24/07/13 1 1 1 1 The doctor is good but, her secretary Giovana is a total unprofessional jerk that is rude and thinks she is a doctor as well. She should seriously be fired, one of my close friends had a surgery with Dr. Tchervenkov and she didn't even call her back for a check-up because Giovana never put called her. The result was that the cancer spread and she had to go do a second surgery to remove everything. And all this because of a disorganized secretary!  Respond

14/04/13 1 2 5 5 I have been a patient of Dr. S. Tchervenkov for 20 years. I always called in early April for my routine pap smear and was surprised to find out (for the first time in all the years I have been a patient) that she was fully booked. Her assistant advised me to call back on October 1st for a potential appointment in November. Perhaps Dr. Tchervenkov is quite satisfied with how her assistant manages her schedule despite how she communicates with some patients.

04/07/12 1 1 4 4 DR.TCHERVENKOV IS A GREAT OBGYN...I DON'T HAVE ANY COMPLAINTS WITH HER...YES SHE'S VERY BUSY AND BARELY HAS TIME FOR YOU WHEN YOU NEED TO ASK EXTRA QUESTIONS BUT THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE OF HER SECRETARY. IF GIOVANNA WOULD BE DOING HER JOB AND NOT SPENDING HER DAY ONTHE PHONE DISCUSSING HER PERSONAL LIFE WITH EVERY TOM DICK AND HARRY THAT CALLS THEN DR.TCHERVENKOV WOULD HAVE MORE TIME. SHE'S A POOR EXCUS OR A HUMAN BEING WHO THINKS THAT WORKING OR AN OBGYN MAKES HER AN OBGYN. YOU CAN NEVER GET AN APPOINTMENT UNLESS YOU'RE PREGNANT. EMERGENCY APPTS DO NOT EXIST FOR HER. SHE ACTUALLY SAYS TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY. SHE IS RUDE, OBNOXIOUS AND DISRESPECTFUL TO EVERYONE, EXCEPT HER FAVORITES. BEST THINK THAT EVER HAPPENED WAS WHEN SHE BROKE HER LEG AND WE GOT TO MEET A WONDERFUL SECRETARY WHO HAPPENED TO BE DR.TCHERVENKOV'S DAUGHTER. TOO BAD HER LEG HEALED SO QUICKLY..OH WELL KARMA'S A **** AND SHE'LL GET HERS WITH HE ROTTEN ATTITUDE. SHE IS NOT A HUMAN BEING AND DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE WITH OTHERS  Respond

15/07/11 4 1 5 4 Great prenatal care for my 3 pregnancies. Alas she wasn't around for actual births, but did come to visit me in my room the following morning and continued with my postnatal care. Patient, friendly, very helpful when I happened to have a horrible cold when I last saw her for a check-up and prescribed me treatment. Yes the wait time can be long, but I think that's standard for OBGyns. Just avoid times when she traditionally sees her OB patients and catch up on your magazines. I found Dr. T to be very flexible in 1998 when I was waiting to have a D&C for heavy menstruation and I needed emergency gall bladder surgery. She arranged to have both surgeries done at the same time under general anaesthesia. Any time you can avoid general anaesthesia it's ideal. I like Giovanna, her secretary, very friendly and down to earth. Just wish there wasn't the pressure to pay for a private PAP test - I got the sense that my test would be forgotten by SMH.  Respond

03/02/11 5 5 5 5 Saved my life twice;first by insisting I see a cardiologist of her choice and knowledge, who had quad bypass done and saved me from a certain death and referred me to a cancer specialist for surgery for uterine cancer and gave me a great referal for a cosmetic breast surgery that changed my life for the better. Forever grateful to her and her staff. Great attitude in the office.  Respond

