She doesn't listen at all. I think she's decided her diagnosis before I open my mouth. I understand her perfectly well but she's a quack. I have a nurse's background and this woman should NOT be allowed to practise medicine.

The extremely low quality rating this Dr. gets (a laughable 2.1) is bad enough but the sad truth is it's far higher than she actually deserves!! When you make an appointment with this Dr., which usually takes a month or more, there is one sure thing.....as the appointment date approaches it will be cancelled and re-scheduled, which takes another month or more, and it could even be re-scheduled a third time. Which means an average appointment takes about 3 months or more!!!!! I have never had an appointment re-scheduled by my family Dr. before Bhalla, But with this Dr. it's pretty much every time....Very strange!!!..... Waiting 3 and a half months for an appointment is just NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! But that's only part of it....she is extremely unknowledgeable, rude, uncaring, and very hard to understand. I could go on forever but she's not worth it! A TERRIBLE DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!

The worst doc I have ever had to go to! She is unknowledgeable, poor bedside manner and rude. She consistently cancels her office on a regular basis. She is never there period. I called her secretary after being cancelled again and picked out ramdom days to reschedule, 4 months later I got an appointment that was convienent for me. She is all about the money. I asked her to do a physical for work but that it wasn't really necessary as I am young and healthy.. she signed the paper (no physical given) and still charged for the "physical". Also might add her secretary is about as moronic as she is, booking appointments then cancelling b/c she didn't notice vacation days or holidays.. then I have to wait another month or more waiting for another appointment. She also told my roommate personal info about my appointment scheduled when she called to reschedule. So it's not all Dr. Bhalla to complaint about in that office! There is so much more to complain about but not enough room..

I've read some of the posts and the most recent one concerning her accent is totally off center. Dr. Bhalla is getting poor reviews because she is barely competent as a Dr. I have so many complaints about this doctor that 1000 characters wouldn't even come close. I had an issue with hemorroids and every other doctor I've ever had always checked them occationally to make sure they didn't develop into something more serious. When I started going to Dr. Bhalla she refused to check me, don't ask me why and she just kept giving me the same medicine which clearly wasn't working, based on a verbal diagnosis only. I ended up going to a specialist because I felt that the care I was receiving was incomplete. Another complaint I have is how incredibly often she cancels her appts. I've never been to a doctor who cancels more appts. in my life. I would say 1 out 3 are cancelled and I don't go to the doctor all that often so it feels like it's all the time. Why do we have to put up with this

It saddens me to read some of the comments about Dr Bhalla. She maybe for some hard to understand, she does have an accent but that should'nt be a reason for rating this physcian poorly. She takes her time & when I ask for her to repeat or clarify she does so without hesitation. She delivered our 1st daughter & did an amazing job.Her specialty is Obstectrics & was head of that department in India. You could not get a more qualified Dr.in that respect. It is too bad that Monctonians seem to be scared of different cultures & are'nt open to diversity.I would rather have a Dr. who is excellent & is thourough & caring than a Dr. who's just the opposite. At my recent appt & pregnant with our 2nd baby she informed me that she's no longer delivering babies due to administrative issues, a shame really! She's the best in this field & very qualified. Seems as though this city has turned their backs on a fantastic Dr. Are we not short Dr. in N.B? This is not a way to keep them around that's for sure.

I had read this list of comments and went to her almost on the defensive. My experience with Dr. Bhalla has been most positive, and I am extremely pleased with her work. Because she is so good at her work, I live each day in confidence that I am very well looked after. I would have to say that she is the best doctor I have ever had and I am 63 years old. I hope she is with us for a very long time

I have difficulty understanding her english & I feel she often does not understand me. I have felt that she was accusing me of asking her to do something unethical which has not been the case. I find her rude, interrupting when I'm telling her why I'm there. I feel she tries to psychoanalyze me, which I hate. She is good at referring when needed but I strongly dislike her policy of dealing with only 1 health issue/visit. I require 3 separate appts for 3 chronic health problems every 3 months. Two of the conditions are well controlled, appts are short. I see a specialist for the 3rd. Yet these appts tend to be long & usually very upsetting. Prescription refill requests must be made when the appt is made or they require another appt. Last, she shares reception & waiting areas with her psychiatrist husband. There is little privacy for pts as they make appts & discuss issues with his secretary. I am uncomfortable for them & for myself. I hear many things that should not be heard.

Guess I'm with the majority here with my feelings toward this doctor! Or so called Dr! She is only concerned with making money, her patients are merely stepping stones to this end. All she worries about is her stupid rules and how she can bring you back for another appointment and....more money!!....Never seen a Dr so obsessed with this one thing only per visit rule......When an elderly woman (my mother) almost 90 years of age, and in poor health, driving 35 kilometers to visit her Dr is told to book another appointment just to have her blood pressure checked because she was only allowed one ailment per visit. And the visit lasted exactly two minutes.....Well, sometimes maybe she should bend her precious rules just a little bit!!!......Can't imagine Dr Phelan or any other Dr for that matter, being so calious and uncaring!.....Please come back Dr Phelan!!!

Okay, what can I say: nothing good, she is rude, unfriendly and walked out of the room while I was talking to her, she is very hard to understand, will not speak up and is visible anoyed when asked to repeat anything. I was there for my appointment on time, but I had to wait & wait & wait, then at 12:00 noon she gets up and goes for lunch & leaves me sitting in a cold waiting room for another hour.

I have only had one visit to date with Dr Bhalla, but was very comfortable with her. I did not find her hard to understand, and she was very thorough with the "reason" for my visit. As my whole family was transferred to Dr Bhalla, my daughter now has her for her pregnancy. My daughter also tells me that she is quite happy with her. She has been polite, kind and again very thorough. It is very nice to have a lady doctor.

