:) Click to report rating *  4/13/09 5 3 4 Here's the deal: There are two brothers in the practice: Dr. Gary & Dr. Santo. If you are looking for a doctor who's OVERLY friendly, lovey-dovey, Huggy-Kissy, Jokes around, great personality, then Dr. Santo is your man. If you are looking for a doctor that's straight-to-the-point, friendly-ish, but very knowledgable, and sometimes jokes around, then Dr. Gary is your man. Sometimes he can come off as kind of cold, however if I was ever concerned or had a question, he always was very caring and compassionate. If you called, he got back to you ASAP, no matter what time it was. I personally LOVE Dr. Gary! He delivered both my boys (now 3 and 1) via C-Section...and I was very happy with my surgery and recovery. He's also young and is up on the latest surgical techniques...I trust this man with my life. Plus, the staff is awesome. I would go in with my 2 year old and they would have books and would play with him..they were great!

:| Click to report rating *  11/20/08 4 3 2 Dr. Gary needs to give out information and advise all patients without waiting for them to ask questions. As he may be a good doctor to some it is very important to be consistent. I asked him several questions with my husband present only to tell me later on that "he never said or advised that" as if I were crazy. Being more personable would help. Perhaps he is overworked but there is no excuse for not giving a patient what they need to feel comfortable and that may be time and answers. SLOW DOWN!

:) Click to report rating *  9/15/08 4 4 5 I think Dr. Gary is a great doctor. He may not give you alot of time on a regular visit if everything is okay but if you have a problem he is sure to be there 100%. I have called him several times and he is sure to get on the phone or call me back within 30 minutes. I have been going through a tough time and he is always there for any questions i may have. I feel Dr. Gary is great.Dr. Santos is also a great dr. I seen him one time because i had an emergency and he was great. He sat down and gave me the comfort i needed.

:) Click to report rating *  9/12/08 5 4 5 I'm inclined to think that the bad ratings all come from the same person... Dr. Gary is by far the best dr I've ever seen. This is my second child and I am so happy I found him. I had a great delivery in 2006 with another Dr in another state and I was very pleased. However, Dr. Gary exceeds my expectations. Yes, appointments are very short but he's always available for questions. During my first appointment he was very busy but he took the time to meet with me and my husband for about 30 minutes. I had some bleeding when I was 11 weeks pregnant, and he called me every day at 3pm for a week. Most doctors don't care at 11 weeks! I couldn't be happier. I want another natural delivery and he respects that.

:) Click to report rating    4/25/08 5 4 4 Dr Gary was reccomended to me during the 2nd trimester of my 2nd pregnancy. He diagnosed me correctly with Thrombphilia, and treated it while my prior DR never heard of the condition and waited until I was 39 weeks to tell me my placenta was caput and my son was not growing. While Dr Gary is a bit rushed, whenever I had questions or concerns he took as much time as I needed to answer. He returned my calls immediately, and while my delivery was smooth, I had major complications after hospital discharge, and he called me practically every day to check on me. Dr Gary is, by far, the best Dr I have ever had, hands down.

:) Click to report rating    4/24/08 5 5 5 Thanks to Dr. Gary delivered naturally my healthy baby boy about 7 weeks ago. He is a very compassionate, personable, professional & caring. He did not push c-section and was there for me during pregnancy and L&D. He is the best dr and i would not go to anyone else.

:) Click to report rating    2/29/08 5 5 5 I am in love with Dr. Gary.. He delivered my son and was there every step of the way...I wouldn't think of having anyone else deliver my children..He may come across as having no bedside manner but when it really matters the true him is revealed with compassion and warmth, that is when it changed for me. Dr. Santo is great, too.

