overbilled even though I had insurance the OOP was exorbitant, (even Blue Cross said so)--I made pmts faithfully on the outrageous balance, then they change their billing system and suddenly demand payment in full or collections. When you ask to speak to the manager the poor hapless waif on the phone (who can't be more than 23) says "I am the manager." Then you ask to speak to her boss, she says "Daniel Taheri is the boss but he will just refer you back to me" and so it goes. Anyone who goes to this guy is nuts there are reputable doctors out there who are fair and equitable with their billing practices...his staff must be busy fielding all the negative comments on the site right now.

A nightmarish Botox experience and I incurred an additional expense to go to a different doctor. I am in my late 20's. The following side effects persisted: one eyebrow was higher, my forehead had many more wrinkles, eyelid drooping, deep dark circles below my eyes, painful headache. The office was packed before Christmas. First, Dr. Taheri rushed in alone, and began injecting without consulting my chart. His pupils were dilated, and it is in my opinion that he was impaired for some reason. When done, I asked him why he failed to do the furrow. He looked at my chart for the first time, made a stab at this area and ran away.
I have been informed by another doctor that 10 injections are needed along the brow area to prevent eyelid drooping. Dr. Taheri never informed me of those side effects.
When I called him next week, he said, "you can contact your grandmother for all I care!" It is my opinion that Taheri is a perhaps reckless and greedy doctor taking money from unwitting women.

As a long term non-believer in phony Dermatologists I couldn’t have been happier after my experience with Dr. Taheri. He is an extremely educated Doctor with a very sincere and honest manner. Dr. Taheri completely renewed my faith in the practice and I would no longer trust another with my skin.
I can’t speak on the front desk staff as I have not run into problems- as of yet. However, his assistant was extremely sweet and also very professional. I would say even if the front desk operated poorly I would still highly recommend Dr. Taheri. Sometimes… you gotta take a little bad to get all the good.
Parking is a breeze at this office (major plus for LA!).

I will NEVER go back to Dr. Taheri.HE NEVER bothered telling to bleach my skin 4 wks before coolaser procedure!NEVER asked me if I had questions. His staff NEVER were able to answer any of my questions and did not even know what bleaching cream was!The day of procedure the Dr forgot he had an appt and he left! His staff called his cell# many times b4 he came back (1 hour later)He came back mad at his staff and was about to do a strong chemical peel instead of the coolaser..he NEVER even read my chart!I knew he was doing a half fast job because he was late for his other appt. His intern had to correct him.NEVER apologized for being late and left RIGHT after procedure. His staff had no idea what to do with me!My skin was bright red and Dr forgot to give me a prescription for pain killers.HE NEVER, not once did he or his staff call the next day as a courtesy call.I NEVER heard from him again.Dont know about everyone else but if I'm paying $3,000, I think I deserve some info and respect!!!!!!!

I went to this Dr over 2 yrs ago for a rash that I had on my upper thigh. He insisted I had to have a biopsy, I figured it would be a teeny tiny cut. The local anesthetic shot was terribly painful and I dont think it helped at all because I felt everything when he cut a big deep chunk out of my skin with the scalpel. It was so shocking and excruciating, I literally screamed at the top of my lungs. I still have a scar that is about the size of a big sunflower seed. To add insult to injury, I paid for my visit in cash, and then continued to receive bills. I didnt feel like fighting, since I had lost the receipt and documentation of my payment. So I sent the payment again. They still continue to bill me to this day. I have been encountering more and more greedy Drs and Im so fed up with it. Thanks to docs like him, I've reached a point where I wont go to the dr., even if I need to.

I agree with the rest. He is money hungry and his staff is completely incompetent. I waited for over an hour, his nurse was gruff and rude one time and the next time a different nurse was so stupid I thought she might be legally retarded. When I called to mention that the nurse had missed about 50% of my face, the staff did not even say sorry or make an excuse.

