Dr. Gatell should NOT be practicing medicine in any way shape and or form. It's a shame if a physician loses his/her medical license, they can simply pack up and very simply look for a different state and continue their practise there. One of these days, Dr. Gatell will seriously harm one of his patients. He intimidates his patients a great deal. He personally pulled my pants down and gave me an injection and then a playful slap and then giggled then told me to meet him in his office. When I met him in his office, he said I gave him a hard on. I was so repulsed and so upset over that. That wasn't the first time though. He's seriously sick. I wanted a different medication and it turned out that specific meet, he was in a bad mood. He's the most unpredictable doctor I've ever known. He said to me if you don't "Shut up" I will not give you what you "want". He knows he has the ball in his court and he knows he can intimidate his patients with extreme ease as well as pleasure.

Dr Gatell is a charlatan. He has a lot of knowledge and sometimes he can even do a good job. But sometimes isn't enough. You wouldn't employ someone to mow your grass if he only did it "sometimes" - what if he came to mow your grass one time but set fire to your house? Well, that's Dr Gatell. He treated my wife and made a lot of wonderful promises. Oh yes, he suggested she should have more sex. He knew full well she was an alcoholic, but he prescribed her so many narcotics and other meds that she got confused all the time. So I started meting out the drugs per Rx. That made her go nuts and run away - during the time she was away he said on the phone "you can do better than her - I have a patient I can hook you up with", "why would you want someone so dumb?" and "you need to go to a judge and have her committed"! He threatened her that I would have have her committed unless she saw him and gave same Rx. She ended up in a coma with renal failure. Yet he is still allowed to practice!

Dr. Gatell spends more time with me in one visit than most "specialists" have spent in the entire 20 years that I've had my medical condition. After years of pain, unable to work or function, I finally have my life back and am returning to work!!

Dr Gatell saved my life!! After 20+ years of chronic pain following the hemorrhage of a cerebral aneurysm I had completely given up. No other doctors were willing to go any further with treatment, yet I was spending 4-5 days per week in bed and was unable to hold down a job. I began seeing him in January 2009 and as of now my meds are adjusted to the point that I rarely miss a day of my life due to pain and am actively pursuing returning to my field. Dr Gatell has no patience for those he feels is seeking only to obtain narcotic drugs from him and he does not tolerate this and loses his patience. Overall, however, he is the most caring doctor I've ever met. I have my life back now and I am so grateful to him. As for the wait time for appointments, this happens because Dr. Gatell actually spends time with his patients, usually an hour. On my first visit he spend 1 1/2 hours listening to me without very much interruption so that he could properly determine how to handle my case!!!!

DR.GATELL HAS ALLWAYS BEEN VERY POLITE HE'S ALLWAYS BEEN VERY PROFESSIONAL.BEFORE I SAW DR.GATELL MY LIFE WAS A MESS EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE WAS HELL JUST TRYING TO FUNCTION THE PAIN I WAS IN WAS UNBEARABLE HE TOOK HIS TIME WITH ME AND FINALLY CAME UP WITH THE RIGHT MEDS THAT GAVE ME A NEW START IN LIFE.I CANT SPEAK FOR THE PEOPLE THAT HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH HIM OR MAYBE THEY HAD A PERSONAL GRUDGE WITH HIM.ALL I CAN SAY I WOULD RECCOMEND HIM TO ANYONE THAT TRULY NEEDS HELP WITH THEIR PAIN LEVEL AND START A NEW LIFE.ALSO HIS STAFF IS VERY CARING AND PROFESSIONAL...THANKS FOR CARING R R.

dr.gatell should be shut down,he claims he is experienced in detox, that's bs, when i decided to stop taking pain meds for awhile,{ he was prescribing me 320 pills a month,}he did not detox me properly and i became very very ill when he gave me to much suboxone before the other opiate were out of my system. he expects his patients to kiss his ass, and if you don't you can leave as far as he is concerned. i've waitina up to 6hrs at times to be seen, very unproffessional, no doc should talk or involve his patients in his personal life, and yes he does come on to female patients, myself personally and knowledge of 2 others,he's out to make money and that's all, he just a legalized drug dealer. I would be suprised if he is still practicing.