Where did she get her medicine degree anyways, cracker jack box? seems like she's more worried about putting me on depression meds even though i am perfectly fine. was going in for an exam???? kind of confused, but it seems now a days everything leads to depression right, or at least she thinks so.

Sorry but she is very intelligent and has an interest in helping and curing you.....doesn't take chances checks out everything. So the story is this, stop complaining and get to know your doctor so she is from another country but listen to her and she will certainly help you. I am happy she took over Dr. Phelan's workload she is a wonderful doctor and truly loves her work

My first visit to Dr. Bhalla was after a car accident. She was very difficult to understand, I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. She prescribed a topical anti-inflammatory that is generally used for the knee or ankle, which would have been fine except I was to use it on my back. This medication is used on the joints not soft tissue. It did nothing to help and on top of that was not covered by my insurance plan. At the end of the visit she asked me if I wanted her to prescribe an anti-anxiety medication. I'm still not sure why as I did not have any anxiety problems. I dread going to see this doctor and am in the process of trying to find a new family doctor for me and my family. I would much rather visit a doctor at an After Hours clinic than visit her office one more time.

I see that i'm not the only one that feels this way about this doctor. I only went to see her once after Dr. Phalen left, and it was the last. I was more concerned after I left about my health, never got my questions answered properly. I have already found another doctor, thank god!

I dread going to this doc each time. Mentioned I would be back for an appt to have her fill forms out for short term leave from work. She asked how long I had been off, then said it was time for me to go back, without examining or asking any other questions. No info to type of work or how I now felt. Another visit for referral for my son for a pediatrician, and was informed that if she got attitude again, my family would be removed from her practice - and we were polite to her! Always rude, when needing a referral she asks who you want, although I have no knowledge of who specialists are. Very unwilling to let you answer her questions, always interrupting. Assumes she knows the answer before you reply to her. Extremely dissatisfied with this "doctor".

I only saw this Dr. once and I will never go back. She disregarded the reason for my visit which was to see if I could get off my BP Meds. She didn't even take my blood pressure and informed me she did not believe in blood pressure machines!! Instead of addressing this issue she prescribed medication for depression as I seemed nervous to her. I probably was a little nervous for this being my first visit. I have other family members that have gone to her and they will no longer return either. She was extremely condecending and abrupt and seemed more concered with her RULES! I have to agree with most of the posted comments. I now travel 30 mins. to see another Doctor.

Okay, not sure why she is rated so low. Dr. Bhalla checks all areas of your health and doesn't take chances.....refers to specialists when necessary. She is the doctor of many of my family, my dad, my brother, sister etc.... and feel she is a very good doctor and I feel the same. Has a great bedside manner....

I have never been to a Dr. that was so incredibly rude and condescending. She was very abrupt and agressive and seems to be more interested in how much money the appointment would generate than the reason we were there. Two issues were related but she wouldn't even consider speaking of the 2nd one and insisted that another appt. be made. She raised her voice 3 times during the appt. and chastised me for trying to confuse her! I've never in my life been subjected to such an insulting appointment and judging from the other comments on this site, I'm not alone. I hope her time in Moncton is limited and her practice dwindles until she is humbled. She is a horrible, disgraceful example of doctors in our area. Goodbye!

DR. BHALLA IS THROUGH, VERY EFFICIENT, A GOOD LISTENER, TAKES A LOT OF NOTES AND ALWAYS GIVE YOU THE TIME NEEDED TO ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. THE THING THAT STRIKES ME THE MOST IS THAT SHE HAS A SENSE OF HUMOUR AND IS ALWAYS IN A GOOD MOOD. AS HER HUSBAND IS A PSYCHIATRIST, DR. BHALLA IS EXTREMELY GOOD AT DIAGNOSING MENTAL ILLNESSES AND PRESCRIBING THE NEEDED DOSAGES OF ANTI-DEPRESSANT AND DEPRESSANT MEDICATIONS. BECAUSE I SUFER FROM BI-POLAR ILLNESS, SHE'S A VERY GOOD IN-BETWEEN LINK TO MY PSYCHIATRIST, DR. ASAD MAHMUD. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT HER. I FEEL EXTREMELY LUCKY TO HAVE HER.

went from bad to worse. Dr. Bhalla replaced Dr. pat Phelan whom I had more bad experiences than good. I sent my husband to Dr. Bhalla with my son to take care of an issue my son has had since birth. Dr Bhalla talked so many circles around the issue that they walked out of there with no results and I had to call and make another appointment for the SAME ISSUE. When I went with my son, she tried running me in the same circles and almost had me convinced that I was imagining things. There to make money and not find any solutions for her patients. I also agree that she and her husband SHOULD NOT BE SHARING AN OFFICE. How uncomfortable is that for his patients having to be that public. He is a psychiatrist. The staff in the office are even worse yet. If you can beleive that one. We visit the after hours clinic 99.9% of the time in order to see a doctor that really cares. And those doctors have no ties to us. Pathetic really.

Having to go to this doctor was the most difficult experiences we have had with the medical system. The lack of common courtesy, respect, compassion were only confounded by the constant reference to the "rules" she has posted for all to see - one strictly held was "only one issue per visit" no matter how inter-related the items might be, nor how urgent. We have been very fortunate to change doctors so we no longer have to endure this painful experience. To sum it up - should we find ourselves at an after-hour clinic or emergency ward with this doctor as our only medical option, we would prefer to go home and suffer the injury or illness. Patient beware!

I have gone to her office a few times and everytime that I did go I would explain what the problem is and I would always an answer "What do you think it is?" I HAVE NO IDEA THAT IS WHY I CAME HERE AND I AM NOT THE ONE THAT WENT TO MED SCHOOL. I really think that she does not know what is wrong, just likes the pay checks.
