26/03/12 4 4 5 5 Dr. McLaughlin has been my family dr. for almost 15 years, he is also my 5 yr old son's dr. He is very understanding and takes great care in our appointments and well being. He is sympathetic to my Crohn's disease and has referred me to the top specialists/surgeons in the city and always follows up after I have been to someone else. The staff is much better now that they are in their new facility, and we will continue to see Dr. McLaughlin for years to come.  Respond

22/12/11 5 5 5 5 The best family Doctor there is, I have had some good doctors before but he takes it to another level with his knowledge and compassion. I don't understand the negative comments about his staff at all. They have always been wonderful.Sometimes they get busy and can't answer all of your concerns. That's the way it is everywhere.  Respond

08/11/11 1 4 5 5 I agree with most all the comments. Dr. McLaughlin is awesome and the staff are terrible. My wife has had at least three appointments where she showed up and they told her that her appointment time as on a different day/time.  Respond

15/08/11 4 5 5 5 I would endorse what most of the contributors to this site have said, in that as a family in Cochrane, we have found Dr. McLaughlin to be the finest GP that we have ever had anywhere in the world.. He does take time to listen to you, and will not “push you out of the door” until you are satisfied that he has addressed your concerns. Dr. McLaughlin is very proactive in ensuring your health and wellbeing, e.g. he has sent members of our family to an appropriate specialist for proactive investigation because of a history of hereditary illness. We have also found that he is kind, caring and has an excellent sense of humour.  Respond

15/07/11 3 5 5 5 One of the best physicians I have ever been to. He is very knowledgeable, punctual, and takes the time to ask questions and get to the bottom of things. If it is something beyond his abilities he does not hesitate to say so and refer you to a specialist. Very caring and patient and was excellent with my elderly mom who was not an easy patient by any means. He was the only doctor that understood her and looked after her in a very caring manner until her passing - a better physician you can not find. Also, he was the only doctor that she ever liked - that says lots! The office staff need some training in graciousness and manners though and lose some of the arrogant attitude.  Respond

31/01/10 5 5 5 5 I have been going to Dr.McLaughlin for about 6 years.I find him to be a very caring doctor. He isn't quick to hand out medications (which is great) he takes the time to sit and talk to you and find out what is wrong with you.If he doesn't know what is wrong he will send you to a specialist. He is truley a caring doctor.  Respond

22/12/09 1 4 5 5 I have been going to Dr. McLaughlin for quite some time. He was able to take me as a patient when my old dr retired. He is personable, respectful and has helped me manage my health very well. I too travel from out of town to visit him, but would rather do that than visit any of the other doctors I have tried out. I would recommend Dr. McLaughlin as a VERY GOOD doctor that does not over-perscribe and looks after me very well. He seems genuinely concerned with my health. I wish more doctors were like him. Clinic may book you with another doctor in the clinic if the doctor is on holidays and you need someone right away. If he is late it is because he is with another patient. The clinic is usually busy, and the staff does not try to be helpful. I have been actually speaking with the receptionist to book an appointment when she answered the phone and did not put the person on hold, and the wall they have built in front of the desk makes it almost impossible to talk to staff.  Respond

18/08/09 1 3 5 5 My family and extended family have all been very satisfied with Dr. McLaughlin and pleased with his referrals to specialists. The front staff, however, are more often than not miserable and not efficient.  Respond

09/08/07 1 3 5 5 Dr. McLaughlin has been my family doctor for 6 years and I think he is wonderful. He listens to my symptoms and my thoughts and he doesn't over-prescribe unnecesary medications. The office staff aren't as great though- my appointments are always a half hour behind and I am put on hold every time I phone and they make no effort to be time efficient.  Respond

30/03/07 3 5 5 i have been using dr. mclaughlin for about 7 years, through 2 pregnancies, one being twins, and all 3 of my children as well as my husband are very comfortable with him. he takes time to always be "safe than sorry". i hope to never have to change.  Respond

19/03/07 5 1 1 Dr. McLaughlin should not be practising medicine. He ignores symptoms which have proven to be life threatening and has zero bedside manner.  Respond

13/03/07 4 5 5 I'm not so happy with the desk staff in the office, but I love Dr. McLaughlin. He is very straight forward, knows what he's talking about and always follows through when he says he's going to.  Respond

02/03/07 5 5 5 Dr. McLaughlin listens to my opinion and symptoms and converses in patient terms. I travel one hour from home to see him.  Respond

20/02/07 4 5 5 It's nice that a physician will take the time to ask questions, follow up where necessary and defer to others when he is out of his element. I appreciate Dr. McLaughlin's attention to details and his ability to explain anything in language appropriate for me. He is realistic about referrals and when diagnostics should or should not be used. Finally, I would add that if I am on time, he is on time and I always try to remember that it could be me in the future taking the extra 5 minutes that puts the next appointment behind.  Respond

16/01/07 3 5 5 I have been using Dr McLaughlin as a family doctor for about six years. I find him to be very thorough and always asks if I have any concerns other than what I made the appointment for.  Respond