:) Click to report rating    12/13/07 3 5 3 He and dr. Santo are known for pushing c-sections without serious medical reason. Dr Gary is rude and stuck-up during pregnancy visits. Not comforting and understanding during delivery either. A lot of people I spoke to feel the same way, unfortunately they don't post their opinions here. He is way too overrated

:) Click to report rating    10/29/07 5 4 5 Dr. Gary is the best! I would never trust any OB/GYN the way I trust him. I have complete faith in both him and his brother. Dr. Gary doesnt take my insurance and I always pay out of pocket which can get pricey but I would never change. I had to have a DNC done when I was only 22 and he made me so comfortable and was there to answer all my questions. Then as a first time mom a year later we couldnt have asked for anyone better. He answered all my questions even my 3am ones. No other doctor I know answers their phone no matter what. I started having pregnancy complications during Dr Santos daughters wedding and I still got a call back in under 10 mins. Both brothers really know their stuff. I traveled about an hour to have my son with him.As long as Dr. Gary is in practice he will be my Doctor. And I can't forget to mention that amazing staff they have working with them. Kudos to the girls for always being so helpful!!!!

:) Click to report rating    9/18/07 5 5 5 I delivered my twins early via an emergency c-section due to placenta abruption back in October 2006. Needless to say, I was scared out of my mind and thought I was going to die. Dr. Gary held my hand, kissed my forehead and told me everything would be okay...and he was right. My babies were treated like little VIPs in the NICU thanks to him as well. I now have Aetna and will pay out of pocket to go to him. Oh, gotta mention that Dr. Santo is great as well!!!!!!!!!!!!

:( Click to report rating    6/18/07 3 1 He is a ****. He is only interested in C-Sections. I was very much opposed to having a schedualed section, there was no medical reason to have one, but he decided the "baby was too big" and when I went into labor he gave me a section, the baby was a total average, regular delivery size... "oops" I guess he made his money the best way he knows how. I DO NOT RECCOMEND HIM.

:( Click to report rating    6/8/07 3 2 Dr.Fiasconaro was recomendedby another doctor but when I went to him with a problem from another doctor he try to tell me the other doctor was right until he saw that the test results show that neither him or the other doctor was right and I the patient was right because he failed to listen I guess he didnot want to get involed in the other doctor mistake. but as a professinol he needs to listen to a patient especially if the patient has proof of what she is talking about. I will not go to him again he realized he was erong when he saw the test results and then he said oooooooh! you was right to me the patient.

:) Click to report rating    5/30/07 5 5 This is my first pregnancy and I am so glad that Dr. Gary is my doctor! As one comment was posted about his alleged "EGO, EGO, EGO" I truely feel he is entitled to it. I don't find him to be that way, he is just extremely knowledgable. His bedside manner is wonderful and his staff truely is the most wonderful group of girls I have ever seen. I can not imagine myself ever using another physician.

:)      4/13/07 5 5 Seriously, you can't find a better OB/GYN. Moved to LI 9 years ago, went to 5 OB/GYN's out here who said my only solution for my problem was a hysterectomy-my problem was adhesions and a hysterectomy would have caused more adhesions-finally went back to Dr. Gary who did laparscopic surgery for the adhesions-3 times in 2005-and I still feel great. If he ever tells me that I need a hysterectomy, I know that it will be because I don't have a choice. Also, in 1997, he delivered my daughter who was born at 34 weeks-my water broke at 32 weeks, but under his great care, we went another 2 weeks until she was healthy enough-he induced me twice and tried to avoid doing a c-section. He has a fantastic sense of humor, really cares about his patients, returns calls promptly any time of the day or night, keeps on top of tests and results, and has the best office staff I have ever met. My husband is arguing with me to find a doctor out here again and I WON'T DO IT.

:)      4/6/07 4 3 STOP smoking in the office, please. He delivered my relative's baby, I found him to be a bit rude and impatient. He has that attitude, "I'm the best." Ego, ego ego

:)      2/9/07 3 4 Dr. Gary delivered both of my children (now 5 and 3) and he was great. I was induced with both and he talked me through it every step of the way. When I sought an epidural, he brought me the anesthiologist quickly. I highly recommend him. He's wonderful.

