If you want to be condescended to, he's your guy. I felt like such an idiot when he was dealing with me, like the little lady who needed to be put in her place. I don't like going out of my way (Tarzana) to be treated like a tool. His support staff operate like drones. Although very clean and efficient, there is little "life" in this office. It was actually a very depressing place. I won't see him again.

The doctor is knowledgeable. But he does not listen to the patients. He gives you his conclusion and leaves the room. If you start asking questions, he looks annoyed. He is snobbish and condescending. But he knows what he is doing.

8/27/08 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 4 | I sought Dr. Handelsman to care for me when I became hypothyroid and continued for about a year. Although he has many credentials and is part of several associations, I'm afraid this has made him quite out of touch with relating to his patients. I felt 'talked down to' most of the time, much like a yiddish father that knows best. His staff is fine but had mixed up some lab results. The office appearance and location is great, little wait time and it was very convenient to have blood drawn in the office or right next door. I believe Dr. Handelsman probably does a better job with diabetes which appears to be his specialty. | Respond |
