great doctor,he has been a doctor to a 3 generation family for years,well up till a few years ago when I moved away,he has always been friendly, knowledgeable.

would not do a complete physical in 25 years as patient. did not diagnose serious medical problem *or attempt to solve * even though had been told of the symptoms on several visits.

The first time I met this man I had prepared a photocopy of my research and suggestions. He blasted me in front of the people in the waiting room saying "WHAT IS THIS? THIS IS A BIT MUCH DON'T YOU THINK?" I wanted to storm out and slam the door, but there were no other doctors accepting patients in Kamloops. Over time I've learned to communicate with him. Just make him believe everything is his idea and he's fine :-) Ask questions like this "Hmmm, I wonder if..." or "What can you tell me about..." rather than "This is what I think might be the problem"

Very good doctor and handsome too. Always punctual.At times I dont feel completely at ease to express my problems not sure if this is my shortcoming or feel a bit intimidated. However he has taken very good care of me. Judy does have the personality of a goldfish but she is very efficient and when one can finally accept her for the way she is it works!

I have been seeing Dr. Mabee for 26 years. He has seen me go through good and bad times and has always helped me through... if I need a referal he does not hesitate. I know Judy runs a very busy office but she could use a class in customer service skills and understand when you don't come in often, when you call there is a reason....

My family have been patients of Dr. Mabee's for 14 years. I am also an RN and have dealt with him on a professional level as well. I have nothing but good things to say about him. He listens to concerns,discusses pros and cons of treatment and refers to specialists when needed. The office has always been able to squeeze us in when we have been acutely sick. I've been really satisfied with his care.

Dr. Mabee is a great doctor. He always is cheerful and concerned. He is kind and always tries to accomodate your needs. I am happy with his care and will miss him when he retires. As for Judy> she is the most efficient MOA and knows her work! I praise her because she takes care of a busy office and trys always to make the patient feel valued. She is respectful and would do her utmost to accomodate an appointment when you need one. You rock Judy! You and Dr. Mabee are a great team!

Dr Mabee has been our family doctor for 26 years. He is friendly and helpful. Unlike many doctors, there isn't an arrogant bone in him. Whenever he lacks in knowledge (he can't know everything!) he can provide an adequate referral. He has been generous with his samples provided by the pharmaceuticals and saved us a ton of money on drugs when our children were growing. We have had disagreements where we consulted another doctor but he has never held that against us. His receptionist could learn some congeniality skills. After almost 20 years one would think it would have rubbed on her.

Dr Mabee is my husbands doctor. My husband just love him. Dr Mabee is straight forward and speaks in laymans terms so you know what he is talking about. Dr Mabee was also my Father-in-laws doctor. If it hadn't been for the home visits and compasionate care my in-laws received my father-in-law would have died many years earlier than he did. My husband is not looking forward to Dr Mabee's retirement in the next couple of years. As for Judy, that is just her personality and once you get to know her, she is known to crack a smile.

Dr. Mabee has been my Dr. for 30 plus years. I have nothing but praise for the quality of survice that I have received from him. I thank him for being delligent and caring, if he was not I would probably be DEAD.

Dr. Mabee has been my Dr. for over 25 years. Generally he is thorough and approachable, but he seems unwilling to learn about new treatment approaches for my fibromyalgia - specifically guiafenisen. I brought info in from a specialist's website, and Dr. Mabee poo-pood it... Have been somewhat dissatisfied with him ever since.

Although Dr. Mabee is a wonderful guy when you are having children, for menopause problems I would get a Dr. with more experience in this area, I think there may be a little "housewife" syndrom thinking going on.

This man is the most wonderful person I have ever met I know at least 20 people that go to him! When I was having my son I was in the hospital for 5 weeks and even though he was not my doctor at the time as I was with the materity clinic he came and saw me everyday. If you do not like hearing the truth then don't see him I hear this complaining about what a bad doctor he is I would pay money to see someone half as good here in Alberta and miss him and his humor. Doctors should be more like him hell people should be more like him! I will miss him when he no longer practices as I know that there are many people that are safer in Kamloops as long as he is caring for them