This is the most money hungry doctor in LA I ever saw. He is overcharging his patients and wrongly bills insurance companies. Be very careful when dealing with this office. His staff is the most rude, unprofessional bunch of people I ever saw. He very seldom does any procedures himself. He removed cyst on my back almost 2 years ago and I ended up with a literally red hole on my back with a lot of scar tissue. I went back few times to correct this problem and he billed insurance for surgeries and billed me as well. I am seriously considering filing complaint with the board. Do not use him. For all cosmetic procedures there a lot of excellent doctors around.

Dr. Taheri failed at every laser treatment he did on me. He'd try to fix one problem and create new ones I'd have to pay to correct. He severely scarred my nose. He SEVERELY burned my hands and took no responsibility. He removed papers of procedures from my file. I pre-paid almost $3000 worth of procedures, and after he burned me, he verbally abused me, kicked me out as a patient, and refused to refund my money. He also tried to force me to sign away my rights in exchange for refunding my money. I took the dispute to my credit card company, and got my money back 9 months later, despite his efforts at manipulating my file (which they didn't give me for 2 1/2 months) by removing treatments, and changing his story to say I'd used up the money, making it my word vs. his. His office is a mill, and he has no concern for his patients. I have filed a lengthy complaint with the medical board which is under review. I'm the only one who's filed so far and I hope to inspire others to do the same.

I have been going to Taheri for 2 years now and love him! I don't know what to think of all the harsh criticism. He is kind, caring and has helped my acne tremendously! The staff is always friendly and they all have done a great job when I get my monthly chemical peel and micros. (Alma is great for a micro!) He is the best doctor I have had for acne (BY FAR!!!) and is content with me not wanting to take medications and treat my acne through micros and peels.

Please read this before going to Dr. Daniel Taheri's office. I have been patient of the Dr. for almost 2 years so I am shocked that I am now writing this message. Dr. Taheri is only concerned about money and give a sh*t about the results he achieves. After he was questioned about a procedure that was performed and the lack of results achieved he became verbally abusive and extremely condescending. It was obvious that he did not care at all and was annoyed that someone would question him. After telling him that he would no longer be the dermatologist of choice he basically walked out of the room and left. He never once showed any sympathy about how badly the procedure went and did nothing to try and solve the problem. This Dr. is bad news and should be avoided. I have lived on the Westside for 10 years and have never met a Dr. like this. DO NOT GO TO DR. TAHERI!!!!!! You will regret it and could be left with permanent skin damage.

I have seen Dr. Taheri twice for skin cancer removal. The first was on the side of my nose and I was terrified because I had gone to another doctor who told me I would be hospitalized and have to have skin grafted from my backside. I teach at a college and was very concerned about being disfigured. Yes, I have waited long to see him, but it was worth it. He was kind, reassuring and did a fabulous in-office MOH's surgery that left a thin, almost unnoticeable scar in the crease of my nose. That was in 2001. This year I again went to him for skin cancer on my cheek under my eye. Again he did a fantastic job- there literally is no visible scar. I had to drive three hours each way and stayed overnight so that I could have him do the operation. He is wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to go to him again.

WORST UNPROFESSIONAL DOCTOR YET! I've been a patient of Dr. Taheri's for over a year and every single time there is at least a 30 minute wait. Medical assistants (not even nurses) do most of the procedures and even sign his prescriptions..is that even legal? He sees you for one minute, tells a medical assistant to give you a peel and moves on to the next patient. Receptionists are generally rude, especially the office manager. He does however bill facials (supposedly "acne surgery") under my insurance so I will continue going to him. I agree with most comments about him being MONEY HUNGRY because 1) he only recommends products from his own personal line 2) recommends costly lasers rather than medications and 3) only spends more than a minute with you if you are getting any cosmetic procedures done (more $$$). Word of advice: if you get a peel or injections, stay away from Milcer (has no clue what she's doing) and definitely request Naomi ..definitely the best medical assistant he has!

