:( Click to report rating    3/18/09 1 1 1 I almost went crazy with pain and still have it a lot of times.-A simple operation was very complicated with fistulas and infections after.-I almost lost everything I own after not being able to work and finding that banks insurance companies and power companies don't care.- I endured over a dozen trips to the ER and never saw him once.- Someone else took over my problem that is still ongoing, but at least i can work.- 4 long years I suffered, unable to work losing sight and hope. And all because I trusted someone to posess the precision and talent that he was supposed to provide.- The last visit with him he made my girlfriend cry.-Infection? It was a living nightmare, living alone,(however i did have a support team extrordinaire, but they were not there all the time)Sick to the max and stressed to the max, with my strong will I survived. Been 7 years now, old news, food for thought. It's obvious I am not alone here. But what can be done now? I will never forget this man, wish I could.

:( Click to report rating    10/18/08 1 1 1 I can't believe this guy is allowed in a Hospital. My Aunt went into the hospital on a Sunday with extreme pain in her abdomen after she had not had a bowel movement in a few days. She was seen by Dr. Palmer who did not recognize her problem. She went into cardiac arrest that Wednesday and was revived. She went into surgery immediately after and unfortunately for her and my family, was operated on by this quack. Turns out she had a perforrated bowel and went into septic shock after her surgery with Dr. Palmer. Went to the ICU and died the following Wednesday as a result of her unfortunate meeting with Dr. Palmer. He did not recognize her problem, which I understand was very treatable with a knowledgable Dr. And as a result of his sloppy surgery, caused her to go into septic shock and die. She was healthy prior to going into the hospital. If you ever need surgery and this guy is on call, walk, crawl or be pushed out of that place to another Hospital. It would be worth the risk

:( Click to report rating    6/27/08 3 2 1 After almost 15 years I still have issues thinking about this man and what he did to my mother and I. After giving me Demoral to kill the paid, 5 mins later he decided to not cut, but RIP my absess apart and when I screamed out in pain he said "this isn't the maturnity ward" threw the gauze on and walked out. My mother ended up having to clean me up enough to get me out the door. Everyone knows the Dem. takes at least 20 minutes to kick in. Luckly my mother worked in this environment and could clean me up and get me to her car. I still had puss running down my legs as I was walking out! HORRIBLE doctor. My own doctor even said he would not have sent me had he known he was on call.

:( Click to report rating    8/10/07 1 1 1 This poor surgeon has more infections after surgery than you can shake a stick at! Do not use this surgeon! He should hand in his license and work at something else - like landscaping where he can't kill people.

:) Click to report rating    6/21/07 5 3 I had surgery done by Dr. Robert Palmer three years ago. He was very eccentric at that time, maybe it should be called wierd, but nonetheless, he did a great job and I was happy with the results. I saw him recently about a similar problem and found him very hard to follow, off in la-la land, distracted and arrogant. I understand every one goes through bad times in their life and I think this might be his.

:( Click to report rating    4/1/07 1 1 Run don't walk from this maniac. If you ask around most medical professionals will steer you away from him. His post-op care is almost non-existent. My son almost died in his care from his negligence. His refusal to monitor even the most obvious symptoms ie: very high fever, bowel distension, very low haemoglobin, extreme pain resulted in a 2 months stay in hospital after surgery. His suggestion was to give him some chocolate b/c that makes every one feel better. A nurse called in another surgeon after he left one day b/c of his refusal to investigate. What a moron. He is full of himself to the point of nausea. At first he seems caring but then it becomes obvious he is just blowing his own horn. What a jerk. He can't seem to accept that just because he is involved does not mean complications occur. Our family has an inside joke that we'll all get tattoo's stating: Dr. Robert Palmer hand's off. Keep running people.

:) Click to report rating    3/20/07 5 5 Dr. Palmer is extremely caring, empathetic, a great listener and one of the kindest persons I have encountered in the medical field. He has done many surgeries for me and I personally am grateful for his outstanding skills and sense of logic. He has a way of making one feel, you are his only patient. In addition, to being with the patient prior to undergoing anesthetic in the OR, he has always been there for me in the recovery room to give comfort and encouragement. I really do not know how I could deal with more surgery not having him as my Doctor. May you continue to be there for many, many years to come, Dr. Palmer and thank you.

:) Click to report rating    3/18/07 4 5 Everyone is allowed their opinion, and from working in the hospital I can say there are many who feel Rob is eccentric & and bizzare, but I owe this man my life. He has done all my surgeries except one, and has always been nothing but kind, generous, caring, there when I need him, able to call him at home if necessary, makes time for me when needed, with meet me in the ER on a days notice. All my Drs are terrific, and Rob is one of them. I was rushed into emergency bowel surgery, and the last thing I remember before going under was Rob sitting beside my bed, holding my hand, and rubbing my head telling me that it would be ok, that he would be right beside me when I work up, and he was. He was the frist thing I saw when I opened my eyes, considering I didn't think I would make it through the surgery. Every Dr has some faults, but that doesn't make them a bad Dr. Rob is one of the best surgeons in the city, right along Trish Bryden. I would let him work on me without a 2nd thought

:) Click to report rating *  2/19/07 5 5 I was under Dr. Palmer's care after an emergency gall bladder surgery in 1998. He was extremely informative and was available for questions at any time. I felt at ease with him and felt he had genuine concern for me as his patient. I highly recommend him.
