23/01/14 5 5 5 5 Super professional and personable, Dr. Gratton epitomizes the way medical specialists should operate given the decimated state of healthcare in Quebec courtesy of our super incompetent provincial government.

07/06/11 5 5 5 5 I suffered from a severe allergic reaction to ppd in May 2011 and Dr. Gratton took great care of me. He's been my dermatologist for 20 years and i have nothing but good things to say about him. His assistant, Carole, is very kind, courteous and compassionate.  Respond

06/04/11 5 5 5 5 Dr. Gratton: I appreciated your agreeing to see me this morning, as well as your kind offer to make phone calls today to your Halifax colleagues to expedite the removal of the spot for biopsy. I called Carol and she did not stand on ceremony as some assistants frequently do. I expressed my prior sentiments to you of how well she functions, how respectful she is and how fortunate you are in having administrative support of that quality. Her empathy today was again appreciated. Concurrently, my wife was pursuing dermatologists in the Halifax area. After many phone calls, she procured an appointment for our Son for Monday. You acted not only as a skilled professional in providing a very preliminary assessment but, equally important, with the compassion of a concerned parent, thus reducing the anxiety of my wife, daughter and I. I have copied my daughter so that she can integrate this mentoring by you and Carol to further enhance her compassion for her own patients eventually.  Respond

27/01/11 5 5 1 1 The worst dermatologist I've ever had the misfortune to encounter. Completely incompetent, didn't know anything about my skin condition, offered no help, didn't even bother examining me, despite my insistence. He's not even compassionate enough to drive a taxi, let alone be a doctor.  Respond

22/08/10 4 5 5 4 Patient and kind. Dr Gratton was very patient with me, answering all my questions. It's pleasant to see him, contrary to other dermatologist in Montreal (humm DR Carey anyone?). Dr Gratton knows his stuff and i'm glad i met him  Respond

18/02/10 5 5 5 5 My daughter suffered from head to toe eczema for years. We saw countless dermatologists who did nothing but prescribe a cortical steroid ,suggest I humidify my house and sent me and my daughter on our way. No follow, no nothing. Dr Gratton was the only one who knew enough to treat her properly and the only one who cared enough to follow up on her progress. My daughter is now a happy and mostly eczema free 6 year old thanks to Dr Gratton.  Respond

29/07/09 5 3 1 1 he doesn't care.. very cold.. sees u only for minutes after i've been waiting 3 months, then gave me another appointment 3 months later for a mole removal.. while removing the mole, he was very irritated becoz my husband decided to come with me.. his hands were shaking while cutting my mole with scissors, it was horrifying.. the mole is gone but left a brown tag in its place.. plus he told me that i should live with my moles coz it's hereditary and that i can't do anything about it ( The ones on my face),, he refuse to remove a mole on my face and referred me to DR Wayne Carey, which i read has a bad reputation also.. Definitely i am not gonna see him and i will check with another DR..

27/05/09 1 5 1 1 This is the most heartless and least compassionate doctor I've ever been to. He hardly spent a second examining my rare, hereditary scan condition and prescribed me a medication that I contained an active ingredient had used before with disastrous results, and had told him caused me pain and bleeding. Goo see Dr Gernstein in the same clinic, he's an angel.  Respond

31/01/09 2 3 2 4 As some people have mentionned, he definitely lacks empathy; which is a big no-no in any field where human interaction is involved; especially so when what you have is a bit embarrassing. He just stares at you and doesn't really care. I asked him if there was any solution to my problem. He said: "nope, doesn't exist, you're gonna have to live with it for the rest of your life, if there was anything out there, i'd like to know about it" (imagine saying that with a very dry and heartless tone". I did a search on google and came upon numerous sites (involving laser surgery) that seems to contradict what he says. A big shame because his receptionist is a complete sweetheart  Respond

02/01/08 5 4 1 1 I had been seing Dr. Gratton for numerous year and he was always extremely rude and short with me. 2 years ago, I asked him to examine some suspicious looking moles...one on my back and the other on my arm. He decided to remove the mole on my back and froze the area using a needle. He literally stabbed me in the back with the needle. When I let out an "OUCH", he became very angry and impatient. I asked him about the mole on my arm which was extremely itchy and flaky. He said that he will not remove it and that he will just keep an eye on it. I insisted that he remove this mole because I could not stand the itchiness any longer. He refused. I saw another dermatologist right away and within days, I was asked to cancel my business trip because I had advanced skin cancer and needed surgery right away. Today, I am left with a horrible scar...a reminder of Dr. Gratton's negligence. I am MOST DISGUSTED.  See Responses