28/07/10 1 1 1 1 I don't know how competent this doctor is as an ob, but she is a terrible and dangerous gynecologist. Every year, I went for my check-up, but she barely took 5 minutes to do a very superficial examination, ONLY a pap smear, NO internal palpation of the organs, she did not even make me take off my bra for the breast exam. Two months after my appointment, I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer (the initial tumour was huge!). She could have saved my life had she done her job. Stay away from this callous, unprofessional person! Your life depends on it...  Respond

01/04/10 3 3 1 1 was induced with my 1st child which lasted 2 days...many doctors and nurses checked me but she was a barbaric beast! she was the only one that made me cry out in pain. she was annoyed when she got to the room and i was relieving myself. and then when she wanted to break my water...i asked if it was really necessary (because i wanted to wait it out so i could progress more and also when u break the water when the baby is not quite into position it's not good) and she immediately got pissed off...she was talking towards the window instead of to my face...my husband got irritated that she was mistreating me...and he told her that i asked a simple question and if it was NOT allowed to ask her questions...needless to say...she stormed off..said she i would not have my baby on her watch and removed my oxytocin (inducing medicine) so i had to wait 6 hours for the next dr to restart all over again! the nurse was being switzerland..but she agreed with us...RETIRE useless doctor who hates women!  Respond

08/04/09 1 1 5 5 DR.THERVENKOV IS AMAZING TO ME. SHE TAKES TIME AND IS VERY HELPFUL AND RESPECTFUL IN ALL SITUATIONS. HER SECRETARY GIOVANA HOWEVER IS MEAN AND HORRIBLE AND RUDE AND DISGUSTING. THAT'S WHAT MAKES GOING THERE UNPLEASANT!!!!!! WHAT SHE DESERVES IS TO BE FIRED WITH A SLAP IN THE FACE--- AND GOOD LUCK GETTING AN APPOINTMENT WHEN SHE IS IN ONE OF HER MOODS ACTUALLY SHE IS ALWAYS IN "ONE" OF HER MOODS...FAKES LAUGHING (A LOT) TO COVER THE MEANNESS SO SHE CANNOT BE ACCUSED OF ANYTHING... IN FRONT OF THE DOCTOR SHE PLAYS SO SWEET...UGH... SHE HAS HER FAVORITE CLIENTS I HAVE WITNESSED AS I AM A PATIENT OF 6 YEARS...AND HAVE WAITED HOURS IN THE WAITING ROOM-LIKE 2-3 HOURS MINIMUM...IN FRONT OF THE DOCTOR OF COURSE FRIENDLY AGAIN ALWAYS LAUGHING, BUT IS A WITCH WHEN NOT BEING OBSERVED BY THE DOCTOR- EXAMPLE ON THE PHONE. SHE CAN BE A LITTLE MORE THAN SUBSTANDARD - UNLESS YOU SUCK UP BIG TIME, OR YOUR NAME IS TRUDEAU OR YOU BRING HER PRESENTS! BEWARE!!!!!  Respond

09/03/09 5 3 5 5 I LOVE HER, I LOVE HER, I LOVE HER. She delivered 3 out of my 4 kids. I would wait 4 hours in her waiting room if I had to. I don't understand the negative comments on here. WOW! I trust her with my life. She is a fantastic person, doctor. Been with her for 14 years, I hope she never retires. As far as I am concerned doctors in Quebec are underpaid - she deserves a lot more. Always made me smile, laugh. Very funny lady, GREAT sense of humour. Love her secretary and her anecdotes, advice and energy.  Respond

29/08/08 1 1 1 1 The secretary likes to play doctor. She is also inappropriate with issues of confidentiality. The Doctor is a nightmare. Your only alternative with her is to get a hysterectomy and she does not like to be challenged. In a recent hospital stay I was stunned when every nurse and resident that dealt with me told me to find another doctor. She has no bedside manner to speak of.  Respond