:)      2/8/07 5 5 Dr. Gary delivered my daughter 8 months ago via C-section and I never felt more comfortable. Both he and Dr. Santo were very professional yet goofy which made me laugh. I'm totally bummed now though because I switched insurance companies and it is quite unfortunate that he is not on this plan. Both my husband and I want more children but it can become quite costly when paid out of pocket. I guess I have to wait and see what happens. But I don't want another doctor!

:)      11/29/06 5 5 I began going to Dr Gary this past August when I went for my annual exam and to my surprise in October I found myself in his office once again happily to begin my obstetrical journey. I agree that he is a bit hurried in his manner, but being as busy as he is it is only to be expected. If everything is fine and normal he is in and out of the room before you can blink but if there is a problem or any amount of questions you may have he is more then willing to dedicate the time to you. I am absolutely thrilled to have him as my ob/gyn and cannot believe I didn't find him sooner. I used to work for an ob/gyn in the same area and I am quite familiar with a few practices and physicians in this area and believe me Dr Fiasconaro is the best around!

:)      11/6/06 4 3 Dr. Gary definetly rushes in and out during pregnancy visits. He is quick, which is a plus and minus. Often he was so fast during an exam that he was out of the room before I could rememeber that I had a question. He does return calls promptly. I did feel pushed to have a schedualed c-section and he told me I needed to be induced. The induction did not go so smoothly so I HAD to have a c-section in the end. I would rate my experiance and happiness with him at about 50%. I am not sure if I would use him again for another pregnancy, I will certainly look around first.

:)      10/16/06 5 4 I find DR Gary to be very quick during monthly obgyn vists if everything is going okay he pays no attention to you if there is a problem he is 100% hands on his bedside manner is just okay some visits friendly as can be some visits cold!!but I have to say I am carring my 3rd child and zi don't think I would ever change doctors.

:)      9/15/06 4 4 I agree with some of his other patients who mentioned that they usually felt rushed during routine pregnancy visits, but it was during the actual delivery when my husband and I became fans. His demeanor and personality during delivery is very different from his typically quick-witted, sometimes slightly cold banter with patients in the office. During labor, he showed us who he really was...A warm, funny, compassionate doctor and father. I'm not looking to get pregnant again as two is enough for us, but I highly recommend that you see it through with him especially if you're a little skeptical in the beginning.

:)      5/12/06 4 5 Dr. Gary is the best! He delivered both of my children. I changed insurance companies mid pregnancy, and paid the balance myself. I would never change doctors. I wish he was a general practitioner because I would trust him with any illness. He made the whole experience wonderful for myself and my husband

:)      5/11/06 4 5 I love Dr. Gary! I was a high risk pregnancy and he made sure every test was available. He explained everything about the rare disorder that I found out I had. He also delivered one child and there is another on the way. He is patient, has an excellent bedside manner and very knowledgeable. I can't recommend him enough.

:)      3/24/06 4 4 I have not been to Dr. Fiasconaro in about 6 years because I moved to Suffolk County. I had used him for over ten years. He delivered both of my children, 15 and 10 years old. I have not been happy with the MDs out here. I have actually considered going back even though it is quite a distance. He always addressed any concerns I ever had and made both pregnancies a wonderful experience. LB

:)      2/18/06 5 5 Wonderful! I delivered both my children with him (6 & 3). My second pregnancy was a nightmare, nothing but problems. Dr. Gary was there every step of the way. He called me back ASAP, answered all of my questions and I delivered a healthy baby boy. During both my deliveries his bedside manner was great. I think he's wonderful OB/GYN and wouldn't see anyone else.

:)      2/10/06 5 5 I had a difficult pregnancy and words cannot describe what Santo did for me. He is one of the most caring Dr. probably in the world. I had alot of things develop during my pregnancy and he was there for me for it all. He has a wonderful bedside manner and cares about the patient and the baby. If anyone is considering going to him please give him a shot I am sure that you will not be disappointed.

