:) Click to report rating    10/19/09 5 5 4 Went in for a gum graft. The staff was excellent in explaining the procedure and what type of care I would require once the graft was done. They also explained the medication they were prescribing to me in detail. Dr. Lacroix himself is extremely talented in his area of expertise and was very informative during the procedure, ensuring that I was ok throughout and informing me of how far along in the procedure he was. He also called me at home the day after to find out how I was, and confirmed that I had his cell number in case anything happened during the recovery. Overall, very pleased with Dr. Lacroix office as a whole.

:) Click to report rating    9/29/09 5 5 5 I was really nervous about consulting with this doctor because my regular dentist office told me that he was difficult and basically a jerk. However, I found him very professional, knowledgeable and thorough. He even called me the day after the surgery to see how I was doing. You can't beat that!

:( Click to report rating    8/21/09 1 3 1 If this is the same dentist I suspect it is, he used to work in Dalhousie, NB during the 1980s. He ended up giving my father a root canal during which he damaged the nerve which resulted in a permanent facial neuralgia. My father now has to deal with this for the rest of his life. Just picture the worst dental pain you can imagine but no painkillers in the world can ever make it go away. It might have been a fluke accident, but when we talked to other dentists, they advised neuralgias are a VERY rare occurrence if the procedure is done properly. Make of that what you will.

:( Click to report rating    8/19/09 1 3 1 He spoke french knowing I was english only. He was rude to his staff. He was impatient with me and didn't offer me any help or walk me through the procedure. He seemed like he just wanted to leave the whole time. He wasn't sympathetic and the medication i was give was supposed to sedate me somewhat, but it didn't end up affecting me at all, and he continued with the operation.

:) Click to report rating    2/18/09 3 5 3 Although I think this dentist is competent, his arrogance with staff and patients is the worst I have experienced..........I now travel out of town to get my perio and implant work done, and am very happy with my results.

:) Click to report rating    1/18/08 5 4 5 Very accomodating. The office staff and the doctor will not hesitate to contact the Insurance Co and get you the best possible price. I have found Dr. LaCroix to be very pleasant and polite. Will talk about anything to make you at ease. Calls you personally the next day to see how you are doing. A very busy office and at time I have waited up to half hour but I guess that is to be expected on some occasions. Very pleased with the service.

:( Click to report rating    11/6/07 1 1 1 J'ai eu ce docteur pour une grèffe de gencive. Je ne le recommande a personne malgré la bonne grèffe qu'il m'a fait. Il a eu peu de respect envers moi durant la procédure, ne m'a vraiment pas fait sentir comfortable et à été arrogant tout au long du processus (3 rendez vous en tout). Cette heure à été la pire et la plus longue de ma vie.

:| Click to report rating *  2/22/07 4 2 I was refered to this dentist for a consultation, in order to have dental implant. Upon my first visit (which was "free")I was explained the procedure, the timeframe, and the cost (which was quoted at about $3700 for the implant only, without the crown). This was within the range I expected after doing some research. They booked a second visit for x-rays and a dental exam $350+. Once the exam was over,I was brought into an office, and asked to sign a contract in small print. I questioned the numbers, and was told that the total was arround $6100, and this was without the crown, which is another $2000+ or -. When I didn't want to sign on the dotted line, the person became pushey. I indicated that I could not afford the new amount. When I asked if I could drop some of the proposed gum treatments but I was told, it was all or nothing. I was extreemly disapointed by these money grabbing ways. I would not recomend this dentist. I went to another dentist and got my implant for $2700.00. A1

Very rude beyond words, does not have any respect for his staff, made me feel uncomfortable while I was waiting on the chair. I will travel to Fredericton to escape this disrespectful and arrogant person. I should be reported. This is not acceptable. I may just do that...

:) Click to report rating    2/21/07 5 5 Dr. Lacroix is an excellent surgeon. He repaired bone damage done by a less-competent surgeon. I was extremely nervous, so during the surgery, he decribed a beautiful scene from his vacation to calm me down. Two years later, when I developed a serious infection in some other teeth, I called his office and they immediately took me in. Rather than pull teeth, he sent me for a second opinion. Unfortunately, I did lose the teeth, but I now have dental implants and am delighted! Dr. Lacroix seems a little bit shy, rather than arrogant, and is very compassionate, does follow-up both by phone and in his office for free. I highly recommend him!

:) Click to report rating    2/15/07 4 5 I had a great experience. My insurance didn't cover what needed to be done so he did everything in one visit instead of two. He explained everything perfectly and even called me at home the next day to make sure things were alright. I hope I never have to go back but if I do I'd definitely go see him again for the work.

:( Click to report rating    2/3/07 1 1 I am still waiting for them to call me back with my appt. (a year ago!!) They have no idea what is going on. Everybody is extremely disorganized. And the prices they charge are way over the top!! This arrogant guy needs some competition because the nearest competitor is in Fredericton. But I must say Dr. Coffin is well worth the drive.

:) Click to report rating    2/1/07 3 4 Dr. Jean Pierre LaCroix knows his stuff, I believe he is avery knowledgeable and intelligent. He did a good job and is self-assured, though I can certainly see where some people can find him arrogant. The only thing I didn't like was the treatment plan that went way beyond what I was asking for - big $$ - and they made you feel a bit like you were neglecting your health if you didn't get the whole treatment program, instead of just what you came for.

The only reason he is still in business has got to be because he may still be the only periodontist in the area. Beware!