04/06/08 5 4 3 4 Overall a nice women but absolutly in it for the money, not because she wants to support women's issues or because she wants your birth experience to be a memorable one. She is not a forward thinker, EXTREMELY mainstream, doesnt stand out in any way. She doesnt support VBAC and uses fear tactics to get you to do things her way. If you are someone who just trusts everything a doctor says than you might like her but if you are a women who informs yourself and is looking to have an empowering birth experience, avoid this doctor.Staff was nice, only an hour behind.  Respond

20/02/08 1 1 1 1 Initially I was under the impression that she was friendly however upon my second appointment I discovered her and her staff are rude, disorganized, unpunctual and am glad not to have discovered this darker side in a time of need. After waiting three hours because of a mixup which I pointed out several times to the receptionist I was asked why I came if I didn't need a pap test even though I have a history of breast cancer in my family and would assume there is more to an annual. Her exam was rushed and crude to the point where I wish I had the time and patience to take her to court just to make a point. Finding this website was a long needed outlet. Both my parents are in medicine and I fully understand the weight that is placed on doctors, nurses and administrative staff but this woman is a real insult to the industry!  Respond

14/02/08 3 2 1 2 Not our ob-gyn but she ended up delivering our first child. She was extremely rude. Mocked my wife when she said she didn't want episiotomy. Then made a huge cut. (I'm sure she did it out of anger. We formally complained but of course nothing came of it. (The system protects their own.)  Respond

09/09/07 1 3 1 2 I had a horrible experience with her when she delivered my second child. She was the only one on duty. She was so rude and mean that I even asked for another doctor. She said," If you don't stop moving, I'll leave you like this." She said this while stitching me up. I had just given birth with an ineffective epidural and two years later I'm still bleeding from where the stitches were done. I've made a formal complaint, but of course all they said was sorry for the miscommunication.  Respond

19/06/07 4 4 4 Until I became a patient of Dr. Tchervenkov's 13 years ago, I thought the words "relax", "stop moving" and "lay still" were required components of every obgyn's vocabulary. Her warmth and understanding, as well as her very welcoming waiting room make the longer waiting times much more acceptable.  Respond

06/04/07 3 5 5 I have been seeing Dr. Sophia since the mid 1980s and after having seen over 8 obgyns who all told me that I was crazy and was "supposed to suffer because I was a woman" or "all women suffer like this" she was the only one who actually believed that there was actually something wrong and indeed found that I have a fibroid tumor and was able to help me control the pain I suffered every month to the point where I was on the floor curled up in agony. Certain other obgyns, despite my asking if they could to a laposcopy to see just brushed off my concerns. Yes, at times Dr. Sophia can be abrupt and hurried but it is probably cause she is worrying about another patient. Don't we all have off days? I will continue to go to her forever.  Respond

29/03/07 1 5 5 Yes you can expect to wait 1/2 hour or more. You need to book an appointment first thing in the morning, or first appointment after lunch. Other than that, she is an excellent doctor. I had two miscarriages and two ectopic pregnancies, she really was very empathetic and caring. When I finally had a successful pregnancy, she followed me very closely and took very good care of me. I recommend her to everyone. Thank you Dr Tchervenkov for everything.  Respond

22/03/07 4 5 5 very good doctor, took her time with me and answered all my questions. Will definetely reccomend her. Punctuality - well, if she's late - that only means she's either in the hospital delivering our babies or taking her time with us during a consultation. For me it's much more important then waiting an hour or so on some ocations.  Respond

08/03/07 5 5 5 I switched to Dr. Tchervenkov mid-way through my pregnancy after a horrific experience with another OB, and it was the best decision I could have made! She treats you like a person - with real concerns and real fears - and left me confident and assured that my daughter's birth would go as well as it possibly could. If only I could find a GP that I respect as much!  Respond

19/01/07 1 4 5 She's OK by my standards. I agree with other comments that she can be OFF on days, and tends to brush off your questions and make you feel like you're wasting her time. But other times, just great. The worst : up to 2 hours late.  Respond