:)      1/29/06 4 5 Dr. Gary is a wonderful caring doctor. I noticed some people complained about only being seen for a minute during a preg. visit. Most doctors do the same. There really isn't a time consuming lengthy check up for your monthly or bi-monthly visit. As for his bedside manner I think it is wonderful. He delivered both of my children and I couldn't have made a better decision. I had two high risk pregnancies and he helped me through them both.

:)      12/13/05 2 3 I find Dr. Gary to be very quick and a poker face. He is not friendly or comforting. Pregnancy is a happy time but also filled with worries. He makes pregnancy seem like an illness. He is not personable at all. From people that I have spoken to and my own experience; he does push c-sections. I don't know if it's a money thing or a precausionary measure. I feel scared and anxious when I visit him. I am nervous through my pregnancy. I only answers direct questions with a serious manner. If you are pregnant, choose a more personable doctor that will make your 9 months joyful and happy.

:)      11/30/05 4 5 Although neither Gary nor Santo take my medical insurance, I pay and it is well worth it to see either of these brothers. Both have excellent bedside manners, go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, are great on calling back, and have fit me in as emergencies when I needed it. I'd prefer health insurance they accepted but to me it's worth the money. No experience with obstetrics, but I've been to a few GYN's in my day and for as long as I can help it, I'll be sticking with either of them. Also, I've referred friends there and they all come out with the same feelings that I have on these wonderful doctors. They don't make you feel uncomfortable, and I'd say the GYN practice is the HIEGHT of uncomfortable-ness.

:|      11/26/05 3 2 Although dr. gary seems nice and he is knowledgeable about obstetrics, he is very quick with his patients, while i was pregnant i would wait over an hour to see him for literally less than a minute. when asked a question, a sarcastic answer is often replied. he smokes up his office which is something you definitely do not want to smell when pg.

:)      11/7/05 5 5 dr. Gary was so wonderful I will never forget him. He put me at my ease throughout my whole high risk pregnancy and always returned calls the staff were fantastic and always remembered to ask how I was nothing was ever a problem or an issue. the birth went perfectly and the after care was the best. No hesitation in recommending this practice to anyone.

:(   *  9/9/05 2 1 He doesn't seem to care too much and he's always in a rush. No time to answer questions and he runs out of the room so fast that you literally have to grab his arm to ask him sonething. Not good for first time mom-to-be. He also seems to try to push C-sections when they are not medically necessary. I'm definitely changing docors once I deliver.

:)      7/27/05 5 5 Dr. Gary is the greatest. I have had four children delivered by him and he is there every step of the way. I have even called him in the middle of the night with a problem and he calls you right back. I had a problem with my last pregnancy and he made sure I delivered a healthy baby girl. It also helps that he looks hot in his scrubs. He is the best!!!

:)      7/15/05 5 5 I find Dr. Gary to be an outstanding doctor. I just had my second child and am thrilled to have had both Gary and Santo with me. He is very compassionate and patient. I have recommended a handful of my friends to him and each of them love him as I do. He does not take my health insurance and I dont care what it costs me, I wouldnt dream of going to another Dr. I must also commend him on his call backs. Whenever I have beeped him I have gotten a call back within minutes. How many doctors do you know that do that?

:(      6/30/05 3 1 While Dr. Gary Fiasconaro came highly recommended by our friend, we were very disappointed with him throughout the pregnancy. He does not really communicate with his patients unless you ask a very specific question. He's very impersonal and not helpful at all. While we don't argue that he may really know and understand the OBGYN field of medicine, he's still not a good doctor when it comes to comforting his patients. You're just another number on his long list of patients. I would strongly recommend another doctor who has a more personable approach. For many women, pregnancy may be a once-in-a-life-time event and it should be treated as such. It's a miracle that requires care, attention and lots of patience that unfortunately this doctor lacks.