Worst experience I have ever had! I first went to Dr. Taheri in '05 because I was getting pimples, which he determined was adult acne. That my insurance would cover 1 microdermabrasion a month and recommended laser as well. Jump ahead to today, when I arrive at the office for my regularly scheduled micro appt. I am informed I need to see the Dr. Fine. When he came into the room he basically attacked me verbally, asking why I hadn't seen him since '05? He asked me if I had acne. I explained that this is what he had told me, and this was the course he had put me on. I explained that I had never been told otherwise, or ever been told I needed to meet with him again. He didn't attempt to look at my skin, only insulted me, called me sweetheart repeatedly in a condescending manner. To be honest, I wanted out of the room immediately. I was never informed of options by him or his staff other than what was determined on my first meeting with him. It is scary he is in business!

I had botox at Dr. Taheri's office and was disappointed in the results. The botox did not last a week and they refused a touch up unless I paid again. It had been a few years since I went here after I felt they bilked my insurance company for rocacea laser which did nothing for my problem. On the other hand, the doctor who was there last time (not Dr. Taheri) helped cure my husband's dandruff.

I just would like my insurance to just pay him and quit questioning waht the heck was done in the office. If there is any problems its with my insurance. Aetna sucks!!!!!!!

After having seen many doctors for my acne with no answers or results he came in - looked at me for an instant- and got me on meds that are working great. Don't expect him to spend a lot of time with you, he's def always rushed. His being rushed and running behind on appts is annoying, but its far better than going to someone who can't diagnose you. I consider the 15 extra minutes I wait a drop i nthe bucket when compared to the 4 years I endured bad skin.

About 7 years ago I had over 100 unnecessary stiches and am left with the horrible scars that will now remind me of a money hungry doctor. Long story short, I had mutiple moles biopsied and per him they were cancerous cells that needed to be removed. I was 17 years old and was scared to death that I had melenoma and that I would be dealing with forever because I had so many moles. Time and again another one "LOOKED SUSPICIOUS" and it soon became a scar. I thought this was what I had to deal with. I finally had enough and stopped going (for years), even though Taheri said there were more to get rid of. Well thank god I did! I just got back from an appt with a new doctor. I told him I went to Taheri and this is what he said "I am sorry, but all of your scars are unnecessary. Dr Taheri is money hungry and I am 99% sure that that your moles were fine. They look fine and no need for any biopsies!" If you are going to Taheri,do yourself a favor and get a second opinion.I sure wish I did!

Dr. Taheri All of my experiences with Dr. Taheri and his office have been negative. After waiting forever and watching other patients who arrived after me, be seen first, I receive a whole 2 minutes from Dr. Taheri. During that time I was lectured and told I had too much testosterone. What?!!! The medicine he prescribed had nothing to do acne. To make matters worse I called ahead to speak with office staff in regard to my insurance but they still billed the incorrect company and now I have to pay for treatment I never received. Dr. Taheri and his staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. I do not care how many degrees he has, he has no bed side manner what so ever.

The guy is definitely a money-grubbing scoundrel who puts the amount of customers he sees over treatment of them. I waited for over an hour and finally saw him for less than a minute! If you notice the reactions to bad ratings all seem like they are pretty vague on what he does well, like someone who works for him is writing this stuff. By the way,the nurse who saw me was just hired, and she didn't have any medical experinece other than this office. My acne rosacea is not any better, and he wanted to do laser that didn't work before, and ignored my request for medications. I had to ask three times at the front desk for my perscription, and then it was written out by an assistant (the nurse I saw). I feel very uneasy about ever going back...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! WAITED AN HOUR BEFORE SEEN! FINALLY MET DR. TAHERI, AND HE WAS A FLAKE. TREATED ME LIKE A CHILD WHO HAD NEVER HEARD OF ACNE WHEN I HAVE ALREADY HAD MANY TREATMENTS. I COULD HAVE TAUGHT HIM SEVERAL THINGS ABOUT THE SUBJECT HE SPECIALIZES IN. I SPENT $120 FOR HIM TO TELL ME WHAT THE DEFINITION OF ACNE IS. HE GAVE ME EXACTLY 1 MINUTE 38 SECONDS OF HIS TIME. HE RECOMMENDED A LASER I HAVE ALREADY TRIED IN THE PAST WHICH DID NOT WORK. A TRUE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! YOU CAN GET MUCH MORE HELP FROM A DICTIONARY. THE STAFF HONESTLY KNEW MORE THAN HE DID. HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A PUPPET WITH DEEP POCKETS. THANKS FOR NOTHING!!