I have had the best care with Dr. Mabee. I have never had such an understanding MD. I find him very progressive and feel he keeps up to date. I do agree with other comments about Judy. She makes the visit not very pleasant. I really wonder how such a positve MD would tolerate such a sour staff member. It reflects on his practice and he should not tolerate it. Many of my friends feel the same way, we just don't get why she is still there. The best days are when Dr. Mabee's wife is there working. Then it is a fun and pleasant day. She should be there all the time

Dr Mabee is one of the rudest doctors I have ever met and I work in the health care system. He was very intimidating and mean to both my parents--fortunately they were able to find another doctor in an area where it is difficult to find a GP. He should have been reported to the College for his unprofessional behaviour.

dr mabee does not like to deal with patients that have a mental disability, he asks them to get another doctor. he doesn't seem to understand or want to tolerate people that aren't normal and have normal problems his clerk judy is very abrupt and rude. she does good work but no personality

Dr Mabee is good but sometimes you have to keep him on track or he goes off like a batam rooster. His front end girl Judy has a problem communicating with patients tho and could use some help, she can be blunt and rude even if she doesn't mean to be. And when speaking to Dr Mabee about this he won't listen. If he doesn't know about a problem he will always use the referral method which is good. If in hospital he takes a moment to say hi even if under another specialist care (pops in and out so fast tho you hardly know he's been there) If I have any problem with him its that he goes to fast and doesn't always seeem to listen as his mind goes 100 miles an hour and sometimes you have to repeat or say slow down here and listen (thank goodness I'm not afraid to do that cause I like him and would never change doctors cause I have that good raport with him) Don't ever let him retire!!!!!

Dr. Mabee has been my doctor for several years, he took me as his patient when I did not have a doctor to see in Kamloops, (I do not live in Kamloops but visit there often, now drive from the Lower Mainland for my doctor's visit with him. He is very thorough and most kind and understanding, has a grrrreat sense of humour and always makes one feel better even when they are sick. My sister also is a patient of his, and last August she went in for an appointment in alot of pain...he sent her to the specialist immediately and she was operated on the very next evening, because of Dr. Mabee they caught her cancer in time and she did not require chemo... we both feel that he saved her live and I will challenge anyone who has anything but kindness and professionalism to say about him. Thank-you Dr. Mabee for being you and always being there when needed. Heather

Helpful with my husbands heart issues. Came in for a mole removal, and discovered a murmur. He has a serious birth defect. When the specialist he first had, said it was nothing, he insisted and got him in for the proper testing. He has not dropped the ball in that. BUT I also know someone who said he is very mean about anything to do with her diabetis. Weight seems to be something he discriminates against. When you need help, he just makes you feel belittled instead of encouraged. And yes, the receptionist needs to GO... RUDE and unhappy... not an asset to his practice at all.

I've been seeing Dr Mabee for about 10 years and find him the best Doctor I have ever dealt with. Dr Mabee is very understanding and very easy to talk to.I would recommend him as a MD to all my friends and family.

This man was my mother and father's doctor since we moved here 30 years ago. He is the most compassionate man I have ever met. He takes the time to deal with not only the symptoms but with his patients feelings. Awesome doctor. Keep up the good work.

Dr Mabee is awesome. I fired my previous doctor, he took me in and dealt with my issue quickly and got me feeling better. Dr Mabee Rocks, if more doctors were like him BC Healthcare wudnt be such a mess. Thank-you for caring.

wonderful Doctor. The best in fact. But.....he has a nurse that is just plain nasty. I wonder how many of us put up with being sick longer than needed because the thought of having to call and speak with her is enough to make you not.

Mr. Mabee is a really nice person, however, I would agree that he is not thorough. I know of a patient who complained about breathing concerns numberous times (especially during coughs and colds). She was made to feel like she was making everything up. She was later tested for serious asthma! I also know of another patient going to him continuously for symptoms that were ignored....and later turned out to be something huge.

Dr Mabee has been known to ignore symptoms in his patients. I had survived breast cancer and 8yrs later went to him for a sore back.. he ignored me for 2 yrs, told me I was hypercondriac.. the pain turned out to be bone cancer! Another friend of mine went to him for anxiety and asked if he should be concerned about having a heart attack or stroke.. Dr said no way,,, within a month this 47yr old had a heart attack. Another friend was ignored for some time and later was diagnosed with Cervical cancer. There may be plenty more. He may put on a good show, but he is not thorough!