Dr. Gatell is about to lose his medical license.He is under the care of a psychiatrist and is on meds.He is an alcoholic,and a ****.I am a young woman in my 30's.He kept telling me that I needed to have more sex and I would feel better.He also asked if I "swallowed" my husbands sperm and if I shaved my vagina.He said he liked shaved vaginas.I was literally in shock.I never went back to him.I have done my research and found out that he is treading on thin ice with the medical board.His assistant Maggie,(who is also a patient of his,which I think is unprofessional) never returns calls,lies,can't keep her story straight,begs for money and lets her whole family come in and handle patients records.She thinks that she owns the whole practice.Bottom line, Dr.G is all but gone and this joker replacement "doc in a box" could care less about anything but getting paid.He has handed out many strong narcotic meds and never once laid his eyes on the patient.I have a feeling this place is a sinking ship.

This doctor is manic depressive, not hard to figure out! One day he's nice, the next screaming and calling you names and like the other person said accusing you of all kinds of things. Refuses to return phone calls about appointments until you BEG for help. He has serious psychological problems! Does have a history of being sexual with patients according to computer info. Has cameras all over office. Refuses to take insurance and doesn't care how much you are suffering UNLESS you have the MONEY! That's what its all about! Left me on some high dosages of medicine and didn't care how I got off or continued with them. I really needed his help, but he could care less. He is on probation but I make my own decisions and he does need to be on some meds to help his mania. I would find someone else if possible. Sometimes he shows and sometimes he doesn't! He definitely is unstable!

Dr. Gatell is a wonderful doctor and has helped me to be able to function when I was bed ridden before I seen him.Also I was wanting to know if anyone knows if he is still open or not no one has answered their phone and I live out of state.Please let me know.Thanks

Dr. Gatell is a great doctor..a savior for me. My life is greatly improved because of him. He spends a lot of time with each of his clients. How many doctors do that? If he was just writing pain scripts, he would not be spending up to an hour with each patient. He is one of the few remaining doctors willing to stand up for patients rights to adequate pain medication while every other doctor cowers and succumbs to the pressures of the governments threats to investigate any doctor who dares to prescribe perfectly safe and effective narcotic pain control for real people in real pain. He specializes in drug addiction rehab as well. He DOES NOT want anyone hooked. New patients come who need help with addiction. He helps them get off the same medication he prescribes. He has to be able to weed out the drug abusers so he can treat patients that really need him. If you have been given the run around and have serious pain that can be effectively treated with pain meds, this is the doc for you.

HE CARES ABOUT PEOPLE AND PAIN, I WORK IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AND DR GATELL IS A EXPERT WHEN IT COMES TO PAIN, SOME PEOPLE MISTAKE HIS STERNESS FOR RUDENESS, BUT IN PAIN MANAGEMENT HE HAS TO PROTECT THE PATIENT AND HISSELF, I WOULD RECOMMENT HIM TO OTHERS WITHOUT A DOUBT

This guy is a joke. He's made a nice little scam for himself by passing himself off as a "pain specialist" and instantly diagnosing every single patient with fibromyalgia, without ever giving a real examination. People have to sometimes sit and wait in the office for hours, even an entire day, as he takes his time in the back oftentimes yelling at the patients so that everybody in the waiting room can hear. Then, because most of the patients who do come through his door are in a great deal of pain and do need relief, he makes sure they'll keep coming back by using a form of emotional blackmail. People are afraid of being cut off of their pain medication, so they dare not complain. There are too many bad things to write about this joker to fit in one post. He should be investigated by somebody, I don't know who, but please, somebody get this guy out of the medical field!