Huge Scar. In the middle of my chest from the photo laser. It has been a few years now and it has never gone away. Dr. Taheri pretended he would help, but he was just putting me off. Finally, he told me to go get a "permanent tattoo" to cover it up. Those can actually look worse, so I live with this hideous scar.

I am extremely disappointed with this office. I have had nothing but bad experiences including getting burned. Dr. Taheri has no clue what goes on with his laser patients. It seems like he only cares about money, not the well being of his patients. The office is ALWAYS running behind schedule making people wait 30-45 mins. before they can be seen and then rushed out because the next victim needs to be seen. I highly dislike the way this office operates. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

He graduated at the top of his class at UCLA med school. He has writeen a few books and given many speeches, if you don't believe me just google him. His staff is very nice and friendly. His is always on time and fun to deal with. My sister and I both go to him and we wouldn't go to anyother dermatologist. I went to many different doctors and no one was able to help me out as much as Dr. Taheri. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

I went to see this doctor and was met by a member of his staff, who told me the doctor wasn't in the office today. I went in for a full body check, and told that I had rosacea, and that my insurance would pay for me to have laser treatments to remove it and make my skin look better. When I called my insurance company to verify this claim, they told me that people of my descent (dark-skinned) almost never have rocacea. I went to another dermatologist is Carson City because I didn't trust the Taheri people, and they told me I didn't have rosacea at all. When I got my bill, I was charged for an office visit when I never saw the doctor, seems like a scam.

Dr. Taheri is one of the best dermatologist i have ever had. He knows exactly what to do and doesn't waste your time. I went in for active acne and acne scars. I am so happy about the results, he lasered my skin himself and did follow ups on me when necessary. His staff is really nice and carying. If you need to get shots, ask for Fay, you wont even feel anything.. Laser: Heidi is the best. Chemical peel: Megan... They all do amazing jobs!. My mom went in for Botox.. it looks really good. His prices for laser and botox are really good compared to other Dr's I've been to. I can only recomend him! 3 of my friends went to him and loved him... notices everything!

This is the most unhelpful, money hungry, uncaring practice i have ever seen. The doctor is not so busy because he is amazing. in fact he is not knowledgeable at all. His staff are the ones who typically take care of patience, NOT the actual doctor. The only thing this office cares about it making money, and seeing as many patience in one hour as humanly possible. HORRIBLE PRACTICE

I went in to get botox around my eyes. I usually see Dr. Taheri. I was never told when I made the apptmt that I would be seeing a different DR. I saw female DR who was 8 months pregant at the time. She did not know how to inject botox in the inner corner of the eye to relax the wrinkles as DR. Taheri has done several times for me. She also injected me so close on the lower part of my right eye that it completely filled with blood. I have had a black eye for over two weeks now. When I called the Drs office to speak with Dr. Taheri. I was not able to and was just told to take arnica and that it would go away in 5 days. No one followed up or had any care at all. I would not recommend going to his office. If something happens he does not stand behind his work or his practice.

I THINK DR TAHERI IS AN EXCELLENT DR AND IS A VERY CARING DERMATOLOGIST. HE MAY BE VERY BUSY BUT IT IS BECAUSE HE IS SO IN DEMAND!! DR TAHERI WILL NEVER TURN AWAY A PATIENT AND SOME PEOPLE MAY SAY ITS BECAUSE OF THE MONEY AND THATS NOT TRUE!!!!! HE IS VERY EDUCATED AND SOMETIMES HE MAY NOT GET TO SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS THE PATIENT WOULD LIKE THEY ALWAYS GET THE RIGHT DIAGNOSIS. HE IS BUSY BUT DONT MISTAKE THAT AS INSENSITIVE OR MONEY HUNGRY.HE CARES FOR ALL OF HIS PATIENTS AND TRIES HIS BEST TO PLEASE THEM.

