been in the business of fertility for a long time 25+ yrs and seems a bit tired. He spent alot of time with us on our first visit. Come prepared to ask questions because he is not going to share unless you ask. He talks in medical terms you need to remind him to speak in a language you understand. He tells it like it is and depending on the day, depends on the amount of compassion you will receive with your fertility challenges. Be prepared with all your questions....there are many options.  Respond