Look, I see the negative comments, and I know he can be a big grouch. But overall, he will improve the quality of your life. He has yelled at me before and also been the most kind and caring man too. Like someone said above, I'm a good looking woman, plus I am 29, and he has never been inappropriate (sexually) with me. But he is lonely, he's not married and has problems with his girlfriend. So if he made a mistake in a few things he said, well he's human. But, I can't see him ever sexually harassing someone constantly. And you can let a comment slide. He cares about helping his patients feel better. And when he yells at you for doing something stupid, it's because he cares. If you are patient with him and listen, he will improve your pain. He's very smart and he knows it, so let him play that role and get better! Go to him with the idea to learn and get well and there should be no problems!!!!!!!! And do what he tells you to!!!!!! He knows best with cronic pain!!!!!!

I have been an LPN for 15 years, when I first started going to Dr. Gatell I was using a 4 prone walker due to back pain, Lupus , reumatoid athritis, and fibromyalgia. Yes, you may have to wait to see him, but he spends hours with all his patients. if he is not sure of a medication, he will look it up. He is very knowledgeable about the types of pain he treats. Everyone has good and bad days but i have never seen him to be rude and I have been seeing him for over a year, almost 2. The man wants to know what is physically and emotionally wrong with you because he knows it takes both to make the right diagnosis. Stress is the major factor in pain. He is not a "drug dr". he drug tests his patients and takes the time to get to know them. He has never made a inappropriate move on me and i am 37 and not bad looking. So those accusations are totally out of place. He gave my family back there mother. Patricia Michael

This dr. was a complete nightmare! One time he lowered my meds and I asked why and he told me if I asked again he would throw me out of his office and I wouldn't be able to return. Another time he said my pain would get better if I would get a boyfriend and have an active sex life. That was the final straw. I did some checking and this guy is on probation for mishandling cases, writing the wrong prescriptions as well as "unnecessary contact with female patients". That is a quote from court papers. If you google his name, you can easily find this information online. Please, please stay away from this dr.

This is not a doctor to see if you are low income. Dr Gatell refuses to accept Medicare simply because its "too much of a hassle." Dr Gatell's manner can be friendly or downright abusive. It really depends on the day. People with chronic pain need sensitivity, flexiblity, and patience. I honestly think hes in the wrong field.

My daughter has seen this man twice but NO MORE! I went in on first visit which we waited over an hour for. Advised being taped due to some sexual charges, fine with us. He would ask a question and then get angry if you spoke. He did seem knowledgeable. Second visit we waited an hour an a half and she was unable to fill the urine test cup. He rudely said "I will take you back when you can do the test properly"! He took another patient that had just gotten there. I wanted to leave at that point as he is a VERY RUDE man. She finally got back and the first 30 minutes or so he finishes up the previous patients file. He left the room and she stood up and when he came back he accused her of stealing his RX pad!! She got terribly upset and told him to check his video and she was leaving.He then gave a sort of awkward apology. My daughter is a very sweet (never a moments trble)being accused of something like this. You just don't do that! She came to this man for help and left an emotional mess

Dr. Gatell was an answer to my prayers. He is not like every other doctor, he can be non-conventional and definitely thinks "out of the box". He REALLY cares about his patients and will do his best to take time with them and REALLY help them. I spent 9 years of being "practically abused" by other doctors and specialists who don't have time to care about their patients, Dr. Gatell is different!!! His patients LOVE him!!

Have been seeing this doctor for about seven years. This man has given me my life back!! I can now hold down a fulltime job because of his help! Cares a lot about you as a person, and not treated as a patient. Has helped me whereas other doctors just say "cannot do anything more for you". Very knowledgeable and very helpful!

Very nice Doctor and Man..Dr Gatell takes the time to find and treat you...This man will spend more time with you on your first visit than other Doctors will spend during an entire year--no teasing!!...I'm thankful I have met this man and call him friend and Doctor:)

CARING AND COMPASSIONATE, A WHOLE PERSON APPROACH TO MEDICINE, VERY PERSONABLE AND SPENDS TIME WITH YOU. EXPLAINS THINGS EXTREMELY WELL. AN AMAZING DOC IN A WORLD OF CALLUS AND DISSMISSIVE PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES HEALERS. DR GATELL IS A GREAT DR AND A GREAT PERSON.