spends no more than a minute with each patient because he has to see 50 other patients in the same hour. this is a factory assembly line, not a doctor's office. only cares about money and billing, not your health

HE SCARRED ME AND WON'T FIX IT! Dr. Taheri talked me into IPL and the first time they did it to me, it left a huge scar in the middle of my chest. I have sent him certified letters and he won't return them. I has been over 2 years and now I feel very victimized. Maybe it is my "karmic payback" for allowing him to charge cosmetic procedures to my insurance, and now every morning when I look in the mirror or anytime I see a picture of myself I am reminded to be an ethical person.

I have visited Dr. Tehari's office maybe 6 times over the course of 2 years and I have never even met the guy. The last time I went, they asked if I "wanted to see the doctor?". I said yes. Instead of seeing Dr. Taheri, I saw Dr. Raj. She removed a number of moles for biopsy...none of them positive. My friend's doctor has a 90% accuracy. If she removes skin for biopsy, then most likely it is positive. With this in mind I assumed one of mine would come back positive. None of them did. Don't get me wrong, I am happy they are negative, I just can't help but wonder if it was a money making procedure. I have had the feeling in the past they were bilking the insurance companies. I don't need extra scars to fatten their wallets. His credentials are on the wall, yet he is never there. Maybe he is a good doctor, but I wouldn't know since I have never seen him in the 2 years I have been going.

Terrible doctor- came in and looked at my spots, told me I needed IPL for rosacea, and left. Medical assistant tried to hassle me into making an appointment, saying that insurance would cover it- what a crook!

I have been seeing Dr. Taheeri for years. He has treated me mostly for skin cancer performing mohs surgery. He has always been professional, helpful and alleviated my problems. I find his bedside manner encouraging and his knowledge vast. I have recommended him to co-workers, friends and family. I will continue to do so. Thank you Dan.

I guess sometimes you go to a dermatologist and have a concern and he sees other things that you may want to be concerned about. For me, he made me aware of dry patches and a few bumps that I hadn't noticed on my face. A few turned out to be basel cell cancer the other pre-cancer. One basel cell was on my sinus wall and that's when you appreciate his concern for you skin, and his knowledge in Mohl surgery. He was great, saved my nose and maybe more if it had gone farther. Thanks a lot!!

I love Dr. Taheri!!!! Maybe the others who think tha the was too busy, is not a very assertive person. if you don't waant the Dr. to go then tell him to stop... you have some more ?'s for him??? Don't blame the Dr. for you not answering, your questions...what, the Doc asked you anything eles..and you said...no!! Then complainewd that he was too quick with you?? Well learn to ask and say what you feel... Take some responsibility. I was seen by dr taheri and in 2 months my skin was cleared. And because of the lasers...my red marks are vanishing. which is so exciting..I am hanging my head high again thanks..to DR.Taheri

I came to his office for moderate acne and didn't even see the doctor before I had a few laser treatments. I wondered if this doctor even existed! The asst behind the desk looked at my chart and said "Oh, you haven't seen the doctor yet??" This seemed strange. When I saw Dr Taheri he said that the laser treatments I had done weren't going to do anything for me (the settings were too low) and wrote down new settings for the lasers. It seemed to me that this should have been done at the first visit. I had laser after laser, and my skin got worse and worse. I started to realize that this was a cash cow with no concern for the patients. I barely saw Dr Taheri during these treatments. My skin did not improve over the course of hundreds of dollars worth of lasers. It actually worsened. Months later I went to a aesthetician, Lea Igard, where I had a few facials and followed her nutritional guidelines. My skin has improved 85%- no thanks to Dr Taheri.

Came in for mild dandruff, and he wanted to immediately sell me his laser/hypodermabrasion procedure. I didn't need the procedure, but he had his assistant try to convince me to set up an appointment. Didn't really listen to me; just wanted to sell his service and be done with the appointment. He also gives ads for hair renewal products, which gives you a sense of the kind of doctor he is. Avoid if possible.
